dforce only male clothing often doesn't look right, and therefore might not sell well. Of course this would discourage PAs who make dforce only clothing from launching products for males, but this is just a vicious cycle if PAs choose to make dforce only male clothing items. Pure Dforce male clothing are easier to make... fast cash I know. But hell no, I would not spend money on paper thin tubes to dress my male characters. Good quality male clothing items will always sell well, be it dforce or not. Though I 100% understand and respect that some customers here only buy skimpwear... or do they actually prefer the birthday suit?
Looks really great.
Still it would only end in my shopping cart if the jacket can be opened and jacket and tie work with dForce or got a shipload of morphs to simulate natural movement. Having pants that have some open and pull down morphs or can at least be dForced to slide down would be a plus, too...
The above is probably the main reason for me not buying much male clothes here, as nearly all of those clothes are not flexible enough to enact actual living. I don't do "fashion shoot" renders, so clothes that only look "real" in certain poses don't do it for me. Neither do clothes that look not proper to be worn in public, but only in a Darkroom (looking at you, Dzheng...)
I see opportunity for someone. Make quality male clothing and sell at DAZ. We will buy them up. Yes?
I have found myself checking at Shinteo's for clothing (both genders) that isn't high society and/or brand spanking new, they may need smoothing, but there are some that are just what I'm looking for.
This is an area that I would like to get into. I started creating a fantasy outfit about 2 months back but got distracted with another project. I will probably get back to it in the new year once my current project is done and dusted. This is still an early WIP. (The buttons on the legs are coming off. They are a pain to deal with and they are going to be hidden by boots anyway) Out of curiosity, what era are you all looking for? Modern, fantasy etc
All I've got to say is the female clothing must make REALLY good money. And most of it's easier and faster to publish for sale too because the more skin your outfit shows, the less effort on actually making the clothing, and the more buyers come ready to pay you for doing less. How can you beat that if you are DAZ 3D or a PA trying to maximize profits?
Which appears to say a lot about women's take on the heirarchy of value.
Men started this fashion thing and they let it carry them away for few centuries or so, then they wised up and started being at least semi-practical and unflighty, except for a few excentrics of dubious sexual preference.
Then women latched onto it and took it into regions hither-to unimagined. And so here we are.![devil devil](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/devil_smile.png)
That looks so promising, I'll be waiting! Thanks for the heads-up!
For me it's clothes like those I am used to see out on the streets. With morphs to fit them to situations that happen in everyday life. Rolled up sleeves, unbuttoned shirts/jackets, rapper pants that threaten to slider lower down the backside than it would be sensible for a person with half a brain...
What I don't need are extremely situational clothes, like those of a spanish bullfighter, extremely regional stuff like the historical outfits shown on certain holidays in rural germany (which nobody ever wears except for maybe 2 days of the year) and the slightly damp dreams of cloth design students (or wannabes) which (will/would/should) never make it to production, due to being either non-practical and/or outright so weird that they tend to make my eyes bleed...
But I'm just a special snowflake, so feel free to ignore me.![wink wink](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/wink_smile.png)
Another likeminded here...
Normal, everyday, average Joe/Jenny clothing that you can see worn on the streets (not those streets) and/or clothing that's worn in the privacy of ones home when doing everyday mundane chores in or outside the house
Era... from 150 years ago to current
Edit: Something else than T-Shirt and Jeans...
Older military uniforms, that are not based on the modern US aesthetics. Very useful for fictional, retro-futuristic worlds - Steampunk, Dieselpunk, etc. too.
Think pre-WWI Western European styles, such as British, Austro-Hungarian, Imperial German, French, etc. Closed collar, with rank insignia mainly on the collar pads.
Something like these:

I would love to see something akin to the female Universal Dress product, with quite a few add-ons allowing many styles, or perhaps field and ceremonial uniforms of the same style. Maybe add-ons with different rank styles. Accessories for different genres.
I would love a proper cavalry uniform, with a cavalry helmet (dragoon style, perhaps?), which would go nicely with a pose pack and a saddle pack for Daz Horse 2.
