genesis8femalegenitalia.dsf?
That's is the asset file that has the shape etc., it lives in the data folder. I would suspect that the user is loading a file which calls for the ge Anatomical Elements but doesn't have the actual product (from most adult Pro Bundles and most of the recent themed bundles) installed, or at all.
Yes; my apologies. I was looking at the wrong content manager directory which, curiously, seemed to have the UVs for the product but nothing else.
DAZ Studio no longer launches for me since installing Pro. I just get a crash popup. I don't have previous installers. I am working on a Mac with the Big Sur OS (v11.2.3) running.
What can I do??
Big Sur is not supported yet. Support is expected sometime this year.
Do you actually own the genitalia? You need to have purchased at least one of G8F adult "named character" bundles (pro bundle for those who had starter / pro bundles) to have them.
Thank you,
what I use isDaz Studio 4.15 Pro
change the name,
invalid continue New Menu
It seems after upgrading much of the controls under Edit > Figure > ... are now gone. How does one select an arm now and the child elements for instance and then go to zero selected pose anymore? I find no way to do this. Where has this functionality been moved to?
And the Edit > Object menu is completely empty now except for "Change Parent". Wow!
It sounds like you need to run the Update and Merge Menus command.
I had no idea about this command or what it did, but that seems to have done the trick. Thanks @barbult. Now I can really do things again.
DESDE QUE, INSTALE LA VERSIÓN 4.15 Y ME OCURRE ESTO
CUANDO CARGO GÉNESIS 8 FEMALE, TARDA 6 MINUTOS, PORQUE NO ENCUENTRA EL ARCHIVO “G8F NOSUIT.DUF”, ¿ALGUIEN SABE CÓMO ARREGLAR ESTE PROBLEMA?
WHEN I CHARGE GENESIS 8 FEMALE, IT TAKES 6 MINUTES, BECAUSE IT DOES NOT FIND THE FILE "G8F NOSUIT. DUF, "DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM?
Please try it again, and after you get the error, attach the log.txt file (C:\Users\Your username\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\Studio4)
Currently running an RTX 2070 TriFrozer from MSI on my box and haven't messed with my DS in quite a while, as I have too many irons in the fire (model horse customization, sculpting, jewelry making, leatherwork, and a partridge in a pear tree), but I have plans to start making prints again. Is it worth upgrading to 4.15 (I'm currently on 4.12) right now, or am I better off waiting another year til I upgrade the box and vid card again? Windows 10 Home on an i7-8700 @ 3.20GHz, 16gb RAM. I have DS installed on 1TB SSD and all of my content on a Seagate 4TB external drive.
Render times don't really bother me right now, so it's not an issue of wanting to speed anything up. The only time I render scenes for prints is when I know I'll be out of the office in one of the other work spaces. Will my system be truly sufficient for 4.15? I'm tempted by the newer content management system, but it's not really a "crucial" upgrade overall.
Is 4.15 really slow to respond for anyone else? I don't mean rendering - once I manage to get to render, it's normal. I mean, clicking on folders to open in the content library, using the sliders in parameters etc, typing in camera dimensions etc etc. That sort of thing. I've only just started using it in the last few weeks and I'm tearing my hair out. Like I said, rendering is good....but all the steps leading up to that, it's just incredibly slow.
These things are not slow for me. Generally rendering speed is a function of the GPU and the UI speed is a function of the CPU+DRAM+SSD you use. If you see an unexpected slow-down in the UI speed use the Windows task manager, or "top" on other systems, to find out if something else is messing with your computer. It's a typical symptom of malware, particuarly ransomware; it uses the CPU+DRAM+SSD bandwidth to lock up the computer.
Are you logging in to DS, or working offline?
A little over a year ago (12/2019 to be exact) I made the horrible mistake of installing a Studio 4.14 upgrade into my then-existing 4.12 through Install Manager. Studio 4.14 wouldn't open, and if it did, would shut down within a matter of seconds. Tech Support instructed me to install the 4.14 beta. To do that I had to change IM's download and installation protocols. Those changes were irreversible; from that moment Install Manager completely ignored all the items I've been installing since around 2013. So, if I wanted to remove something from my library I had to do it all manually, a very time-consuming prospect. And instructions I received from Tech Support did not help fix the problem.
But the purpose for my entry is I'm stll shell-shocked, so to speak, about installing upgraded Daz Studio software (4.15 to be exact) and thus be free of the beta 4.14. How can I be guaranteed that all the work I've done for the past 17 months (character development and creation specifically) will still be there and accessible? How can I be guaranteed that history won't repeat itself and this updated 4.15 will work fine?
As it did turn out, some of the resource files of 4.12 were corrupted by the 4.14 upgrade, which caused the problems I was experiencing.
And the last question, which I raised 17 months ago but never received a satisfactory answer - why can't the exe file for 4.15 (or any other version prior to that) be available for download by the artist for him/her to install as it used to be? Why does it have to be downloaded and installed only through Install Manager or even Daz Central? It was this, as mentioned earlier, that caused all of the problems I had, as well as caused the corruption of my Install Manager.
It sounds as if the paths you were using were non-default and were reset to the defaults - which should be simple to fix - or possibly as if you had nested content directories (one inside another) which might have led to the relative paths in saved files having a spurious extra folder (which can be fixed with a text editor, working on a copy of the files)
I can't offer guarantees, and you should not have had the issues you did have, but if it was an issue with the content directories then I would certainly not think it likely to recur. You could try using another system as a test, or save a scene using the base content and see if another person can get it to open correctly.
Which resource files?
The general release does have a stand-alone installer.
Please help. What is wrong with my Daz Studio???

Since Apple just announced a new version of MacOS maybe sometime next year? Or maybe sometime before the end of the Universe?
I really don't think that DAZ with come up with a version that will work on any modern MacOS system any time soon (I'll be the first to come here and say I was wrong if they make it by the middle of this year – that was their promise). In the worst case scenario, DAZ will just give up working on the MacOS code. I lost my faith in DAZ, period.
The chnages to Big Sur are, as far as I know, much more significant that usual - I would expect that a Big Sur update will then work on the enxt few updates without major issues.
We shall see what we shall see but I don't believe we will see much in terms of a MacOS version that runs in MACOS 11 or up. But hey, Daz, prove me wrong, please.
Why does 4.11 work on Big Sur OS but 4.15 won't?
Most probable answer is "Something was added / changed that makes Rosetta 2 fail"
I'm MAC user, were can I download DAZ Studio 4.11????
You might ask DAZ tech support if they'll let you have version 4.11.
New Studio driver: 471.11
Anybody know yet if it works well with 4.15?
