    My current cans lasted me 4 years, but travel takes its toll and the earcups aren't replaceable. :down:

    My last HD280s were great but a friend of my housemate at the time decided they were going to go home with her.. he got the boot but I never got the cans back. :down:

    I see HD380s for about $100, those might be "good enough" - good frequency response and pretty flat. Saves $100 for content or synth patches (lol)!

    I've found that one advantage of getting old is that I can get by with less expensive headphones, since I don't hear anything above 4000Hz anyway. "Headphone distortion"=bad :-S but "headphone frequency response"=meh :smirk:

    But the disadvantage of the 4000Hz thing is that I have tinnitus that continually rings at about 4000Hz and is just barely audible but is always there so I need continual background noise to keep it from being noticeable and driving me bonkers. Dead quiet spaces make me feel like I'm falling into a pit with the ringing getting closer and closer and louder and louder. But any other sound even very quiet sound yanks me up out of the pit and drowns the ringing. Thus I don't complain about road noise in my car, the TV is always on in the house, and the radio next to my bed is always on playing classical music all night.

    And yeah, I discovered Sennheiser headphones also. I have a collapsible pair of PX360's that fits in my small travel music case with my MP3 player. I use them in the car sometimes because my car radio has a damaged speaker system and rattles (*erk*) :-S

    Blech on the hearing issues.. sucks. :down: :down:

    Feh on the busted car radio, too! Ugh!

    Yeah, I inherited the 12 year old car from my stepmother when she died. She was very hard of hearing and kept the volume of the radio up really loud and I think she blew out the speaker(s). I investigated getting it fixed but every place I went they wanted to replace my entire sound system to the tune of at least $600. I tried to find a place that could tell me if it was just the speakers but it seems nobody wants to try for less than $300 to tear apart the dash and/or doors and/or rear deck, and then they want to charge me $300 for a "matched" set of speakers. So I've learned to love Mozart played on a kazoo and Beethoven on rusty oil drums, or I dig out my MP3 player and headphones.

    If it's yet another UV map then we have reason to complain. :vampire:

    I'm still trying to find all the UV map sets I need to get some of my recent purchases properly "skinned". Not a happy camper. Why do I need Stephanie5 UVs to load Hayden? I get error: " can't find /data/DAZ 3D/Genesis/Base/UV Sets/DAZ 3D/GenePool/Stephanie 5.dsf"

    I don't buy females or female items and I don't normally buy young people but I needed Hayden and I find I need Stephanie5 too. I don't want to have to dork around with infrequently used female UVs. Bad policy! :coolmad: If you ask me, I think they're deliberately cross contaminating models just to force us to buy more stuff we don't really need.

    Well, I'm not sure exactly what the problem is but there is something wrong.
    You can see by my copy of the catalog page for Hayden that I have already purchased JustinYoungTeen5 and the head morphs, but I do not have Stephanie5. And Justin and Hayden seem to be installed correctly.

    I get the error about not finding a UV for stephanie5 and the texture it comes up with is definitely wrong (see image below). Notice the problems with fingers, toes, legs, back, scalp, ears, under chin, and armpits. But if I take a different Genesis male character skin like "Phillip" for example or even Justin and apply it, he's properly skinned. So is the problem that the male skin texture for Hayden didn't get into the distribution pack for him but the female one did, or was the male skin included but the female UV info was in the pack instead of the male UV? I don't know enough about this stuff and my brain is beginning to hurt so I'll just say that there's an error, I'm not happy but can find a workaround and I'll probably get around to sending in a report.

    It's not the money I'm complaining about, because I wouldn't have bought Justin or Hayden if it wasn't for the super sale recently. But to find out that I also needed Stephanie5 now that the sale is over is irritating. Yeah, yeah, it says Stephanie5 is required but how many catalog items list requirements that are only needed for special purposes or with alternate models. I wasn't intending to turn Hayden into Heidi. :P

    ...while I have Steph5, I use her only once in a while (I got her for a few other characters that required her UV as well, fortunately she was on sale when I purchased her). She is no longer the "petite" character she was in the Gen3/4 days and only came with three body shapes (Steph4 had more). Thankfully I had GenX for Genesis so I could still use the Steph 4 shapes and morphs for my teen characters until Throne/Sarsa released YT5 Julie and Justin.

    About the only time I use Steph5 is for older, more heavy set characters (she makes a good older housewife or a grandmother with Zev0's aging morphs).

    If for some reason you end up with a hybrid Vmap you should be able to export it along with equally hybridised texture maps, I guess there might be anxiety about copyright of the original UV's but seems to me the less third party dependencies there is in something the better off everyone would be long term :)
