it posts to the page you currently are on(or makes it seem like that is what is happening). even if others have updated the thread with a post. you won't know until you do a proper refresh. then you can see where it falls.
It seems to me like what happens is, it posts to the last position in the thread, but if you are on an earlier page, you still see yours right at the bottom of that page. Then later when you come back to the thread, it is correct chronological order.
Very strange behvior and highly confusing. At first I thought it was doing the old Drupal thing where replies would be hung off the post they were responding to and you'd get later posts above earlier ones (chronologically). But it seems not.
That is exactly what happened. I was trying to quite both original posts together as a 'like this post' sort of thing. It also collapsed both quotes hiding the pics.
Well, now I'm not seeing some of the smileys. Also, for some reason none of the moderator avatars but all the others are showing up. And the massive font thing is gettiing to the point where I'm just not interested in reading here anymore.
Your name doesn't overlap, it wraps, in the dark version. That says to me that there is a mismatch in CSS formatting. The only difference between the pages should be, this one is dark, this one is light. The light one is missing a style that wraps the text. It surprised me (the wrapping, not that they are obviously using two different base pages).

OK, so it's not missing CSS, it's a lack of testing. Ask me if I'm surprised.

Although there is one good thing about all the old 'deleted' messages pulling zombie duty...I found a message about a something I haven't been able to recover from my crashed hard drive, so I now have a way of getting it back...but other than that small silver linig, having to go one by one and delete them all again is a PITA.
Greetings,
If you have a link to a specific comment, you can rewrite that comment by taking the comment-id at the end, as follows:
becomes
Or, simpler, keeping the previous URL format:
I hope that helps. Optimally, they could edit the existing code to generate HTML to remove the 'Comment_' prefix, and then previous links would 'Just Work' in theory. But that might break other things on the page; I don't know offhand...

"It's like Deja-Vu all over again."
1. The image problems are not browser, OS, version or even person specific.
2. They are 'tidal'...they come and go.
3. CSS/formatting problems are not browser specific.
4. THEY, too, are 'tidal'.
5. Avatar problems...
You get the drift...and it's looking like a sync/cloud/server/cache type issue, from where I sit.
So the new forum growth is cool! Like to see where its going.
I got an email notification in mail (windows mail win8.1 ) that has the link broken onto two lines.
example one

example two

are others seeing this?
Ah, no. I'm not using ridicules Font size, not using a phone for this, or many other reasons... I guess.
Note to self: Don't click Quote and then edit the quoted comment.
This works until search button can be added to the forums: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/search
So do we remove or reupload the missing ones ?
No please just be patient and let the web devs do their investigation and any fixes before you reupload images that are already in the data base.
No, since the images appear to still be there - it seems to be a problem between the file location and the users.
What's worse is we're starting to get conversations where some people know how to insert the cursor at the end like it's supposed to be, and some people haven't figured it out yet or don't realise they should do it. End result? The actual sequence of the quotes ping-pongs back and forth from top to bottom, working out from the middle where the oldest quote layer is.
Not acceptable — this should never be allowed to happen in modern forum software.
Who wrote this pile of dingo's kidneys... Microsoft?
...OK, now I'm getting a new error. Whenver I try to cut or copy and paste text in the comment editing window, I get this popup that tells me it can't be done due to my browser's security settings. DIdn't have this trouble yesterday and I've made no changes to any FF settings.
Still also not pleased that Magento (as that is what the forum must have been migrated to by the look of the pages) overrides FF's auto spell checking. The one downside of using the Source button is contractions and possessives that use the ' character get a code (#39;) inserted causing the spell checker to flag the word or name as a spelling error even if it is spelled correctly.
Not new to me, the new forum's always done that. Firefox here as well, not updated to v39 yet.
It's not Magenta but rather Vanilla or at least that's what I see when I check the source code.
Thanks guys for the info.
maybe just that, they are breaking them so they can fix them, even though they worked before . . . I don't get it ,, I just confused myself . . where am I
Yes, every email I have gotten for the last day or so has the broken links.
The new forum seems to be lacking in basic forum functionality. Either that, or I'm missing some things.
Having to enter a thread on whatever-the-heck page the software decides to send me to (on this one, it was page 2 of 24 the first time I visited it, page 24 the second) before I can tell it to go to the beginning/end/whatever? Bad Design.
No apparent way to go to a specific page number other than manually editing the URL? Bad Design.
No apparent way to link to a specific post? Very Bad Design.
Also, I found the old "someone posted in Thread X, and said {insert post here}" notifications MUCH more useful than the new "Person Y commented on Thread X".
after reading http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/59118/image-attachments-fix-and-error#latest I can now see my old images, and I only had a couple I had posted after the 7th, so was able to reUpload those and added one more for a test
Somebody discovered that if you bookmark the time field under a person's avatar, that bookmarks that specific post.
