You folks will never believe this, really its not a fairy tale I made up, this happened. This Cold White stuff fell out of the sky, no really it did. And no it was not fog or a low cloud. This stuff was small and flaky and blew around on the wind. Well anyway it just fell and fell for hours, and covered everything in white. The people that live in my magic box, well its more flat than a box in truth, which really makes me wonder just how they fit in there and... wait that's a different story. Right the flaky stuff, they said the flaky stuff was getting dangerous, I never noticed myself it sort of just laid there doing cold stuff when I was looking, so they decided to send kids home from school early. I guess cold flaky white stuff is only dangerous to kids when they are getting taught things, I'll look that up someday. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if it was down right mean to kids getting taught stuff. I was never in school when I saw any when I was a kid, not that I remember, there was this one time.. There I go again wandering off, back to this time. All the grownups hopped in their cars and hit the roads to go get their kids before the Cold White could get them. And that was exactly what it wanted. The sneaky stuff was never after the kids, it got a few I reckon, it was after the Moms and Dads the whole time!! I'm not actually sure how the Flaky stuff did it but in just hours it turned all the roads into parking lots. And I mean fast too. Some folks were only going a few miles and just could not do it, they either gave up and walked or spent all day and night stuck in there cars. And that was BAD cause it was cold as crap, remember I said it was COLD white stuff. It took all day yesterday and most of today too to get those folks to safe places and to get there cars moving again. Some are still just sitting on the side of the road. I know because I saw one myself today, just the other side of this hill I live on. I played it safe and made a warm cocoon in my bed and climbed in it. I was not about to get near that Cold White Flaky stuff, the people in my magic box did not have to tell me twice I just hunkered down for the long run. Well today the Sun popped out and the cold stuff took off and ran away some place, I'm told it melted but I don't really know because I was hunkered down until it was mostly gone.

Yes folks its not right for me to make fun of what just happened here in the Deep South of the U.S. of A. But if I don't I'll just get mad that a few inches of snow, yes just two here, can cripple whole cities. I do wish to say that for the most part people pulled together and helped each other and very few were hurt. Teachers and Principles even spent the night in schools to keep children here safe, warm and feed. I am proud of the people that live here as they just showed that when things go bad we can, will and still do pull together to help others in need. I also want to say that SNOW should keep its butt in places that can deal with it and leave us Southern folks alone, DANG IT!

...2" of snow here and it's 24 hour coverage of Winter Blast 20xx in the media. It's really odd because Mt hood is not that far of a drive and lots of people go there to ski yet a dusting of snow here and it's time to put the studded tyres on and chain up the city buses.

On average we get a couple inches per year. Maybe once every four to six years we actually get a real snowfall (by Wisconsin standards). On average we have about four to six days where there is actually snow cover on st streets. (the last couple years only two). Yet the city allows people to have studded tyres on their cars from November to April which for the most part do nothing but chew up the streets. There are times I like to call this town "Pothole Oregon" because of all the damage done to the road surfaces each year. This costs the city money to repair and that money has been in short supply the last several years.

The transit system is especially amusing when the dreaded "S" word gets mentioned. There was one evening that local forecasters mentioned there might be a "chance of snow". That next day all the buses (18 tonnes each) were running with chains on, driving around on bare, occasionally wet, roads for the entire day. The temperature didn't even go below freezing. This not only made for a slow rough ride (buses were restricted to 25 mph) but even more punishment for the poor streets. On top of that all the schools were closed even though that morning it was just rain mixed with a few snowflakes. The storm turned north into Washington State overnight and got stuck there by a stationary front.

To close the schools and affect the transit system where I grew up, it took a foot or more of snow, it had to be accumulating fast (more than an inch per hour), and/or be accompanied by blizzard like conditions with high winds and bitter cold temperatures.

Ugh, here's a complaint of mine.

Friend announced on his journal that he was going to open for commissions, but by the time I was able to visit the journal he had already closed, because he was getting verbally abused by these three guys, and quite harshly at that (Excessive swearing, insults, even threats)

Why? Because one of the three asked him to draw his pony character and he declined. The guy started raging about him being a "brony hater" and brought his two buddies into the argument for no apparent reason and then they all just started shouting at the guy - just for saying "I'm sorry but I won't draw ponies".

Geez. Well, he took his commission journal over to FA instead (Where apparently people are more 'accepting' about artists not willing to do various things) but man... I often hear from my friends just how.... Sensitive... These fans can be, but I've never actually see them explode like this until now. Sure, I've seen a few 'fans' get all hyper and excited, but never anything like this *shakes head*

So yeah, now I'm all agitated just for having to witness this :blank:

In other news, I'm making some progress in my 3DS game - but most of it's been guess work. I keep coming across things that confuse me, but I've got a friend that's helping me make sense of some conversations and words :)

...it's too bad one can't have an "ignore" button for people like that.

There are genres I don't do because I just don't have an interest in them. That is why I just do this for fun instead of cash save for maybe the occasional GC or content prize from a challenge that catches my attention.

Yeah, well these guys took it as a direct insult to them it seems. =/
There's stuff I don't want to do (Or can't) but I've never been given a problem over it before.

...yeah I haven't dealt with anything quite that bad although once had someone who wanted me to do D.i.D. scenes of one of my characters for them. I politely declined telling them I wasn't into that sort of thing and that these characters were for a story I am currently working on. Fortunately this person understood.and didn't pres the matter.

...Misty, who's your ISP at home? Might be good to check with them if they had an outage. I've had this happen occasionally and usually it is back up and running in an hour or two.

Yeah, go Broncos. I Like Peyton Manning and they have the former star running back from Wisconsin, Montee Ball (who broke all sorts of NCAA records including the most career touchdowns).

Even though I live just 160 miles south of Seattle never been a big fan of any of their teams. Especially the Mariners who's games the local ESPN radio station here airs complete with pre- and post game show. 4 - 5 hours of listening to these losers and the Seattle based smack afterwards almost every night during the summer is more than I can take. Once they preempted the national ESPN feed of the NCAA Basketball Championship Final (which Ohio State was playing in) for an Mariners exhibition game (that didn't even count towards the season standings) and two and a half hour post game show. Wrote them a terse letter about that and cancelled my membership on their site.

Not sure what I'm going to do on Sunday, too broke to go to one a pub that is hosting a party. Kickoff is at 3:30 pm local time here

...well, the year of the snake has come and gone. For a couple of us "slithery ones" here (Wooly and myself), not been a very good one.

Still miss Wooly's presence, poetry, complaints of the day, and wisdom.

Let's hope the coming year turns things around for a few of us...

For those not born on a horse year, the year ahead will bring health and prosperity. It is said to be an excellent time to travel, as the next 12 months will bring good luck. You are advised to mingle with the locals, savour authentic cuisine and discover somewhere you have never been before.

The weather has pulled a 180 on my butt. From below freezing to darn near 60F in one day. If you have any Arthur as I do you understand what that means. If you have crippling Arthur as I do then I wish you well because I'm one pile of HURT right now, So I know others are as well.

EDIT: Need some Wooly to bring me some cheer. Always had something wacky to say.

I just saw a news segment about this ape that picks the Super Bowl winner. It has been right every year so far...I think six years running, but maybe five. They toss two paper mache hats into his cage, having the logo of the two teams on them. Anyway, he picked Seattle.

So, if Misty isn't ignored in the forum but she isn't there to see it is she still not ignored? Existential problems make crazy, even Schrodinger's cat would rather be uncertain than dead for sure
