Stepped out of Whataburger with my cup of tea and got a fat rain drop right between the eyes. Only one dark cloud in sight, the rest is bright blue sky and poofy white clouds.

And I have a kick ass t-shirt from the cancer charity!!!

    GREAT SATURDAY!!! :) :)

...#3 Oregon Ducks romped all over Sparty (Michigan State) scoring 28 unanswered points in the second half. At least one of my "home teams" is doing well.

...Brewers have effectively fallen off the radar losing 3 out of 4 to St Louis and now in third behind the Pirates. Like Danika Patrick in her first Indy 500 a few years ago (who was in the lead with less than 4 laps to go), so close to the finish and the gas tank had to run dry.

..oh and Wisconsin managed to beat up on some "cupcake" college from Illinois 37 - 3. Guess it's always easier to play with the "pups" than the "Big Dogs".

...oh yeah, been offline all weekend....other stuff.

...used to drink scotch with Mr Asprin. He was a regular guest at Norwescon in Seattle. Love his work. His Myth Adventures series was also adapted into comic/graphic novel format by artist Phil Foglio

Robert was also a master of filk (silly songs inspired by SF stories) and often "hosted" a late night filk session at teh con that went into the "wee hours".

...I have that with traffic. I can be walking down the street towards an intersection with nary a car (save for those that are parked) in sight and the moment I get there, a bunch of cars have to show up just at that very same moment. Same happens when I get to a driveway or entrance to a car park, there just has to be that one car turning at that very moment turning to go in.

...I'd rather have the raindrop. Getting a wet nose is preferable to being run over by a 3,000# collection of metal plastic and glass.

...agh, 15:30 at the coffee shop and once again it's The Afterschool Invasion of the Teenagers.. When I was their age a bottle of Coca Cola and 10¢ bag of crisps from the corner grocery was the after school snack. Coffee? That's what the parentals drank.

Crisps? Where did you grow up? You speak of locations in the US, but you talk like you're from the UK. :smirk:

    ...Milwaukee WI,

We were set to emigrate to the UK to avoid the draft back in the mid 60s, but at the time, it was difficult to do so as a single parent family and our petition was denied. Went through a lot of preparation including learning to spell and speak in "proper" English.

...just kind of stuck with me through the years.

Hmmmm...most just moved to Canada. I just hung around and ignored the letters. I had pretty bad asthma, though, so they probably wouldn't have wanted me. Then it was over.

    Morning Folks!.

complaint for the day... its Monday.

My complaint is that there isn't anywhere to go on a Monday during my mother's visit because all of the museums and stuff are closed! Even the one at Texas Tech! It's been over 30 years since I was there. Thought it would be nice to see the current exhibits.

They really dislike Mondays that much in Texas? :-P

    Dana
Apparently both the Texas Panhandle and this part of New Mexico. Clovis zoo and the model train museum are closed. Everything we considered in Lubbock, Texas, closed. A very helpful guy at the Curry County version of a corporation commission said a general rule in this part of the country is if it's open on Saturday it will be closed on Monday.

...many also got sent back. In some cases, the red tape to emigrate to Canada was actually worse because that is where everyone was heading at the time and the government as very protective about making sure their own citizens had jobs first.

Hopefully something like this once I get the adaptive sampling render settings right :)

Is an eight hour + render for 174 frames so I'll have another go around overnight

My sympathies. It gets quite cold here in the mid fall to mid spring but not much precipitation.

...if I could afford it I'd move to New Mexico, but not many "living wage" jobs and a rather high cost of living there.

High cost of living in Taos, Albuquerque, and Santa Fe. Low cost of living in the majority of the state but almost no jobs of the kind you could do as well.
