In modern usage, whisky is from Scotland and whiskey is from Ireland. The difference comes from the translation of words from the Scottish and Irish Gaelic forms. In the late 1800s, Scottish whisky was also very poor quality therefore the Irish producers wanted to differentiate their product. Until today only Scotland and Canada use the name Whisky , the rest of the world Whiskey

Some people will argue that Scottish Whisky is not the real deal and will refuse to call it a true Whiskey .

My favorite is Scottish Johnnie Walker Whisky and Jack Daniels Whiskey

Whiskey or whisky? cheeky Either way it'ss a bed that I'd happily retire to for a good night's sleep! In point of fact, ther is a nice little hotel I have stayed in a few times that comes close ...!

...my favourite Irish whiskeys are Paddy's and Powers.

As to Scots single malt whisky's, it's Talisker, Ardbeg, and Laprhoig (love the "peaty" stuff, but any single malt is fine as they are still far better than a blend).

As American whiskeys go, a well aged Rye is my favourite, particularly Minor Case straight rye which is aged in sherry casks.

The best thing about Whiskey or Whisky for me is that I never have any side effects or hang over even if I go over the line on a special occasions . It just don't mess up with my head at all , I just get sleepy at the end lol

As much as I like either, you are luckier than I as I have found that certain whisk(e)ys give me an immediate piercing headache within 20 seconds of the first sip so for the past 20 or 30 years I have usually avoided drinking any.

Sounds like the problem I had with alcohol before I found out I had diabetes and got it under control. I barely drink at all these days, maybe once every couple of months.

Welcome to the club TJohn from the land of my favorite buzz lol , my grandpa had one shot everyday until 99 years old , that was his secret , and very sharp until the end .

As we sipping here our virtual Whisk(e)y I was working/relaxing on my books for the bedroom , not textured yet just simple shaders , I will do the individual covers at the end .

Each book have modeled outside side pagesas well and I spent hours doing it as I am learning on my way , overdoing it again as usual , but I love the details what was around 1MB so less than actual displacement

My hubby said , why you put whiskey next to Bible in the render, I said it is not a Bible, it is a manual for D|S lol , he was thinking it was the Book of Genesis with the story of Creation , I said.. right, you hear the bells, but you didn't know which church ! cheeky

on this funny note here some simple previews as I am signing off for tonight , will catch up in the morning as I will working on the walls / fireplace / chairs/carpets/plants/and other props

Hi Cath, I'm loving your bed. It seems to be super confortable

Me personally think that vertical posts are too square. If it was mine I would ask a carpenter to make some bevels on their angles.

Many thanks for this freebie; Eager to test it

Yeah, not my taste and any alcohol mixed with stuff give me adverse effect the day after .

Thanks Richard , I never think this way about myself , I am just excited about stuff hopping to plant some seed of inspiration

There is some stuff I gonna edit on the vertical posts anyway, the first idea was to make it all sharp straight cut, but after I added some panels to the other elements it just scream at me for days ( the elements between ), I will see if I like the bevels on the corners , personally not big fan of this kind of style especially if there will be a different colors beside wood , and may trigger issue with the other parts that will have to be edited to match better , we see how it works out in the process. Thanks for your feedback

The forum compress the render too much, it was crispy you could see each hair on the carpet .

Yes Wendy you can plan already, I need to make some sit area on the right side and some closet on the back and of course I realized there where no doors in this room lol  but it is just a prototype , now I will do the clean version of the room since this one was all made from a single cube , I just want. to see how the light works out

no doors is a DAZ PA standard artistic choice thoughdevil

    LOL for real ?

I was thinking in the future I can add some module to next room, that when I realized , there was no doors out , well this is my first this kind of work so I guess am excused

if you have issue with not enough light in a room, the best thing is to increase the disc size of the sun , iray sun enviorment is empty with a little of global illumination so there is nothing to reflect the sun light to support better indoor scenes lighting, increasing the sun disk will provide the extra GI resulting in quicker and  less noisy indoor renders plus the Fstop under Tone Mapping need to be adjusted at last to 3

I just heard that new Quadro cards are coming with 48GB VRAM and Titan X , but each will have no more Cuda cores than the 3090 , so nothing there to wait for . Quadro and Titan X works just at the same speed in rendering and the price difference gonna be huge for the extra memory and the increased speed , I wonder what next in 4 years, 6 slots cards?

  • kyoto kidkyoto kid Posts: 41,249

...one of the features the Titan and Quadro series offer is they can be set ot TCC (Tesla Compute Cluster) mode which bypasses Windows WDDM while consumer cards do not have this function.
