I hate public transportation, and big banks! I've been with the same credit union since the late '70s.

    ...humongous Wotans Day complaint.

Woke up and checked my emails this morning to find an overdraft notice from my bank

like "Huh?". I just deposited my paycheque for over 600$ on Saturday and still had a fairly healthy balance before these charges were assessed.

Well went to my account online and saw that I as hit with not just one but five individual overdraft charges on Sunday for 37$ each totalling 185$! So I callth bank and they say it was because I only has 100$ hile the check was "on deposit". On Deposit? Excuse Me? it as a bloody paycheque (not a personal cheque from a friend) that was issued by a multi-billion dollar multinational corporation that I could have cashed for the full amount at the supermart down the street for only a 1$ processing fee or one of those cheque cashing places. Yet my bank, which I have done business with for years, has some 100$ access restriction, that I was never informed of by the teller when I deposited the cheque, which supposedly triggered the overdrafts as the first thing I did that same day was reinstate my net service (100$ for the two past due bills + 50$ deposit).

This is absolute thievery. I got them to drop two of the charges and they are calling my branch to get the last three removed as I am not going to pay out of my meager earnings to line the pockets of overpaid bank executives.

After this gets sorted out (whichever way it happens), this Saturday I'm going to close my account and go to a credit union for it seems these days it's the customer who serves the bank rather than the other way around.

This totally did not make my day if not rest of the week.

    >:-( >:-( >:-( >:-( >:-( >:-( >:-(

Wow, that sucks! :ahhh: :ahhh: Yeah.. that seems to be modern banking, fee up up until you bail out. A credit union is a good idea.

it's like they kick ya when you're down.

Complaint: Super frustrated!!! :shut: :shut: :shut:

Got new hardware. Ran software on old hardware - looks mostly reasonable. Run software on new hardware - no go. Traced hardware from CPU to oscillator circuit - looks OK. BUT PAST THIS POINT IT'S PAST MY HARDWARE KNOWLEDGE, the hardware guy is at home sick, didn't take his laptop so he can't get email and he doesn't heck his personal email pretty much at all, so I'm trying to decode this schematic and learn third-year-college electronics and circuit design so that I can see if they built the board wrong. :shut: :shut:

Really tempted to pack up and go home, but I'm taking a 1/2 day off Friday to prep for the concert and do some shopping, so.. stuck here as I need the money. :blank: FEH, FEH, FEH! I'm totally unflated now! :long:

I did take a walk to the Gas-n-Go and feel better for it, a nice cup of Vienna Blend is helping, and I'm just going to punt on the problem for now.

One hour 45 minutes, go home, vodka and Diet Dr. Pepper and some ambient music and I should feel better.

Kind of slow downloading...hovering between 105KB/sec and 166KB/sec. I thought maybe it was a huge file until I checked the speed.

    Cool, though!

Welcome back Dana - how was the maple milk?

I'm on the public transport at the moment (train) - running on time ^_^. It's amazing to be able to read forums and post while the city whips by (>_>).

(and yeah, digital watches are a pretty neat idea, huh ;-) ).

...yeah I rank today's banks up there with loan sharks and robber barons. Doesn't matter that you've been a faithful long standing customer with a good record.

Just checked my account and the last three OD charges still haven't been removed and credited back to my balance. No callback, no voicemail, email, etc, nothing, from the branch (in spite of what I was told would occur today by the person I spoke with). Looks like I'm in for a fight as I'm not going to let them walk away with over one sixth of my first paycheque (111$). That's almost three weeks of groceries they are taking off my table.just so some exec or shareholder can fuel his/her yacht for an afternoon cruise on the bay.

There was once a time when banks actually served their customers, now they only serve themselves at their depositors' expense and anguish.

...after this morning's "rude awakening", it's Scots single row malt whiskey for this Bushido CG.

Thankfully the rest of the day went well, almost exceedingly so (though didn't win the Megabucks which is now up to 11.4$ million). Starting tomorrow we move to the "training bay" for the next to weeks taking live calls, fortunately with lots of coaching support. Surprisingly feeling rather up for it rather than dreading the thought.
