Where's the real Judy Love?

So Nirvana & Rarestone's new character is out - I was looking forward to this since the sneak peak in one of the promos for https://www.daz3d.com/all-sweet-poses-4th-youth-collection:

Sadly, what has been released is not even close to being the same character, from what can be determined from the promos:

    She got lost in one of the revisions.
    When she made her first show up at All Sweet 4th, she went through 25 revisions over and over again.

    Honestly, she kinda looks like there's another morph loading in on top of her.  Most of my g8.1 charaters look similar to her right now at first load because Tenley is loading in on top of them.

    If they choose to release the old version I'll buy it, but this one is a hard pass.

    Has anyone purchased her yet? Just wondering if she has any of the problems of previous models by this PA- I actually like her- though I wouldn't use her without a lot of tweaking.

    Is she the new shader? I can't tell- I'm not using anything with the new skin shader.

    ...lost here as she requires installing a relatively unstable version of the programme to support the newest Genesis generation that includes a new version of the Iray engine which takes up more system resources if you have an older GPU card because it is optimised for the latest RTX ones.

    I also agree the original version looks much sweeter.

    I much prefer the look of the first version.

    The one in the store does not speak to me, also I had some problems with prev. characters of this PA.

    Maybe I am missing something, but in looking at the all sweet poses promos, I see no mention of "Judy Love", so how is the Op connecting that one promo image to the released character?

    Well, RS mentions the pose collection in the description of Judy Love (https://www.daz3d.com/rn-hd-judy-love-81-and-judy-hair-for-genesis-8-females). If you look at the "all sweet poses" promos, you will see Judy Love mentioned in the second to last image.

    The character, as she was released, looks a little extreme. I might get her for mixing and the hair, but only later and at a big discount.

    This is the default load through the content library.  (Have not tried the Character preset yet)  She does use the PBR skin shader but she uses G8F UVs. Her smiles are cute I think. 

    Couple of things:  The face and body are not the same color.. I tried with and without spectral rendering to see if that would fix it and it does not. When she loads her eyes are pointed skyward.  Not a hard fix but annoying. Not sure whats going on with the left eyebrow maybe just lighting. I wanted to do a straight render with no adjustments only the lighting I added.  Shes found in the G8F folders- I under this is a preference but if its a G8.1F character it should be in that folder.....

    Did not check her out too carefully, but I think she's generally alright.  I've no complaints with the morph, so far.  We've kind of come to expect flaws with Nirvana/Rarestone stuff.  Hair's nice, but the morphs are inadequate, in that only the bottom bits of the bangs move.

    NB: These are both with the original textures with no tweaking.  Well, except for the eyes, ofc.

    Yeah, I didn't get into the hair. I love the look but the morphs are annoying that they only move the bottom.

    I honestly prefer slightly exaggerated / toony characters, since you can just scale head and smile sliders back at ~75% and would get more realistic character AND you still can have toon character as well. Basically 2 chars for 1.

    Don't own Judy Love char, but for Kayla remake to get here closer to 1.0 versions smile, try this:
    RN Kayla Head, RS Kayla Smile Expression = 75%
    Cheek Crease = 100%
    Cheek Flex-Slack = 100%
    Mouth Closed = 25%
    Mouth Smile = 80%
    Lip Bottom Up-Down = -100%

    So... if someone having Judy's character and All Sweet 4 poses, could post how she looks with her head and smile at 75% - would be great.
    Better still playing with Powerpose sliders I already posted, try to get smile closer to one in All Sweet 4 poses promo.

But woul generally like to work with a 8.0 base for the moment.

    Well it was news to me more or less. I was aware that 8.1 has new surfaces but it was always said that the mesh itself did not change. Well if so then why shall those 8.1 morphs not work on 8 if the morphs work the other way round. I just think that the transition could have been done way better with some projection morphs (to easily apply an 8.1 clothing on 8) and some other morph handling. So far I like the 8 shaders more and do not frequently use 8.1.

    Which version of DS do you use? G8.1 loads G8 morphs automatically only in 4.15.x

    Because G8.1 is set up to load morphs from the G8.0 library, but G8.0 is not set up to load morphs from the G8.1 library.

    It wouldn't be especially difficult to make it work if you really wanted, but it does not do it by default.

    The mesh didn’t change. However each of the figures has its own subfolder in “data” folder. In DS 4.15.x G8.1 loads automatically morphs from both the G8 and G8.1 data folders, so G8 morph work with G8.1. But G8 only loads them from the G8 folder. Morphs made specifically for G8.1 are located in G8.1 data folder so they don’t work with G8.
