    OMG! Stranger than fiction.

Remember a few days ago I flippantly proposed the plot line of the "Bones" TV show finding a body in manure? Well, this is the news of the day near Buffalo.
    http://www.buffalonews.com/city-region/wyoming-county/attica-farmer-killed-when-fight-got-out-of-hand-20150421

Not exactly the same situation I had outlined, but I guess the wife just had enough of his shit and put him in it!

And the irony of the family name being "Mess" is not lost.

Consider the difficulties in rendering a 3D scene like that properly! :ohh:

    Ewwww...that stinks! :smirk:

....ugh, that's really a "crappy" way to go.

At least the was trying to recycle the body... :blank:

Feeling halfway decent today.. got some new antui-spasmodic for my guts and it seems to work better, with fewer side-effects. Gut mostly quiet today...

Rain, rain, rain. We need it so I'm not complaining, and I have both an umbrella and a large poncho so I'm ready for it!

Going to play Divine Divinity again tonight, got killed last time - never take a dagger to a party of 3 Orcs.. :blank:

    Back to work, work, work...

I received enough new "favorite artist" followers a couple weeks ago to put me on the charts for about 4 days in a row. Was nice that people follow my work. :)
Most of them tend not to comment, but sometimes that's a good thing.

The first cut at mastering the album is done and I've sent links to 2 trusted listeners for a critique. Am scared.. :red:

Ordering new monitor headphones this weekend, $200 headphones (Sennheisers) recommended by a friend that runs his own studio.. this is almost as expensive as a content addiction.. :blank:

Listened to my album again tonight, on earbuds.. amazingly accurate and these are just $30 buds.. wow..

Considering my second album now. I'm a masochist, should quit while I'm ahead.. :blank: ..but what the heck, I couldn't finish my novel but I got an album done! :cheese: :cheese:

Drinking Old Thought Provoker and thinking.. where to go next. I feel a need to balance out the unrelenting darkness of this album with something uplifting and light. :) I know what Album 3 will be, should I live that long... :-S Need a theme for #2..

I think I'd rather have a wired headphone set for studio use. Wireless can pick up noise, I think. I could be wrong.

Sennheiser makes very good equipment. I bought one for vocals in a band I had in the late 70's. Damn good microphone! It was a "pistol grip" style. Similar to the MD421, if not exactly. The only problem was the mic stand mount, which was part of the body. It seemed to be a design flaw, too. I saw a lot of videos of big name bands that had that mic, and they always had the tape wrapped around that mount, like mine. The thing cracked or weakened. I still have it.

Also had a pair of Beyer Dynamic M500 ribbon hyper cardioid mics. They were also outstanding. I saw a lot of bands using them, like Styx. Phil Collins used a Beyer Dynamic, but a different model...the one he used had the flattened ball screen, the M500s screens were totally spherical. I still have them, but a friend borrowed them. He's the only one I trust with equipment. Nobody else will ever borrow any of my musical equipment. People just don't take care of your stuff. But he takes care of it like it's his own. And he's very particular.

My current cans lasted me 4 years, but travel takes its toll and the earcups aren't replaceable.

My last HD280s were great but a friend of my housemate at the time decided they were going to go home with her.. he got the boot but I never got the cans back.

I see HD380s for about $100, those might be "good enough" - good frequency response and pretty flat. Saves $100 for content or synth patches (lol)!

I've found that one advantage of getting old is that I can get by with less expensive headphones, since I don't hear anything above 4000Hz anyway. "Headphone distortion"=bad :-S but "headphone frequency response"=meh :smirk:

But the disadvantage of the 4000Hz thing is that I have tinnitus that continually rings at about 4000Hz and is just barely audible but is always there so I need continual background noise to keep it from being noticeable and driving me bonkers. Dead quiet spaces make me feel like I'm falling into a pit with the ringing getting closer and closer and louder and louder. But any other sound even very quiet sound yanks me up out of the pit and drowns the ringing. Thus I don't complain about road noise in my car, the TV is always on in the house, and the radio next to my bed is always on playing classical music all night.

And yeah, I discovered Sennheiser headphones also. I have a collapsible pair of PX360's that fits in my small travel music case with my MP3 player. I use them in the car sometimes because my car radio has a damaged speaker system and rattles (*erk*) :-S
