Little Mermaid-ish idea, not the live-action Disney remake, though.
It's a good concept.
Had to be older female (look at all them shoulders *drool, drool*)... but I like the under-sea stuff better as I don't really work in the period/style of the dresses.
Which bundles are other people looking at and at what pricing?
If I pick up a bundle, anyway, I'm leaning towards the Seas the Day bundle (which I probably will never use but I'm a sucker for mermaid stuff), which I see at $35.80.
The mega bundle is like $65 and change for me, I think.
It's a lot of stuff I probably wouldn't use.
I love her... But I don't have enough money for any of the bundles...
I am curious if the tail for Coral works on g8.1 male. I think I prefer it to Zale's eel tail.
I can't tell from the details but it doesn't look like the tail and gills etc can be applied to any character, it looks like the mermaid version is a custom full character?

Buying something to get a $60 coupon on "selected DAZ items" without knowing what those items are is a risky move. For anyone who has been around for a while, the usual "selected DAZ items" are starting to look pretty picked-over and uninteresting.
If you don't have a large library already, then the chance of a $60 shopping spree in DAZ's back catalogue is a pretty good offer. But for others it might be no more than the chance to pick up $60 worth of things you've already decided you don't want.
In future sales, I hope DAZ will start to give a little more guidance on what the selection is likely to be, just to spare their customers $60-worth of disappointment when the day comes.
Geografts will only work on the figure they were made for (which this tail is). They're very particular.
They tail/gills can be applied to any G8/8.1 (though for G8 you need to load it unparented and change the base in the scene ID to G8F). The base coral tail materials won't work with any figure though. There are addon characters (not all have been released) that allow you to use the tail materials over any character skin. You just have to copy the torso material from your base figure to the tail (making sure the correct shader is applied first).
Some of the items in the $60 off category didn't work with the discount but darnit, this one looks great to me top to bottom. Now I need to write some underwater story for a 3D comic. Geez.
Thank you. I don't really understand why the transition isn't simply an alpha channel so it blends into the underlying torso. There are several products that work that way. To me this makes Coral 8.1 a useless figure which is unfortunate because the tail design is fantastic.
Edit: I guess it's because it's a geograft instead and there's no script taking the torso texture and using that to blend.
I think you're talking about a geoshell over the tail, which is what the addons I referred to do. It's a tradeoff doing it that way. As a base skin, it's *really* better to keep it all together like they did. But don't write her off yet. There are some gorgeous tails that *are* available for all character skins that should come out shortly, so keep an eye out.

My first quick render. First one is out of the box, no lighting. Only edit is I added a shader to the bikini top to make it a bit pinker. Second one uses luminosity black lights and photoshop to add water. I love the little fish character too and can't wait to play with the rest of the items in the bundles.
Is this write up on the Coral HD page correct? By this description, it sounds to me that we would get the base character, too.

The pro bundles we used to get I could at least use some and quite often most of the items.
So often these days, I find myself with little use for most items, except where the bundle appeals. I tend to find them to targetted.

I think this time they released all three bundles at once. There are add-on characters in the pipeline, though.
Zale got 3 bundles, which is what Coral got. Coral's were just all released on the same day.

What is the outfit being used in Corals promos?
Was a good promo. Got a gift card to start with. Used that to buy the Mega Bundle as there are quite some things in it I like. Could only use the 30% with it as I do not own any Zale bundle yet and did not want to get one for the current prices. Added the Poseidon Pirate Ship from PW and 4 other items from my wish list which already had a 50% discount on them so the extra 70% brought them further down. Plus the 5 DAZ Originals plus one free HD-AddOn for Aubrey. Also applied the $6 from $18 coupon to bring the price down to around $100. Fair deal for all that stuff IMO. - Ended with also getting that Mehrloc Hair from one of the Zale bundles using the $6 on DAZ originals coupon.
Enough shopping for the moment. Guess I'll wait for Jinx Jones with my next purchase - as long as the usual suspects do not release some must-have's before.
