Oh wow. Now this should be a promo. It should be the main promo!
Good job. Speaking of which I remember the name Dalhousie being used in another context within the past 5 years and that was in regards to a new method of removing tattoos that doesn't involve lasers (I have one I considered removing). That method was developed by Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia and so I thought, that is an odd name to show up so often but as it turns out the university was named after your Great Uncle's Great Great Great Grandfather in the early 1800s.
Thank you very much... i love to doodle away in Daz (often aimlessly) so jumping on an opertunity inspired by a forum post resulting in a lovely comment like that is very satisfying.
Daz has issued an update to the Hans 8.1 MetaMixer Add-On (which was originally loading Holt 8 morphs instead). I believe it is correct now.
If you were so inclined you could trace the lineage back much much further than the 1800s... to 1140 in fact when the name Simundus de Ramesia first appeared on record in Scotland and who was the founding member of the Clan Ramsay, later in1296 William Ramsay titled Ramsay de Dalwolsey (Dalwosley being an area of Midlothian Scotland later to become Dalhousie) first appears on record and King Edward I of England stopped over at his castle on the way to defeating William 'Braveheart' Wallace...However Ramsay would later switch sides, riding out with Robert the Bruce and reportedly swinging his mighty broadsword at the battle of Bannockburn in 1314... forever changing the path of Scotland's history.
Much later in1633 the then Lord Ramsay of Dalhousie was made Earl of Delhousie a title held to this day by the current Chief of the clan Ramsay.
By the way (and this is now a little embarrassing
) to my knowledge i am in no way related to the Ramsay Clan being myself a descendant of the McCreadys ... i did point to this in my original post when i admitted that Google had told me about Sargents connection to the Earl not father! lol
Thank you (i think you put more effort into it than me though)
i don't usually go for male bundles but at the price it came in at and it being part of the larger Nutcracker/Ballet theme (which i am fond of) i couldn't really refuse and i'm glad i didn't.
You speak of just a direct paternal Y line but that is ultimately a tiny fraction of your ancestry and what to many researchers get hung up on in trying to build their trees. I have done genealogy ever since, as a elementary school boy, my maternal Grandmother told me about her ancestors. I have even done multiple DNA tests from the earliest commercial genealogical ones were available in the early 2000s and made the results public for the police and medical professions to use in their research. I think because it was my mom's dream to end all crime since I was a boy, I donated that DNA, even though I'm not involved in police or medical science personally.
Anyway, I've even done a few partial manual DNA triangulations in my genealogy research myself too. If you think 3D modeling is tedious, it doesn't compare to manually sifting through all those family tree written records data and the associated DNA data of hundreds, even thousands of users after the computers' algorithms have eliminated all the complete non-matches. Tedious to say the least.
Anyway genealogy as a idle chitchat dinner conversation piece: According to Geni.com (some of their data is very accurate, while other of their data is very tenuous) I am the 13th Cousin Once Removed of the 14 Earl of Dalhousie Arthur Ramsay. To finish it off: I have no blood relation to Oscar Wilde but do have distant in-law relation to his sister. And John Singer Sergeant is my 9th Cousin Thrice Removed. They got all the money and talent and all I got was a DAZ T-Shirt. Oh well. Those sort of distant # x Great Grandparents being ancestral to almost anyone with any European ancestry is common, so it isn't a surprise to me anymore, it used to be though, but the population of the world was relatively tiny back then in comparison to today's population. Also: the weather here will be dry and cool with highs in the upper 40s and lows in the mid 30s.
Yes, DNA is going to be game changing from so many medical and security perspectives; and that the DNA of each person is so unique it offers the best protection possible from bungled investigations, malicious frame jobs, and medical research.
@AllenArt, there's finally a pair of male ballet slippers in this new pack: https://www.daz3d.com/ballet-icon-gala-outfits-for-genesis-81-female-and-genesis-81-male. I don't think they have proper soles, but they're a good start! Also, the female pointe shoes look a little more realistic, they seem to have a small platform even. And the tutu is much nicer than in the Clara pack. Just FYI.
