I can't find any configuration that works for the icing on the cake sale. I follow the instructions as given, and all I get is that both coupons are invalid. The instructions are weird, mind you -- the text indicates that there should be a total of three "cake" items, but following the link gives me a product list 72 pages long.

I agree, it's really nice that we could use the 70% offer with just owning three items from the cake list. FInally manage to get an outfit I've been wanting since it was released but couldn't get.

I don't get it.. are the CAKE items really supposed to be only 3, like the text seems to suggest? I have tons of items when I click the CAKE buttons and this is the link: https://www.daz3d.com/related-items#index=0&order=popular^1&filtered=1

It's a lot of items on the list, but you can only buy 3 for the coupon code to get 50% off on them. And if you buy (or have) atleast 3 items on the Cake list, you can than use the Icing list and get 70% off of up to three of those items (with a new release in the cart, for both the offers)

Even if I add a new item, the 70% off category only partially works. I can add a couple of items, but when I add more, they become full-price again. They are all from the 70% off category.

Apparently, for the SE7ENTY code to work, you need a new release in the cart, and no more than three "Icing" items. Even though neither the new release requirement nor the limit of three items is actually stated with the specific adcopy for the "Icing" offer/coupon!

(I was able to add three Sci-Fi items to my cart as well, but had to reapply the coupon for some reason.)

ETA: It is rather nice, though, that we can qualify for the Icing offer if we own three of the Cake items already.

The ad says Any New Release, but they link to only a subset of new releases. Evidently PC+ new releases are not included, although that is not stated. Lots of unstated terms and conditions in this sale.

The wording is weird. In theory, you might only own one or two of the items, since the first offer you can use on up to three items from the cake category. If you buy "all three" of the "up to three" items, then you are eligible for the second deal. It's a confusing way to say it, but I'm not sure of a better way without having a paragraph to explain it on the sales page.

    From my two purchases:

) 1 new item plus 3 cake items

    ) 1 new item plus 3 icing items +3 select sci-fi items

That is what worked for me - the best I could do quickly.

oooooh! LOL! I don't know who writes the texts for the info but they have a weird way to explain stuff!

anyway when I saw the sale I pointed immediately to the 70% coupon and saw that it works for me, so I bought at the least the 3 items required in the past..

    thanks yes

Are there only 4 sci-fi items to choose from or do I own the rest? The icing coupon seems to only work on 3 items.

Same here although I dumped the sci-fi items since the Icing Items pushed me over my budget :)

    The truth is

    1 new release + 3 Cake items + SE7ENTY (3 items)

  • Can anyone who purchased one cart of "icing" + new item see if they can build a second one and reuse the coupon code?

Is that how it's supposed to work, though? That's not what it says. And I'm not just being picky about the smallprint--there is absolutely no indication that the number of items you can buy would be limited in any way.

It seems to be working on at least four icing items for me?

*Further checking, it started saying it was invalid with five "Icing" items or more.

It only works once for me.

I don't know why the link adds a filter to remove PC+ items. The icing promo CAN be triggered with a new PC+ item. That will not allow the 3.99 sci-fi items but if someone is not interested in those, PC+ makes for a lower entry cost.

    Is a good promo.

There are more, you probably already own them. Still, is a very short selection as it did not even required a link to "view all items".

  • Yeah, not gonna bother with the cake or icing. I shouldn't have to guess or play trial and error games to use a coupon.

  • I think either the wording is wrong or the coupon on Daz's end is because I just bought a new release and three of the cake items, went back to buy some icing items and it says invalid. I put another new release in the cart and the coupon works for the icing. But it does not say you need to buy a new release after the initial purchase for that coupon to work. Hopefully it either gets rectified or the wording changes. Not the end of the world for me, I only really wanted one item in the icing but would have picked up three or four, I got some good deals with the cake coupon. I'll check back later.

I tested the Icing coupon with a PC+ NR in the cart, and it worked. I actually bought a Still New item, though.

    Thanks, @evacyn, for checking.

I'm not sure if this is working as intended, but I was able to add Cake items without the code or New Release and I still got the 50%.

    I understand.

I'd like to mention, though, I just saved about $160 between my two carts, using Still New items for my new release, and at least one qualifying item that was also discounted as a Featured Artist item. And I only bought things on my wishlist, (both new and back catalog items.)

Thank you for pointing out yet another error in the sale. I guess you can't rely on either the text or the links in these sales. You are supposed to spend all day on trial and error - does this work? does that work? I'm just sick of it. A new store is not going to fix careless ad creation.

Has anybody figured that darned thing out? Do I have to buy a new item today plus 3 from the "Cake" category to qualify for the "Icing" stuff? Or does already owning new items from the PA sale count? Because I bought 4 Debut/Still new items over the past couple days and I own tons of the "Cake" ones already but the SE7ENTY coupon is not working. Render me a very confused little Byrdie!frown

  • @Byrdie, If you already own at least 3 Cake items, then add any new item (even a PC+ one) and up to three of the items in the icing selection, apply the code SE7ENTY to your cart and you're good to go.

I tried just using SE7ENTY first with new items, but that did not work for me. So then I tried the FIFTIES-AROUND coupon with the same new items, since I thought that was a prerequisite, and that worked. But now SE7ENTY still won't work, with or without new items in the cart.

I consider myself a DAZ sales vet. I do not understand the coupon wording at all this time around, and would love to use SE7ENTY but that looks to be impossible now? Very, very confusing. No idea what is going on.

Edited to all: OK, I was able to use both coupons. But the SE7ENTY coupon requires new release also and only 3 items off the ICING list.

  • This is odd,  SE7ENTY was working a moment ago now it does not work any more.
