She looks good and real. Excellent demo renders, imo. I like her, and it's been 48 days since the last Core Figure; so, I was ready for a new option. Bundle is a pass though.

I like almost everything here, aside from the hdri and the metamixer, but at $147 with nothing on the side... fugeddaboutit. No banner either for me, is there one?

Time Jumper HD Outfit is a real stand-out... and this comes from a skimpwear fan. I'll have to decide if I pick some things up or wait for a better deal on the bundle.

I think she looks like a female version of Hans. She looks to have decent skin tho. But more females I do NOT need ;).

Oh, I really like her in the promo renders. Bought the base figure to have a play with.

  • GordigGordig Posts: 10,173

A lot of stuff in the bundles I don't care for, but the character is great.

  • Interesting character, terrible offer.
$70 per base bundle. Nearly $150 for the Megabundle with added HD and Megamixer plus an additional outfit.
No nothing (coupon, cashback, free items, just the honor to purchase more for an extra discount).
    Good luck!

I think she's the best core figure for a long time.  I like the Time Jumper outfit too - except for those silly dangly bits on the boots.  Can they be hidden?

  • Ghosty12Ghosty12 Posts: 2,065

Yeah $154 USD, will be $206+ AUD so yup a bit much for me, and I already have characters like Sydney 8 and so on..

  • JOdelJOdel Posts: 6,288

Looks god enough, but more characters I don't need. Not particularly seeing a need for much of anything in the bundles either.

Did spring for the TimeJumper outfit, since most of the pieces look useful and that they'd kitbash well. The danglybits on the boots do look silly. But if they aren't hidabe, I can probably deal with them in the geometry editor. Not likely to be rendering the feet close enough to notice a difference in the edge detail, unless the polys are badly offset from the top edge of the rest of the boot.

Mildly curious about the oddly symetrical not-moles on the upper lip of the main character. Are those supposedto be abandoned piercings or something?

I bought the Time Jumper Jacket, but when I test it on its own (as in, the jacket is the only thing in the scene) I can't use the materials that comes with it cause it claims it was an error and the log file says this - Invalid hierarchy for selected node(s) and "preset_hierarchical_material" type; no root(s) found.

so I wonder if anyone knows what the root for the H. Materials are? Would be nice to be able to use the mat that came with jacket since we are able to buy the jacket on its own. Funnily enough, the mat for the buttons work without issue.

For hieracical materials you have to have the character selected. Did you that?

    Victoria 7 Pro Bundle:
    12 products
    $134.95 without discounts
    Avarage price per product: $11.25

    Leanne 8.1 Mega Bundle:
    17 products
    $300.95 without discounts
    Avarage price per product: $17.70

That's an increase of 123% for bundle pricing, and a 57% increase in price per bundled product.
Maybe not a problem to professional organisations, but it's a huge increase for hobbyists.
Sure, I could go for only the Retaliation bundle or only the Undercover Assassin bundle, but the two are both all over the place in content, meaning I actually have interest in only half of each. An interest in just about half the bundle used to be the breaking point for the old pro bundles for me, and yes, I did make it a habit back then to figure out where the price would end up buying seperate components or buying the bundle, taking additional discounts and freebees triggered by the bundles into consideration. And the results of these equations don't look good for bundles anymore.

Hierarchcial presets require that the target items be parented on application as they were on save - presumably to Genesis 8.1 Female

Everything in the bundle looks great but it's nothing new, anyone with a modest inventory will already own equivalents.

  • Carola OCarola O Posts: 3,823

Ah, I had only the jacket in the scene and nothing else as I wanted to look it over a bit. I did put it on the g8f and g8.1f after reading the responses here and than it worked :)

She looks really great, I'll definitely be picking up the character. And I like a lot of the stuff in the bundles, but there's zero incentives to buy the bundles at that cost.

  • BarubaryBarubary Posts: 1,216

Well I guess Jada remains the single reason to ever load up Genesis 8.1 Female for the time being. At least everything else in the bundles looks unexciting as well, so I don't have to start doing math.

I so wanted to purchase the mega bundle but not at that cost especially with no incentives....no freebies, no orange banner, nothing...it's a pass. CAD dollar conversion makes it even worse

As much as I love the character, there's no incentive to buy the bundle. Bundle values have been steadily dropping over the past few years to the point we're offered fewer items and more filler (crossbow and HDRI) all at a higher price tag. New hobbist Daz users will never know what a good deal these used to be.

LOL, reading these posts looks like the pricing is in lock step with the pricing of gas, food and rent here in the US.