My dream would be to have matching male and female versions of the same uniform, so that I could depict scenes with both males and females belonging to the same army.
I'll take every era and fantasy and scifi.
I found some good clothes ( OBJ files based on Genesis 8 ) at Art Station Marketplace
For the record, just to be a voice to any PAs watching, I'm primarily interested in male clothing also.
As someone who has played a lot of MMOs, I'm always tickled when someone says there's only so many male outfits that can be made to look different.
I would absolutely love some more Tera / GW2 / ESO / WoW style male outfits/armours. There's so much variety, even just in those four games. There's a lot that can be done, and I agree, I just don't find the quality of male outfits to be as good. And yea, I imagine quality male outfits, especially armour, take more time, and should demand a higher price for that, and that's fine by me. But I find that male clothes often feel 'saran wrapped' on (especially on bodybuilder bodies), the textures feel off, and there aren't any morphs, especially, yea, undress morphs. I know that there's multiple problems that don't have easy fixes, but it doesn't change my disappointment.
Have you found a good way to import and use them in Daz? I've purchased a few dresses and tried importing following some tutorials but the fits weren't good and trying to pose them in the obj imported clothes was terrible- and that was just a one layered dress- nothing as complex as a layered suit or similar outfit. Would love to be able to use some of the clothes on Artstation though-so many cool designs.
I would but I'm just not comfortable with the rigging and morphing of the clothing. I've thought about for the last 17 yrs I've been a PA. I've done several wearable items but they just sit on the shelf and now would need major updates because the figures are so much different. Completely different poly flow and such. I'll just stick with my props and environments
Generally I use dForce for the poses but I need to reduce the polygon count with Blender Decimate tool.
So you take it into Blender then import into Daz? I tried dforce without Blender and it either explodes or takes forever. If Blender is easier this might be the push to finally move over to it![smiley smiley](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.png)
Yes more stuff like this! But can we have a jacket that opens and a tie not rigged completely to the torso bones?
I admire your attention to detail if that doesn't look good to you cause it sure does look good to me. LOL
Gens (anatomical whatevers): Not!.
nope, extra. LOL
...exactly.
Post WW I pre WW II laborers - think post-1929 New York; bridges and skyscrapers to build; subways to tunnel out; push-cart merchants; longshoremen - baggy worn cotton and woolen trousers and jackets, beat up work boots and shoes. Slightly upscale, dressiers outfits - white shirts with sleeve garters and ties - foremen, office workers - and lower level organized crime running the protection rackets, booze, and the numbers games.
...I've continually questioned the need for dForce on most contemporary male clothing is rather close fitting save for maybe a long trench coat, shop apron, or scarf.
Also would like to see more unbutton and unzip morphs (the latter particularly for jackets) which also applies to females as often items like blouses and button front dresses are permanently open to mid chest level to show off cleavage and have no "button up" or "close" option. .Some of what is supposed to pass as business clothing in the store here would get one sent home to change into something less revealing.
But like a few other's here I'm in that minority who would like to see good quality everyday clothing like the average person would wear.
One of the few more specialised styles I would like to see is a proper London Bobby (and not just for G8.1).complete with helmet, nightstick, and ticket book.

I am sure there is a genesis 1 or 2 version too but cannot think of the name
...there was some 1930s/40s styled clothing for Gen 4 .that came our around the same time as all the carnival sets.
Looks totally like the clothes the average male around here wears every day...
/irony off
The thing is, we get loads of stuff for "special occasions". Piracy... Wild West (up to a given amount of "realistic looks"), Vikings (see Wild West about "realistic looks"), Science Fiction (up to a given amount of "functionality"), Cyberpunk and/or Post-Apocalypse (which usually doesn't need any "realistic looks" and/or "functionality", which makes it easy to design it seems)... but nearly no "working as in real life" clothes. Neither for males nor females. There's a handful of PAs (and mostly at other shops...) who offer a limited amount of clothes like this. And tons who just copy all the same kind of "cloth designer's dream" outfits, that look really neat, but when goes for the details couldn't even taken off due to lack of buttons/zippers/flexibility of material to pull them over one's head/whatever...
