How do you correctly embed a YouTube video?

Just paste the link into the editor.  If the link is underlined after pasting, right click and select "Unlink", then it should work

I tried too many things then went into source and wasn't sure what to delete so I have that extra text. Thanks, next time! Also I'm on an iPad.

I thought that was the one you were thinking of. This is the other one with a similar theme: The Sheep Look Up by John Brunner.

Ah, now that is a classic!  My paperback copy is almost half a century old!

And next on the panic list:

Image may contain: meme, possible text that says 'COMING TO AMERICA THE SQUIGER JUNE 2020'

I don't think those #9 Game Loads are going to cut it for Godzilla...wonder if Hornady still makes those Magnum Kaiju Shells.  But it was a warm winter, so if Godzilla comes to the Gulf Coast, the 'skeeters will probably get him.

Thinkin' #5's for the Drop Bears and Death Bunnies...

I've got both and they both date from 1977.

According to Wikipedia, Phillip Wylie died in 1971 and "End of the Dream" was first published posthumously in 1972. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philip_Wylie

...on my morning grocery trip yesterday passed by the window of a realty broker and saw this on the screen in their window which usually displays properties for sale.

Seems their EotW already occurred (the orientation is correct)

I'm not afraid of no murder hornets...

We have these things around here...

Not as big as a Murder Hornet, but these guys eat cicadas and are actually not very aggressive... I know, I've gone out of my way trying to capture one and all they do is fly off after making a rude wasp gesture... This one I found dead (I swear) in my workshop.
So like everything I find on the floor in my shop, I put it into a small plastic container until I find what it fell off of or I find something interesting to use it for.

Several months later I came across the container and found that the larve of something (probably another wasp) had erupted from within the wasp's abdomen.

The dead wasp which I figured had just died from natural causes or smoking too much, that didn't disturb me at all, but the tiny horror show in the container was a bit macabre.

I figure if something can manage to lay it's eggs in one of these wasps, the bigger ones might make fer' better eatin'.

Also... those Japanese hornets were found in Washington state... I've got plenty of time till they get here.

Apparently, the honeybees in Japan have figured out (with their hive mind) an effective counterattack to the murder hornet. They swarm around it in numbers, clinging to it, then beat their wings furiously. This raises their own body temperature so much it literally cooks the hornet to death. All the US needs to do is import some Japanese honeybees to "teach" the rest. Problem solved!

I seem to be getting "interesting" (and stupid) spam robocalls - I'm in Indiana and haven't been out of state in over 10 years. But I've received calls this week from the Genesee County Health Department (Flint, Michigan); the Michigan Department of Health; and the Iowa Department of Health. I use the Google cal screening ap and all three disconnected when the got the message that the call was being screen and the needed to provide who the were an the reason for the call. Fun times! frown

When will politicians finally realize that getting rid of those scammers would gain great favor at the voting booth.

Went for a walk and groceries today.  MAN I need to get out and walk more often, I was so sweaty when I got home and I know it's a combo of sitting around too much and the toxicity of the meds they have me on building up in my body.  Need to get into a better groove before I have to head back to work starting next month so I'm not sweating all over my clients when I working on their hair! LOL

Oh and my check came today.  WOW... it really is for 1200.00 COOL!

...first 80° day of the year today with mid 80s for tomorrow and Sunday.  Looks more like mid June here with trees all in full leaf (been that way for a couple weeks).  May take a walk to Forest Park (which is literally a large forested area just Northwest of the city centre)  to get a good leg stretch after sitting around so much.

Meanwhile in the northeast it's looking more like Yuletide than Mum's Day with snow in the forecast, up to 8" in some areas.

Yeah, as "importing foreign animal species to a different continent" has been proven so successfull over the last couple hundred years... like...

    • Rabbits in Australia
    • African Bees to South America
    • Louisiana Crayfish to England and Continental Europe
    • Rats to about every island on the world that didn't have them before (okay, that was unintentional, but still "human made"
    • and about 1000 other cases I'm just to lazy now to look for...

Yeah, I reported yesterday of periodic bouts of heavy snow.  Woke up this morning to 30F temperature but only 1/4 inch of accumulation.  Will probably be gone in a few hours.  But not being enjoyed.  The reason?  Wrong season!

It's really creepy when it snows and there are leaves on the trees... something very "off" in the appearance.

Snow and heavy frost is not good for farmers trying to start crops. The south is getting whammed with cold weather bad.  forecast mid 20s at night with only 50's as highs.  i guess we had our summer in January when the temps were in the high 70's

Things are getting weird anymore.  Almost biblical.

LA has been up to the 90's already, but down to mid 70's for the rest of the week. 74 degrees now at 7:16 pm.

PANDEMIC UPDATE: Went to the local Specs Liquor Store today for some Gin.  Was speaking to the clerk and I asked about my perferred Gin being out and he stated they have been waiting on it for a while.  Also stated they ran out of Tito's Vodka, Jack Daniels, and even ran out of Margureta mix a few days before Conco De Mayo.  This is getitng bad, first toilet paper, rubbing alcohol, bread, and eggs, then small freezers, now meat, motherboards, TVs, and booze.  What's next feminine hygiene products?

It is 67° in Galveston right now and will be 82° tomorrow and Mid to high 80's all next week  It is May and about to get "sticky" around here, as the saying goes.  99 degrees and 99% humidity is not fun.  Thank God for air conditioning.

    On another note...
