either the planes are flying lower, or sounds like the sky is flushing a toilet.

Watch out for blue ice! :-P

another question about Australia: is now the best time to visit Australia? I read somewhere that the beaches, restaurants and museums are crowded in May, June and July. Or maybe I misread the website. Another website suggested March or April. Maybe I'll go in November 2015 to watch the Melbourne Cup.

no way am I going to the red center in the summer. lol

I think someone was pulling your leg, Starionwolf (^_^)... now is cold and miserable - great if you're a Pom, but the rest of us stay indoors and watch the floods on TV ;-). Best time (weather-wise) is usually Sep-Nov, after winter and before summer - after the rains stop, and before it gets too hot (100degF? ... an average day ;-) ). Alternatively is the period AFTER summer (Feb-Apr), when the weather remains nice and it's cooling down again.

It can be quite wet on Melbourne Cup day. Uluru is great in the wet, waterfalls and wildflowers in the middle of a desert but the wet there is hard to predict  The Barrier Reef is good in Winter, so is Kakadu because the lakes have water, but it does get freezing cold in the deep desert even if the day has been hot. Northern Australia gets heaps of rain during Monsoon season after Christmas, Southern Australia is quite hot and dry from February to April. Is a big country, you get a choice of weather

Not because of the knee/shoulder thing, hopefully. :)
ETA: By the way, I couldn't an find an image where anyone was doing that, even Yoga people or contortionists.
I have a feeling it might require a serious dislocation.

I can get my knee to touch the front of my shoulder. (just tried it) I don't think it's possible to get the knee and the top of the shoulder to meet, though.

    Wow! Flexible.
I used to be able to touch my elbows together behind my back. Now I'm lucky if I can get them in the same room. %-P
...with my bad joints, doing anything like that would have me ending up in traction.

Just getting my right foot up on a chair to tie my shoe is almost a contortionist's challenge.

    ...pretty amazing.

Miss doing things like that by hand. Now I have to be concerned about backfacing polys, NGons, AO, GI, HDRI, shadow softness, UV maps, specuilarity maps, transparency maps, reflective maps, bump maps, index of refraction, caustics, ray depth, etc., etc. etc.

Seemed so much simpler with a box of illustrator grade coloured pencils.

    NVIATWAS (first cut)

    (Verse 1 - whispered)

The temple it is cold and dark
    But someone wanders there
    She's absolutely naked
    Yeah, she's got no underwear
    Her skins like alabaster
But it's streaked with bloody red
This time Vicky has a sword
    And somewhere Mike lays dead

    (Chorus 1 - screamed)

Vickys loose and mad as Hell
    She's gonna make then pay
    Stephie, Aiko, even Mike
    She's gonna slash away
    Vicky smiles, Vicky laughs
    As body parts they fly
    They all abused poor Vicky
Now the sons of (removed from post) will die!

    (Verse 2 - whispered)

    Stephanie is full of fear
    She's crying as she flees
She saw Vicky chop Mikes head
    While begging in his knees
    Bloody stains on Stephies feet
    Leave an easy trail
    Stephie isn't gonna last
    'Cause Vicky never fails!

    (Chorus 2 -screamed)

Vickys loose and mad as Hell
She loves to hear them cry
On their knees and begging "Please"
    Right up until they die!
    Vicky's gonna leave a mess
    As body parts they fly
    They all abused poor Vicky
    Now those poor b****rds die!

    (techno/metal break)

    (Verse 3 - whispered)

    DAZ thought it couldn't happen
    And now they can't explain
How DAZ messed up with Vicky
Left her broken in the brain
    Mike, and Aiko, Stephie too
    Are splattered on the walls
    But Vicky has one souvenir
    She kept poor Michaels balls!

    (Chorus final - screamed)

    Naked Vicky in a temple
    With a bloody sword
Oh what could happen, DAZ did think
    Oh nothing so untoward!
    See Vicky laughing wildly
    She knows she isn't through
It won't be long 'till Vicky dices
    GENERATION TWO!

    (techno/electro outro)

Wow Vicky The Musical  Is great to have some poetry back in the Thread :)

Canberra is about 280 kilometers from Sydney. The scenic train ride will take 4 hours and 18 minutes. wow. Australia is a big country. Sydney and Melbourne have nice beaches. ok, gotta go because I hear thunder.

Funny! I was an original hippy at my high school. One of the first, if not the first. My last haircut for several years was the day before school, junior year...1969. It wasn't fun when it came to the jocks...they didn't care for long hair and bell bottoms. Well, maybe they liked them on the girls. Sometimes I wondered about that, too.

...didn't have hair that long, however did have a full length "ZZ Top" beard when I was in college (and cool "John Lennon" glasses with clip on shades).

Been watching some really neat vids of fluterbys in slow motion. Very graceful looking in flight despite how fast they move in real time.

Oh, learned another thing about them as well. They have far superior colour vision to us humans and can see even into the ultravioulet spectrum. They can also see red (which bees are incapable of) and are attracted to the colour. No wonder they like nesting in Leela's hair. ;-)

Ahh, the old Hair days.. Lets see I was 18 when they shaved my head so that was 79. I could sit on my hair long before then and often did when I got in my car, wore those elephant legged bell bottoms a straw cowboy hat with rolled wings on the sides and a big green smilie face button dead center of it that frowned and said "SHI !" without the blank letter, and pilot style mirrored sun glasses. I looked so stupid. Of course back then who knew? Everybody looked a bit weird back then.

Speaking of Weird, I see the tjohn has morphed yet again. The Artist formerly known by many other names has posted the theme song of my life, I can not wait to hear the full version with music. Rezca may or may not have found a new hobby and that the Dragon Tail (pun still intended) has moved forward. Seat, edge all that stuff over that one. Not sure if Arthur will bother Misty or not as it moves up the coast but I bet wet will be had. The Land down Under sounds like a great place to visit if anyone can figure out when the right time to go really is, and I now seem to have forgotten anything else in my head from the flood of pages I just read. Sorry folks but my one brain cell can only hold so much at one time...