Looking at the promos, I really like the skin and the HD details, but her face is to masculine for my tastes. I'll probably pick her up at some point because i would love to see what i could do to make her face more feminine and I think she would be a good addition to my gene pool.

I had 10% off orange banner since I bought the Kola 8.1 Mega Bundle, but as I went over all the items, and looked at what I liked/wanted and would use versus what I knew I would never use or didn't like, it turned out to be 8 likes versus 9 no goes. Even at that point when I put the likes into the cart, I put 3 on wishlist for a later purchase, and then used my DAZ+ coupon for Daz Originals. Last month I never had a chance to use it at all. So they got $73.30 from me, including taxes. The Mega Bundle would have cost me $143.33 with taxes. So, 5 items I will use at almost half the price, and no extra 9 items littering up my runtime I have no use for. The others I will buy later on sale.

And I like that she is not a perfect, pretty, delicate flower, but rather a real person who is lovely at the core.

One of the most interesting 8.1 characters!

Oh, we've had the occasional HDRI's and weapons included with a pro-bundle during the G3 and G2 times as well, though admittedly, not too often.
However, some things the old pro-bundle launches also tended to include:
-Add 3 (out of 5+) add-ons to get a discount to both the bundle and the add-ons
-Purchase the bundle (and maybe some add-ons) to pick one or more free pro-bundles (these were usually at least 1 year old, but still, that was a great offer!)
-Purchase the bundle to get free HD-Addon for some previous figure (didn't happen often, but was usually for figures no longer tagged as new)
-Purchase the bundle to get $5-15 discount on each of several categories (usually added up to about $45 total discount)
-Purchase the bundle to get a big discount on gift cards (30% wasn't rare)

Overall, the price for a pro-bundle with three add-ons generally ended up somewhere between $40 and $60, still with the free items and big discounts I just mentioned thrown in.  (I *have* had even cheaper than $30, but $40 to $60 was the usual ballpark).

Overall, I get the strong hunch that Daz is trying to move towards having a more professional customer base, with larger organizations instead of hobbyists and freelancers. The advertisement style doesn't reflect that (yet), but the pricing sure does. Well, if that's the direction they want to go, then I wish them good luck. Wouldn't mind them making a seperate dedicated branch for the more small scale and hobbyist segment of their customers though (or maybe they should've set up a seperate professional branch and brand instead, it'd make more sense for their interaction with high-end clients to NOT be directly linked to their more "crude" past catalogue), but the further they move towards the high end segment, the further they distance themselves from me as a customer. And that's sad, because it's obviously not just me they're distancing themselves from, but they distance themselves from many old and faithful customers.

So, how much does the gas cost in the US? Here in Finland 95 octane is $9.53USD/gallon...

Some of the promo pictures reminded me of Christine Lahti.

$6.99USD in Southern California. That's who she resembles! Thank you. Fortunately, she has less wrinkles than Ms. Lahti. She also looks like she could play Josephene 8's mother.

I like the character but did note the promo renders do utilize the HD product for them. So, it will cost $40+ for the true character. UNLESS you can up the subdivion level to create what we're seeing in the promos. If you look at the HD set, with or without HD, the blemishes, facial lines, etc all come from the HD though. Nice looking skin overall.
As has been stated over and over, bundlke pricing way too high. A bundle pass, on all 3 of them, even with the DAZ+ 51% discount from list price.

    Josephene 8 + Sydney 8 = Leanne 8.1

Had skipped that one already. Anyhow with prices and promos like this I rather cherrypick or wait.

She is nice. The bundles have a couple of okay bits–hair, a dress–but I laready have similar older products. And I have zero need for ridiculous fantasy porn outfits. I'm getting the Time Jumper outfit, because it looks well-made and if nothing else I'll have plenty use for the t-shirt.

Looks like a less attractive Aubrey 8 who I never liked. Hate the eyebrows, they are almost non-existent and she’s just not attractive enough for my purposes. She appears very bland to me, someone you’d never notice in a crowd and no morphs that are going to really add anything to the gene pool. Easy pass. The only things I’ll get at some future point is the ponytail hair and the HDRI. Everything else looks like a repeat of what I already have.

95 octane? Dayum...what average daily driver uses that? My Mustang is tuned for 93 octane and that's bad enough, lol. Good thing I only drive it like 1200 miles a year, lol. Most cars here use 87 or 89 octane. I don't even know of any places around here (Connecticut) where you can get 95.

About the character release...pass. Skin is nice, but there's not really anything about it that stands out and makes it anything I'd go out of my way to want to use. I don't buy characters for the shape. I bought the Time Jumper outfit because the quality appears to be up to snuff, but I also had my PC+ monthly coupon to use.
