A properly designed power window will require that you replace the entire door! :ohh:
...which is one more reason I prefer the manual ones.
They design cars today so they cost an arm and a leg to fix and thus require having some kind of maintenance contract with the dealership or a . certified mechanic. I've been hearing rumblings of the industry trying to push making it illegal to work on your own car.
...sounds like a great idea for a pic using volumetrics..
...ufg, hate stomach viruses.
Hope it passes soon.
Quite rainy here today for once. Haven't seen it rain this hard in almost two months (yeah, in the Pacific "NorthWet" where rain is usually a daily part of life). N0 danger of floods though. The last time it was that bad was nineteen years ago when the Willamette and Columbia rose several feet above flood stage. A good part of downtown and the East Bank was sandbagged. They actually built a temporary flood wall along the park by Downtown. however didn't extend it far enough on the south end. Had the river rose another six inches or so, all of the waterfront area would have flooded for about four to five blocks west from the park
Bummer! But it will pass. Get well soon!
I hate to get all spelling Nazi on this situation (no I don't, I live for the opportunities  ), but the "pale" would be on your face, and a "pail" would be in your lap catching the stuff that didn't pass! :P
Morning. Thunderheads giving up yellow orange godrays from the rising sun is making teh awesome display so far today :)

moon shadows are real delicate, is difficult but I guess not impossible to get that blue-black shading on stuff without massacring whole surfaces
Good morning! :cheese: Sounds lovely :cheese:
Here in Tulsa I can see to the horizon from my window.. the clouds go on forever, the Sun traverses a long path to reach me, the sky varies from a cerulean blue to a deep rust red.. I think, maybe, I could grow to love this place.. :red:
Two hour upload complete, 24 bit 96KHz super-high-quality uhh thing up loaded. :blank:

No mountains here, either. But the land is hilly enough that I can't see forever. It was even more hilly in Fall River, where I used to live. Here in Taunton, the hills are mostly what I would call gentle inclines. And there aren't a lot of them. Still the land varies enough so that you can't see 20 miles away.

I lived in Florida for 26 years and there are places where once you get inland away from the coastal cities you're in swamps or flat pastures where all around you the only thing to see is the sky, scrub grass, cows, and clumps of palm trees in the distance. It's very serene. I used to love the trip west from Melbourne on the east coast to Orlando in the center 50 miles away. Or that longer trip across the whole state from Melbourne southwesterly toward Ft. Myers on the west coast. Nearly 180 miles of emptiness. Making the drive in the morning or at sundown was particularly memorable especially on motorcycle.
There's a classical music suite of four tone poems called the "Florida Suite" by Frederick Delius written about 1887 back when he was in his early 20s and Florida was only very sparsely populated and primitive. Delius was British but his father sent him to Florida to manage his orange plantation. His music makes me remember the feelings I've had when watching sunsets or sunrises in those lonely plains and swamps.

Is that the same system that came through here? Surely to God, it doesn't have any rain left.
So far this week is warm, sunny, and humid. Isn't that getting confused with the tropics?
I think she's hearing strange voices whispering in her left ear.

I thought it was because my mouse had had too much coffee. :ohh:
But seriously, low batteries can cause it, but so can a weak signal. The wireless connection between mouse and computer is actually very weak and easily blocked by distance of more than a few feet, or wood or metal desk drawers, or books or junk in the drawer. I've had a couple situations where I've had to get a USB extension so that I could place the USB transceiver up on the top of the desk to get it closer to the mouse to get a reliable signal.

Logitech's Performance Mouse MX comes with one of those, and I'm using it. I don't have any troubles with the signal. It also puts up a notice on screen when the battery gets low, and one of the LEDs on the mouse starts to flash red slowly. A nice feature is that the charger plugs into the front of the mouse and you can continue using it while it's charging. It just makes it look like an old wired mouse. Works fine, though.

Yes there is something seductive about a big sky, feels free maybe :)

...bad idea, bad idea, bad idea. Considering the skill I see that most motorists exhibit with four wheels on the ground, last thing we need is for them to be airborne. Don't need some drunken of distracted fool crashing though my roof or into the plane I'm on that is landing at the nearby airport.
Well, that didn't look like it could literally fly. But, when the flying car finally gets here, I'm pretty sure it will be mostly an autopilot thing. That's something I've read. The other is that "drivers" might need at least a light aircraft pilot's license. And regulations are that they must take off and land from an airport, a small municipal one will do. Of course, all of this seems to be just talk, anyway. They've been promising these vehicles for decades now, and I don't see even one appearing in commercials or the news yet. I think it will still be a while before they "take off".
Goodnight, all!
Dana
....looking at the image, it appears the wings fold back. So yeah, this is still more of a hybrid aircraft/car (like the old AeroCar) and yes, most likely standard aircraft licencing (both VFR and IFR) would be required. Also, the fact it has wings would prohibit taking off from a normal roadway or car park.
There is one inventor who has been dedicating a lot of time to what looks more like the Sc-iFi version using the lifting body concept with ducted fans in the body to create and maintain lift as well as four variable geometry ones to propel it horizontally.
I still shudder at the nightmare that ATC would have dealing with thousands more flying objects in a major city's airspace. It would require a monumental overhaul of the entire archaic air traffic control system we have today.
Supposedly we have mandatory driver training and testing, but what I see occurring on the roads daily, it makes it seem like drivers' licences are being given away free in specially marked boxes of brekkie cereal.
Hey nice :)
