...wow, a friend of mine had just purchased a huge 27" 4K display for his gaming rig so he stopped by and he gave me the 23" unit he replaced it with Now I have a dual display setup which will really help the workflow.

I finally got home. There are some places reporting possibly 4 to 6 inches of rain. I saw a picture where the water had almost swallowed up a car. :gulp: And more rain is forecast for the weekend. :bug:

Is it heading north? The rains we've been getting are coming up for the south. I had 6" in 2 hours here at my house Sunday morning. Stay safe, Fyre, and remember: turn around, don't drown.

Morning. Friday is just like any other day this week, gloomy grey overcast dripping occasional spots of rain on us. At least everything smells fresher :)

I'm willing to trade some of my rain for your fresh air. Everything here smells like mildew. Guess what I'm allergic to? MOLD!

    ...early morning complaint:

Transit system (or the city, not sure who); removed two bus stops in my neighbourhood to allow for more fraggin car parking (for a stupid new apartment building that has no car park associated with it) . Now if you live between the two main intersections with traffic signals, you have to walk several blocks up to one or down to the other. Tired of having cars impose themselves on those who do not drive.

...and the transit commission mentioned they were trying to make transit moire "attractive". Going to write them and the city when I get up later as the removed bus stops were fairly well used by neigbourhood commuters.

There are monster tram stops here taking up half the road about every half block here now

...same here. Meanwhile we have are bus stops where car parking is allowed so the bus cannot pull up to the curb which makes it impossible to use the wheelchair ramp or the rear exit door as it is often blocked by a parked car (the rear doors on our buses open outwards).

...and what's up with this site? Suddenly it seems like someone poured a 55 gal. drum of molasses into the servers.

Good to know I'm not the only one having trouble with the site. I don't know what they're working on, but it sure is fouling up the works.

For years, this neighborhood had a smaller bus that ran about every 30-60 minutes, from the transit center through the 'hood and back to the transit center. Making connections was easy. The bus stop was right in front of the house next door. Then in their finite wisdom, CapMetro decided to discontinue that route completely. Now the nearest stop is 1/2 a mile up the hill and I can't get anywhere without transferring. Or I can walk a mile further and catch a bus to the transit center.

...never understood it. Transit commissions keep complaining about low ridership and then do stupid things that make it more difficult for people to use the system.

    ...bugger everything is hosed.

Moved the tab panes to one display keeping the viewport on the other. Decided I want one of them back with the viewport but couldn't figure out how to re-dock it on edge them as when I tried to it filled up the entire window and there were no resizing "handles" . As I was trying to troubleshoot this, the viewport came undocked and is now in full screen mode on the older display. I cannot find any way to resize or move it at all let, alone re-dock it the the main application window and even the key doesn't restore the view..

The user guide is of no help.either.

So on one display I now have this unmovable maximised viewport that covers up everything else, with only an option menu for the camera modes, and on the other an empty application window with just the toolbar on top.

Ended up having to set everything back t\o factory defaults so all my Iray render settings are messed up now

KK, are you on Windows 7? If so, hover over the icon in the status bar, right-click, and try Restore. Just a thought.

    ...never thought of that.

Unfortunately already set it back to the default layout and started over again. Now I have it where only the scene tab is with the viewport and everything else is on the other display to give me a much nicer workspace. Another Idea I have is to just have the viewport on the larger display and leave all the tabs &panes; in the application on the other. Wish I could somehow figure out how to send the render window to the display with the viewport.,

Anyone else get a "Password Reset Conformation" email from DAZ Support?
Everything looks legit, all the links look right when hovered over. Only two oddities: 1) The message inside begins with "Dear," No name after dear. 2) And the most odd thing, I never requested a password change nor do I wish to do so.
I suspect it's just a glitch on Daz's end (gee, why would I think that could happen? ) but I'm deleting it anyway.

How do I clean an optical drive?

Did you get food in there or something? I don't think there's usually a need for that. But if there is, there is probably a special object to use.

    Dana

Don't do it. Clean the optical media instead :)

I thought it was dust got into the optical drive. The optical media seems to be clean.

I haven't paid that much attention this morning to the weather (still trying to get ready for work) but yesterday's storm came from the North West and moved South East over Corpus. Right now, there's not much rain in the area but that will change sometime this afternoon.

    And we'll be very careful.

Yesterday the rain only happened when I was working. When I headed to work it was not raining and when I was heading home it was not raining, but the time in between it was raining.

Up here it's only supposed to rain on the holiday. I think a lot of people planning their first barbecue are bummed. But last night it seemed like even that rain is iffy. So maybe the whole weekend will be good. It rained here late last night for a little while.

...nope. I heard they're doing some kind of work on the site so wonder if it is some sort of glitch.

Been experiencing forums logon issues from time to time. recently though. Usually when I log into the store, I'm also logged into the forums as well, but that have been a few times I had to go back and forth severl times (including shutting the browser down) to finally get logged in properly.
