Hans 8.1 - not a bad looking figure.
Gotta say though, I've been waiting for a tradition fairy tale prince outfit for awhile, and we got two: Holiday Ballet Outfit and Nutcracker Uniform.
Though, two texture packs for the Holiday Ballet Outfit, yet none for the Nutcracker Uniform?

I was hoping for at least one pair of male ballet slippers. Oh well. I do like the figures though.
No interest in Hans, so I just grabbed the Nutcracker doll bundle and a few add-ons.
I agree, the Nutcracker Uniform looks amazing. It would be great if the JoeQuick added more texture variations.
The Epaulettes on the Holiday Ballet outfit are not great... but I do like that outfit and the Nutcracker Uniform in that they might fit into a general era of outfits with the dforce Naval Uniform and the cuirassier-ish outfit from Headless Horseman.
Not sure which bundle I'll pick up, but the outfits in this have more general usage for me than the Clara 8.1 bundles. I can see myself using these outfits and/or kitbashing with them.
Happy to get a male, even though his facial skin could be more interesting.
Seemed like a gift, getting the bundle for $8.73 after the discounts. Holiday Ballet Outfit looks very flat and odd in the pics.
I was a little worried by the wording in the banner coupon, because it suggested that I would have to buy both bundles in order to get the $10 off.

Trying out Hans with Carboncrow's Nanda and 'Finest Classical Ballet Poses'
I gotta say, I'm not wild about the 'mega' bundle, in that it appears to have less than the old $120 pro bundles. Two figures (though the Nutcracker is maybe quite single-use and un-kitbashable), one hair, two outfits (that are fairly similar, tbh), one environment and two poses. Plus HD and a metamixer, if people want that. Like, idk, the merman/aid mega bundles had huge amounts, but it's been steadily diminishing since then. Add to it that the deal is the whole '10 from each category' rather than a single list limits it further.
It comes to $54 for me (no banners for me, I've been saving money like a nerd), but the worst part is my mind is like 'woah, it costs $54 and I get $50 content *free*!??!?' And I gotta remind myself that it isn't free, it's still $50, especially since I don't know if I'd buy that many items from the bundle anyway.

No. That is the problem with Daz, you don't buy everything, you fall below the banner threshold and without the banners it is difficult to climb back with much lower discounts.

It's always a struggle, matching skin tones between different PAs when you pair characters together. Everyone's lights are different, and the trans settings can come with wildly variant design considerations.

No orange banner here because I didn't get any of the prior bundles. Ballet is not my thing, and the tu-tu ballet outfits are less useful than the militaristic ones in this Nutcracker themed set of bundles.
I just think about all the money I saved by not spending money at the time.
It's $50 worth of stuff you've probably already passed on but on top of that the $50 is at at 30% discount when these items are usually 70%+
I only bought the last Joe Quick bundle which was $17 with 3 free items (mostly passed on a few times but still useful, although I got the Rarestone fairy costume which was way too high poly for my needs, so wasted).
The banner was for $10 off one of the bundles today (because I bought the Mouse King bundle) and all I wanted again was the JQ bundle. I had it in the cart and thought it was $18.73 with the discount but..... $8.73 :)
The addons at $5 each were all pretty useless. I usually fall into the trap and over spend but I limited myself to $4.99 in each list, so had to pass on the last list as there was nothing lower than $15.
Maybe slightly regret not getting the first Mega but the second Mega is poor.

The Nutcracker outfit looks fantastic!
The Holiday Ballet outfit pales in comparison, those epaulets look very G3 and should probably have been dForce.
The Nutcracker himself looks very cool as well, very creative! But I'll be honest, I don't think I have use for that figure.
Hudson hair looks like a great basic hair.

I like hans. I picked him up. Hopefully he will work in place of the lamented M8.1 as a good mixer. We shall see.

I can get the Hans down to $31. It's still a lot though. Although I'm disappointed that the Nutcracker Uniform isn't in the The Nutcrack Prince bundle. I know everything is included in the Mega Bundle, but I can't buy that either. ^^'
Agreed. I'm thinking very seriously about throwing this fish back. Every DO base character since Torment has been substandard compared to what came before in the Genesis 8 line. The only one I've really liked since is Wolfgang.
Okay, that explains why I didn't get one. I'm not sure I want him. He looks like he was made by Faber, but I'm not sure. And he looks so much like M8.1
And his renders are so nice, but I kinda feel like I can mix up a similar look with what I have already. Not getting those massive discounts kinda keeps my money in my pocket
I got a refund. More droopy eyes and the eyes didn't even look like they were pointing correctly. I just wasn't pleased. Kept the Nutcracker doll tho ;)
Thank you! I couldn't put my finger on who he looked like, you're right it's M8.1. I guess if you want to have the adult version of the character along with him as a college kid it could work.

Just wanted to clarify Michael 8.1 wasn't the starting point for this character. I personally don't see the likeness, his face and body features are totally different, but I understand as well that his final overall look is a young blond guy like Michael 8.1. In this case, the original tale character has a certain appearance you need to consider and decided to respect "the prince charming" look.
You did a wonderful job, Faber. Love your guys! He jumped right into my cart to join the rest of your crew in my runtime :)
Something is very wrong with Hans 8.1 Add-on for MetaMixer. When I load the Hans 8.1 MetaMixer Widget A, Widget B, or Widget C, it loads Holt 8 morphs instead (as shown in the Parameters pane Currently Used).
Edit: Yup, it is screwed up. An examination of the Hans 8.1 MetaMixer_Widget_A.dsf shows Holt hard coded in there.
