Not much time to Internet. It's been three hours without power. Turned batteries back on to get a forum fix. 3 pages in 3 hours. Wow.

Not much to add, except that I love real maple syrup. It's time to renew my stock. Should be a good season here. over two weeks of freezing nights and thawing days. Trees get their juices flowing.

l hope power comes on before I go to bed. I've gotten addicted to the electric blanket and there's no heat in the house.

It's kind of surreal to be Interneting by candlelight! 8-s

My battery says it has 19 minutes left.

Hope that is back on soon.

Four and a half hours without power. Outside temperature was 28F. Inside temperature was not comfortable. I spent most of the late afternoon sitting in my recliner with a hoodie on and my granny blanket pulled up around me while listening to music on my MP3 player & headphones till its batteries died. I wanted a cup of tea. I had gas for the stove and matches to light it but I didn't have any water because the pump reservoir was drained. I was about to go crawl in bed fully clothed when the lights came back on at 7:45 PM.

Back in 2004 I went through 3 or 4 days alone without power in Florida after one of the four hurricanes that went through Melbourne that year. Windows were sealed shut and it was August and a tree was sticking through the roof.

Oh, that sounds like a lot of fun! :smirk:

I read a news report saying that winds were 40 kp/h. Southeast Victoria is under a weather storm warning.

Kulay Wolf, thanks for answering my question. I thought it was a poser cloth. Wow, that is a nice outfit.

    ...I think it is.

Tree pollen already beginning to aggravate the ol' allergies.

Been light for over 12 hours each day.

Been around 60° pretty much all weekend even though it's been kind of wet (got caught in a downpour Friday evening which put me a bit under the weather along with the allergies) .

Supposed to reach the mid 70s this week here,

Maybe it was routed through Dallas DFW or Atlanta to get there and missed it's connection.

Our high point this week will be Thursday, when it will get to about 53. It's back downhill after that. :blank:

daz studio is easier to install for me than poser so it is usually installed after a web browser after a computer reset.

i think i need a new pillow as my current twins keep trying to make me feel like i do not want to leave them. or maybe it is the blankets that try to convince me not to leave the bed.

any way the alarm clock is not convincing me well enough to wake up.

You really need to do a reset that often? There's something wrong if you do. You must get a lot of viruses. In all the years I've been using Windows I don't think I've ever had to do a reset. One time I had to wipe it for a particularly nasty virus. Once or twice my motherboard died (I put them through hell, and don't upgrade very often). And I've had the C: drive die on my twice. But that's it. I've been using PCs since 1991, and before that I used Diane's Commodore 64 for a year or two at least.

Agreed. I currently have this PC and the one before this one both working perfectly well. This one is just over 2 years old. The other one was built for me in January 2006, still has Win XP on it and I am somewhat ashamed to admit it has never had the case opened since I have had it.

It worked hard and well for me from Jan 2006 until this one arrived in Septmeber 2012, and is still doing Himself a turn, although he doesn't work it as hard as I used to.

I rarely get suspicious e-mails. A day or so ago I got one that looked suspicious but turned out to be legitimate. Today however, I got one that was an obvious attempt to get me to open an attachment, so I just deleted it. When I'm suspicious I read the raw text of the message with the "Properties" feature of WindowsLiveMail reader. It lets you see all the gobbledy-gook and the embedded text to help you get the gist of what they're trying to say without actually opening or activating anything in the mail. Most good mail apps that actually reside on your computer will give you that option. It's one of the reasons I prefer them over web based email readers.

I've had so many computer customers who are riddled with viruses over and over and it invariably comes from e-mail or games or web advertisements. I like their money but I'm tired of dealing with their problems because they won't follow my security advice. I'm so glad that I'm almost completely retired from that service. I only have a couple customers that I can't say "no" to yet.

...would make a good place for a "shady deal" to go down as well.

Actually reminds me a bit of the blind ally the players in my old Shadowrun campaign cornered a bunch of gangers.who kidnapped the person they were looking for.
