Those shadows lift this to the next level.
Very expressive poses and gestures! Two enthusiastic thumbs up.
+1
a change of light
tweaking makes a big improvement !!!
only a few days to go
does anyone need a little more time???
let me know please !
I'm still going to try, but our van just broke while Rosie was driving it... she really lucked out! So now I'm off to a distant land to get a new steed.
~ is this AM or PM ?? thanx
_ And monitor gave out ,, so , idk
@Headwax I just noticed you have two #19 entries.
good luck i will extend a few days!
gah ., ! Technology ! Ill extend a few days!
ah knew i couldnt count wiill fix thanks!
Is it ok if I post my image to the DAZ gallery?
Certainly!
I'm sorry I have been so absent.
I went down many rabbit holes and kind of gave up, so thank you for the extension
Not sure if I can make a final entry but here is the general concept - the cat goes for a joy ride on a wizard's broom...and doesn't understand how to drive...
A loopy loopy path of particles will help tell the story
Very Cool!!!
@DesertDude, this is excellent!
I scored Big Time, and got a used 2008 Honda Odyssey EX in really great shape at a reasonable price.
Ran home and started working on finishing this up.
Sorc in Training
Perched upon the fire-breathing maw of a dragon, the sorceress launches her fury to the heavens!
Freebies in that thread will come - possibly tomorrow?
Here is the raw render from Carrara. In order to push the morphs far beyond their limits to get her hair like that, some of the polygons stretched into lines through the render.
Affinity Photo - I used the clone tool to remove those lines, then added a Live highpass filter applied using soft light in order to bring out more ofthe detail contained in the render, but not immediately visible to the eye. I also used some fog overlays - dragged mostly off the screen just to add some atmosphere. Using the Curves filter, I adjusted the red, green and blue levels individually in an attempt to make the colors look more magical
Finished it off in PD Howler - Used the lightning FX tool to add some magic to Rosie's spell and again by my sig. I also used its incredible color grading tools to adjust the whole look to taste, and added my signature.
It's a much larger image. It looses quite a bit of detail at 800px wide
After getting the scene together and figures posed, I used a single frame of an explosion video and mapped it to a plane. To keep it from distorting:
In PD Howler, I tweaked and tweaked and tweaked filter setting to create the alpha mask, since this was simply a screenshot from a video.
Rosie's spell effect is the same shader for the most part, except that I inverted the color maps.
Here we see how I nest my shader channels to get deeper colors using Gamma Correction at 2.2
To make it look more like the dragon is breathing fire instead of being on fire, I dropped a bulb down his throat and applied a Light Sphere effect to it
And here's my final camera framing
I also used "Materialize" to create my own Normal maps for both Rosie and the Dragon
Suggest 19A & 19B ?
DesertDude - top render !!!
Dart - great to see you in action !!!
Wow, such an amazing range of styles.
- Desertdude, the whimsy is magical and the modeling is top notch. Expression = greatness.
- Dartanbeck, action, adventure, and filmworthy FX. Spectacular.
I think Andrew may have been worried that there was not as much banter in the WIP thread early on, but patience has won out again. The entries thread will be wonderful.
Bravo Carrarians.
ha ha yes, you read my mind :)
thanks I'll try cut and paste it on the end with another number and insert 'hiccup' on original post :)
wow Dart that's a fire breathing render. Thanks for the blow by blow and the heads up on the materail software. Good to see affinity photo getting a work out.
They have some good macro's too.
Also some good tone mapping presets available as well
Great news that you are on board
Greetings Desert Dude, that is a cracker of a render. The expression on the cat is priceless! And the fact you make your own meshes - superb!
Great that you have time to put something in - thank you.
revisiting previous image of the four wizards with NPR and custom brushes - not an entry, bit of postwork with affinity photo and filter forge and waterlogue
I had a few moments to do a quick update with some postwork. The biggest change is to make Galadriel's hair more golden. Tough choice because I didn't want to take away from her ring. I am going to swap out my entry while there is time.
Dartanbeck - Thank you
Vyusur - Thank you
Bunyip02 - Thank you
Headwax - Thank you
I can sort of manipulate 3D software but can't figure out how to Quote multiple people in a post on a software forum.
I felt like I could do this before but now I'm taken to a separate page where it looks like I have to post that one quote?
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks In Advance
