Thank you for the wonderful hair. Now if Steve can just remember what he did with his pipe cleaners and chewing gum heart

Are pipe cleaners an 80's thing?  (I've been meaning to get some actually, but if their time is past, that could be an issue).

Are pipe cleaners just for fun crafts or can they actually clean a pipe?  If so what kind of pipe?  The pipes under the sink?

I'm not sure if being silly or it's a straight question, but they were originally designed to take the built-up residue out of a tobacco pipe.

No, not just for crafts. They were used to clean the nicotine and junk out of the stems of pipes that you used for smoking.

Pipe cleaners are great for cleaning out fixed straws (like on some refillable water bottles and some baby bottles, sippies)

If that was a serious question, I beleive they are for cleaning the pipe stems.

The Disco Jumpsuit, like everything you make, is a thing of beauty! Thank you so much!

Yet again, I'm in the midst of creating an extensive set of 3DL mats, some of which use your default textures. I'm also including some mats with white cotton [in case all the patterns are too loud :p ] and some with complementary GLITTER!! ^_^ These should be ready in the next day or two.

I cannot remember seeing anyone smoke a pipe except in movie characters like Gandalf or Sherlock Holmes.  I never really thought of how they got their name.  I do remember the little mermaid scene where she was given a pipe in use for the first time.

Most of it was serious other than the pipes under the sink part.

A smoking pipe, my sister and I used to steal my father's pipe cleaners to make animals and things out of, until he gave up smoking. Only those cleaners were white the colored ones for crafts didn't come until later. laugh

I love the smell of pipe tobacco.  My grandfather was a lifelong pipe smoker (died in 1955).  My daddy smoked a pipe until my baby sister thought it smelled bad and washed it with soap and rinsed it in the toilet.  When my daughter became a bassoonist in middle school, we had to start buying pipe cleaners for her.  They are great for cleaning in small places, such as keyboards, jewelry, between the tines of sterling silver forks, etc.  I can usually find them wherever tobacco products are sold, including Walgreen's.

I wasn't even aware pipe cleaners still existed until I had children and saw a tip about using them to clean bottles. I mean, I should have, just haven't known any pipe smokers.

I used to work in an "old school" tobacconists shop.  One of my favorite things was to take delivery of the loose tobacco and stock all the big glass jars with it. I loved the various scents.  Needless to say, we had tons and tons of pipe cleaners about in various sizes. We got a lot of business from the arts and crafts community and I am sure a few parents came in to buy them for cleaning bottles as was referenced in a previous post

...used to smoke a pipe when back I was in college.  Very relaxing.  Love the aroma of a good pipe tobacco. Dislike cigarettes as they seem so foul smelling and cigars tend to be overpowering.

So my wife has been watching me render promos, and I was wondering if I might give her copies of the freebies here in the thread so she has a bit more than Genesis/2/3 Starter essentials?

    Hi Cath,

Just looked through your thread here again, and wanted to say with big hugs, a thank you for all your latest gifts.

The mullet hair is amazing, and just what our G2 males needed. The Disco jump suit is beautiful and along with the various render engine watermarks will be very useful.

This has certainly been one big party !  I was therefore very sorry to read that you have been suffering back pain. I know from my own experiences how debilitating this sort of pain can be, so wish you a speedy recovery.

Kind regards and wishing you well,

    Musicplayer.

I played with my mullet hair and Lumberjack set .. I think it need better new PBR Iray materials but I still like this set especially the shirt as it was modeled not on the T pose and the fabric fall more natural on the arms .

When I have a moment I will make for you new proper PBR mats for it

How y'all doin'? I say that as someone who has lived in both New Jersey and Virginia. laugh

The mullet is tops as a topper! Thank you so much, Cath! I feel so guilty downloading yet another wonderful gift from you when I haven't done any renders yet--well any I'd deign to show anyone anyway. Your generosity is amazing.

Very nice I would think it was Iray render, very well done ! is that Hunk Megapack set? I see after gym set and 80s gym .. and I love grapes ..thanks for sharing , I guess I should make 3Delight water mark for you guys

Thank you so much Cath! It's the Eli megapack =) And thanks for the watermarks, too!

Believe it or not, I guessed the Lumberjack was yours although there's no name anywhere. And your big sister looks awesome!

PS The grapes are from an old RDNA freebie: http://www.runtimedna.com/Props-Pack-Grapes.html - the leaves only needed a bump map made, other than that, the model looks good to this day as you can see... with the right shaders =)

You made the lumberjack outfit?! I should have known. I love that set. Best by far of the freebies that come with Daz. Here in Ireland we say "how's it going" but it's the same sentiment :)

That look!  It's definitely a Jersey Thing, as they say.  Not that I'd know.  It's a great look, though, you pulled it off great!
