We had maybe 8" here, but having temperatures between 0C and +4C (32-39F) for a week with some rain even, there was not much snow left until a couple of days ago it started snowing again.

Looks like the temperature is going to go up and down for the next two weeks above and below freezing, not bad for a January, but there's still February that could bring back the low temperatures.

I walked outside earlier, but it made my nose cold.  Now that nose feels stuffy.  The ground is getting to be white outside.

...will be dry with pretty normal temperatures here for the next week.  In Wisconsin we would have the "January Thaw" here we get the "January drought".  Yesterday it was sunny and 59° at the airport (in the low 60s in other parts of the city).

Yeah, read about both Meatloaf and Louie Anderson earlier this morning. Sad.

    McGyver said:

What the hell... Louie Anderson too?...

Yet all the old-as-sin headline holding problem makers of the world are doing just fine... I wanna hear one of them kicked the damn bucket for once, instead of Betty White, Sidney Poitier, Bob Saget or some other halfway decent person... It's like being a bastard helps you live longer.

    ...agreed.

It is still all rain here. It is expected to change to snow about 9 or 10 pm and accumulate up to 3 inches overnight.

Complaint, so far it looks like one of my monitors has died, was completely black when I woke up but the OS or Nvidia control panel don't realize it's 'dead', changing settings in Nvidia control panel makes it wake up for a brief moment before it goes black again... Have to dig in deeper in the evening once I get back home.

Not looking forward to getting a new one as all three are the same model (HP LA2405wg) and finding one would not be easy.

I got a package stolen in December.  It was on my front porch for about half an hour, but I never found it.  I don't know who took it.

I don't have a bone saw or any good method of cutting hands off.  Also I don't know who the thief was.  I rather have my package instead of the thief's hand.

Lots of good uses for hands.  Have you never heard of finger-food?  Or palm oil?  And if you collect enough fingernails & bones you can make gelatin.yes

Today is actually worse than yesterday with the forums and store... an average of 35 - 50 seconds (I timed it on 12 attempts) reaction time for every attempt to load a page... if it loads and doesn't crash... I was trying figure out how to do something, but the hell with this, it's actually less frustrating to figure it out for myself...

(in the middle of writing this I got a bad gateway error)

Thats it... I'm outta here for today... enough of this 90s dial-up AOL nostalgia...

    Cheers folks.

Non-complaint  (if I can get it posted before a crash):  Wheee..., I found a source for an affordable h/w TPM2.0 module for my MommaBear computer.  It needs one of those little Asus 14 minus 1 pin add-on devices for the my Asus Prime B360M-A motherboard to satisfy Win11 requirements.  For a while they weren't available at all, then they started showing up at over $100.  The best price at Amazon is currently $75.  But I just found one at NewEgg for $21.  Yay!  Much more reasonable.  Ordered!  This one: https://www.newegg.com/p/36X-00G7-00001?Item=9SIAX3GGPN4158 ; I hope it works.

This TPM module stuff is infuriating.frown  Where's the #$%#@$#@g standard???  Even just within Asus boards there seems to be at least three different TPM module types with different numbers of pins and different placement of plug keying.  I already goofed once and ordered the wrong device (had key pin in wrong postition).  I hope I've finally found the correct one.

Complaint:  Five crashes and 17 hours to complete this post.angry

Yep... It's dead, luckily I had an extra monitor but it's just 1920x1080...

Have to take the HP to a repair guy if he could fix it.

I bought 7 boxes of poptarts.  The first box was split between 3 people (myself and two housemates).  I remember finishing the second box recently.  I couldn't remember if I opened a third box yet.  I got both the empty boxes and put them on my desk.  I put all the unopened in a different area.  There weren't any that was open but not empty.  Huh?

edit! This why I said Huh?

In end it turns out I have 5 unopened boxes of poptarts and two empty.  I haven't opened a third box yet.

We have a lot of black bears and a few bobcats. They can mess you about as well as a tiger.
