Very adorable, and something I've wanted for ages; but the fur is only LAMH and unfortunately i have a struggle with that, it works for me but I can't seem to save a scene using it without it corrupting the scene.

Insanely cute … went straight into my wish list because at the current price it‘s also insanely expensive. I‘ll let it nibble on some cheese under the bed until it is properly discounted before I call in the cat to collect it for me =)

I've only tried to use Catalyst once with a squirrel and it made DS crash, so I've been wary of all these critters.

I use LAMH seldom enough, it seems like I have to relearn each time that the LAMH groups cannot be parented to another group or object. I have the full LAMH so I like to open it and save the fur as Fiber Mesh. You can change the parent for the fiber mesh object(s), but you don't want to create those until you've finalized the pose. Unless it's an AM animal, and then I'll use the Catalyzer preset more often than not.

@Sevrin, I had issues with Catalyzer when it was still a new product. It crashed DS every time I tried to use it. Doubling my system ram from 32GB to 64GB and making changes to the Page File settings in Windows put a stop to that. Apparently Catalyzer uses, or did use, a significant amount of system memory.

Ooooh me too, please a rabbit! The Noggin's one is such a pitiful sight ... The mouse is really very cute but still quite realistic I think. Well done AM! And now the RABBIT please ... ;-)

Thanks for the insights, but I don't think I'll be putting more money into my current system, which otherwise suits my needs.  No pets for me, then.

For catalyzer you have to tick the box that says "safe mode"  in catalyzer and it works fine, if you don't tick the box it crashes....  it is resource heavy though

I requested a rat for Halloween and a rabbit for Easter on facebook when we got a preview of this little guy there....fingers crossed we get some more rodents!

"Optimized for both Iray (dForce and Catalyzer) and 3Delight. Catalyzer version 1.9 required for use with the Catalyzer Iray figures."

With the current sale price at 20USD, I'm wondering if that's considered insanely high, what would be a fair price?

yeh, it's more than I like paying; actually I'm a percentage shopper - to an extent. I get lots of fun waiting for the price to drop.

I don‘t think the price is insane as such, what with all the work you must have put into the model and the morphs and rigging and all that. It‘s just that, for me personally, it is too high to buy right now, especially since I won‘t be using the mouse all that often. It‘s rather that I think it‘s extremely cute and therefore just want to have it for its own sake ;-) I will most likely buy it when it‘s at 15 dollars or around there. A rat morph add-on would be great, by the way!

A rabbit and / or hare (oh yes, would definitely need a hare morph!), on the other hand, I could use so much more often, it would be an instabuy for me ... (hint, hint) ....

It is sitting at the top of the what's hot list right now (and it's only been live a few hours), so it appears many other people believe the price is fair.

the price is fair but life isn't for everyone

with Covid 19 restrictions many are out of work

or like me living on 300AUD a week gross income and experiencing the awful Aussie dollar drop

it would cost me more than $30 with the new discount so like so many things wishlisted for when our economy improves

I wish you well though and hope you sell heaps heart as love your critters

That's what got me. I was considering getting the mouse until I saw the price. I still think it's cute though.

Considering what the PAs put into these, it probably should be priced at $50. But I would call it cute at $8.95. :-)
  • i have a tendency to get critters to use with my people pics a LOT.... but dforce hair is very hard on my machine. BUT Alessandro did dforce AND LAMH (catalyzer and 3dl)! OMG my true hero!  Finances are tough this year (for everyone I'm sure, 2020 is a bad year for all of us) but i can't say no to this little mouse. Now I desperately want to re-do the last pic I did of the character Maeve, dancing with a pig on a sidewalk... she totallly  needs a mouse on her shoulder and a fox or something too, wearing sunglasses or something. :) THERE IS ALWAYS a reason to add a critter to a picture. ALWAYS.  Thank you Alessandro for finally making a mouse!!!!!

Happy to see the mouse finally release and looks like a great figure, though I won't be purchasing for a while. Current budget doesn't allow me to splurge on Daz content for the foreseeable future (I also missed out on the gnu, lion cub and snow leopard... oh well, hopefully I can save up for Christmas). Is the mouse not related to the rodent polymorph? I didn't see any mention of the RP, but maybe I wasn't paying attention. I assumed we would be able to mix and match with other rodent morphs such as the squirrel and porcupine.

I am sure mine will too, but you can never have too many cats and I've been waiting for an Alessandro one for a while heart With Catalyzer LAMH hair, long and short...

To be honest, I'm pretty shocked he hasn't already made a house cat, if only from a financial standpoint. How many people render snow leopards and lions vs. house cats? How long have people been clamoring for a new cat to supersede the Daz offerings and even HW? A house cat made to the same standard as his other felidae would be the only cat anybody needed.

I'm wondering why the new Mouse wasn't based on the Rodent Base model?
Is it just that Alessandro's modelling has improved so much since that release that he found it better to create an all-new model?

possibly because he reads all the complaints people post about the existing cats including the HW3D one...

and I can't say I blame him for not wanting to touch one as a result

I would also like to know if it uses the Rodent Polymorph.

  • It doesn't use or need the Rodent Polymorph.
