@fishtales You did a nice job on the blanket with the dforce. You said all the furniture is one figure? That is really inconsiderate for a vendor to do that\so you can't use separate pieces. What vendor is that?
The vendor was Dreamlight.
Today I used the DAZ-SPECIAL code to buy https://www.daz3d.com/everyday-household-items by maclean and i liked it very much:
37 props in 3DL and IRAY versions.
And a trashcan IRAY only:
If you read the description carefully you see that there are many morphs - as I didn't, I was really overwhelmed when I found out!
I mean - when I see a "kitchenroll" prop, I don't expect that I can make it thinner and pull out some paper:
Or the shopping bag with the morphs CARRY, FULL and WRINKLE + 3 additional material presets:
Now nothing is perfect, and if the camera angle doesn't match then you can't read the wall thermometer:
I have dialed both to 27 degrees, on the left the original, on the right the easily fixed one.
The glass surface seems to be the culprit: after dialing the Refraction Index to 1.0 or slightly above (here: 1.1), you get the result on the right.
The temperature (fluid) color can be easily chosen by the base color - very versatile!
No such problems btw. with the other thermometer.
Spoiled with all those morphs I expected also a dial for the irons' temp. settings - in vain. Still, by rotating the image in the Base Color Slot using the Layered Image Editor, some variation is also easily created:
LastIy I also wanted to mention the 6 plastic shaders (here: IRAY, but 3DL also included) which i like very much:
So i totally recommend this product to everybody needing props for contemporary household scenes. Absolutely love the versatility and quality - thanks maclean!
@mding Thanks for showing those! Maclean's series of Everyday items gives you your money's worth for sure! Ilike the paper towel roll the best.
Someone needs to do a toilet paper roll for the cats
And include the cat. I still adore Noodle, Pounce the Puma, but when I search cats, my fav isn't showing. That cat with the huge Puss n Boots eyes? I HATE Daz search! I did a render of it with a gal, sitting by the pool, but that was a year or two ago. What is that cat?
Maybe this https://www.daz3d.com/moshi-the-kitten
Yep! I kept trying Mooshi and Mooki and there is a critter like that- and definitely NOT adorable Moshi!
Are you thinking of Zeus? He was removed from the store. The vendor left the store. I believe Zeus is at another site now.
It is Just do a Google search for Cat Zeus and he'll show up
Oh thank goodness I have Cat Zeus, and the Siberian product for it too. Thanks @barbult for the reminder.
I bought esha's Chain Jewelry for Genesis 9.. It is very nice. It has a lot of adjustments. I had no trouble fiting it over this dress.
Oooh, that is pretty. Looks realistic.Who is the character? She is quite good too.
The Denver Zoo is offering a special Valentine Singles Day and showed two new babies to entice us there. One named Fiddle I had no idea what he was, but he was adorable. So a quick google and I found a YouTube announcing his birth. Right after that is a short of two Leucistic Raccoons that were rescued and now live at the zoo. Their salad looks pretty good too.
I thought the folks here might enjoy the cuteness.
@barbult, you never cease to amaze me and give me new things to enjoy. Thank you.
Mary
Fiddle is a Bongo.
Those are cute! The Gulf Breeze Zoo (The Zoo) here specializes in African animals, so it was fun while my sons were growing up to go there and walk the boardwalk which spans over a large, open area where different herds roam freely. I'll never forget the first Gnu I saw. Not the cutest critter, but interesting. As one game show participant put it, if it's a weird, short name, it's probably some sort of African antelope.
I used that 8.00 code to get these two items which were already significantly discounted. And because they were both in the same section, I got the additional 10% off too! What are you folks buying?

What code is that? The only one I got doesn't apply to new releases.
8$ off purchase of 18$+. Code: 02_23SAVE8 (DAZ+ Club only)
That coupon is supposed to exclude new releases so it's surprising it worked for you on those items.
Thanks. I have that but mine says:
I tried it anyway on the Items Novica got but it just came back "coupon code invalid". I wonder if there was a glitch that has been fixed.
oops, you are right, my bad, must have been another code, sorry!
On further investigation it looks like Novica may have used the regular DAZPLUS coupon for $6 off DAZ Originals instead of the $8 off one.
Oh shoot, you're right! I had two windows open and it was indeed the 6.00 Daz+. Sorry! But anyone with Daz+ those are a good way to use the code.
I have been buying calisthenics equipment instead of DAZ products. They are much more expensive so I have no money left over. I've been wanting to collect all those B.E.T.T.Y. products, have only a couple, and the new Paris streets, and the new accordian too.
If you've read the dire straits of that glacier that is THE big disaster- the melting had slowed but unfortunately stairstepping cracks are permeating through the glacier and causing more rapid melting (in other words, attacking the glacier more from the INSIDE to weaken it, instead of gradually erosion from the warm waters around it.)
Found a map showing the 10 foot rise, and you can also click the water drops to see an image of what the actual location looks like with 10 feet. There's sliders to go from 1 to 10 feet. Be sure and click those water drops- one shows Milton and that's only five minutes from my house, but we're high and dry. It's the Blackwater River that is going to rise and destroy the park which has the river going through it. Where Stetson is also stays dry (the peninsula jutting out) but water really encroaches on both sides of the peninsula.
Well, that is an interesting map. I looked at the Jacksonville, Florida area that I lived at for a while as a kid and one of the two houses stays above sea level, but the other near Mayport goes underwater. This is OK though as is already been torn down to redevelopment anyway as it was too near the beaches for real estate speculators to have continued to ignore it with the seemingly endless rising popularity of beaches and waterfront land. I can still remember reading as a kid Jacksonville is on average 10 feet above sea level. What these sea level rise predictions don't take into account though is how the increase water flows and circulation shift, remove and collapse earth. It's like a secret earthquake in disguise. Were such a sea level rise to occur it is most definately not the simple situation depicted on that map, as if someone's just run more water into a bathtub; instead it's as if someone pumped more air and water vapor into an earth sized tornado or hurricane. It would be catastrophic.
I had to go in real close to see changes on the West Coast. The sea gets a tad closer to my old home in Lompoc, and the area around San Francisco Bay Area that will be flooded looks to be the old reclaimed marsh land. And where I was a kid in Los Angeles, Westchester near LAX might get some near the marina. Looks stange with all those houses. My brother and I used to walk out towards the Hughes plant and play around in the bean fields that were out that way. Now just buildings, everywhere.
I can see why the military takes this seriously and is already building up for it.
I just returned a product that was so disappointing to me, that I feel the need to point it out, to save others the trouble. Of course, your needs and usage may differ from mine, so take that into account.
IM City and Park 16K HDRIs is a Daz+ item, and hence inexpensive, but to me, not usable. The HDRIs have terrible chromatic aberration and ghosting. The details of even the 16K HDRIs are blurry and smeared. This is not a case of me not knowing how to use HDRIs, or zooming way in to extreme focal lengths, etc. I don't even think the lighting produced by the HDRI is close to accurate, because the shadows of objects in the scene do not come close to the strength of the shadows of the trees, etc. in the HDRI dome. Free HDRIs on the internet from places like Poly Haven far exceed the quality of this product. I have already uninstalled and deleted it. The attached render examples are all the 16K (highest resolution) versions. See what you think.
