This is ridiculous. Sooooo many faces and 68 8k textures!?
What is the file size for this? I regularly return products like this for file bloat . If this is the growing trend, I will happily bow out of this market and go about having fun with my g8/8.1's.
I didnt purchase v9 and I didnt bother to download the g9 essentials because I didnt want to restart the re-occuring theme of buy base figure and then upgrade to hell with x amount of vender purchases. If file bloat becomes a regular trend, then that just gives me another reason not to bother with g9.
Well, I requested a refund for the Diva outfit. I don't know if they'll refund part of a bundle, but I wanted to register my opinion that this kind of product is not something that belongs in a flagship bundle.
It looks like a detailed set, but I wouldn't install simply due to the file bloat. 8k textures are not needed on a button.
I saw that and was trying to think what I could use such an outfit. Maybe a render based on the music video of Golden Earring's "Twilight Zone"? It's made very nicely though.
Installed it takes up around 4.2 Gb, so yeah.
GREAT GOOGAMOOGA!!!
Uninstalled it. I don't want this on my hard disc. Or in my Daz account, for that matter. Or anywhere close, to be honest.
4.2 gigs??? LOL!!!
I dont even now what to say other than what I stated earlier. Totally mind boggling.
I am glad I read this thread. That is just insane and overkill. I will pass on products from this vendor in the future, or at least till they figure out what they are doing. It's even more sad that DAZ didn't flag this and make them change it
Yeah, I kicked out of my drive as well. It is just too niche and too taxing to be viable.
I was thinking about buying the bundle, but this pushed me to just buy a la carte the few items I'd actually want...V9, OOT's hair, and the makeup.
It is kind of funny when you think about it...
The first character of a new generation is a red-headed, pretty, pale caucasian female with all the sexy/fetish accoutrements. Daz knows who it is selling to
I like the outfit but I am curious as to why the PA chose to make it quite like this (there must be a reason) and why Daz hasn't flagged it if it's unworkable?
Outside of the need to produce a poster size render of let's say an earing are there any other benefits?
The PA probably has a state of the art computer, doesn't render anything other than promos for their products, is following modeling/texturing techniques made for use in other apps other than DS that can utilize this kind of modeling/texturing bloat, and either DAZ allows this or is clueless that it is happening since this is not the first time this issue has been brought up in the forums and why I don't buy from this PA.
I had bought some of this PA's early offerings. When I loaded it onto G8F, my computer locked up. Completely. This outfit will sit in my DIM forever.
So. Is that an admission that Daz knows a thing or two, maybe.
It's a slow progress, though.
This time there are no triangles randomly mixed with quads.![cheeky cheeky](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/tongue_smile.png)
Because of the past offerings this PA is on my blacklist too. If I knew there's one of their outfits in the bundle I'd never purchase the bundle.
It's OOT 10-in-1 casual wardobe what should've been a part of this bundle instead of this.
Agree 1000%
Daz bought the leather outfit from its maker. Daz owns that outfit. Daz sticks it in a bundle.
OOT retained ownership of her(?) outfit. OOT sells it in the store. Daz can't bundle what they don't own.
My early experiences with scary monsters led me to believe that it would take a very long time for those monsters to earn what daz would pay me outright for one. So I sell daz scary monsters. My experiences with toons and storybook animals have taught me that I have a fair chance of very quickly making several multiples of what daz would pay me for one, so I retain ownership and broker them.
Daz can't bundle what it doesn't own. PAs and DAZ are both trying to maximize their individual profit.
Either way, Diva's outfit should not be in a blind purchase bundle. Now I'm going to have to return the entire bundle if it's not allowed to return a single item only to no longer have it in my account...
I'm not so sure about Daz knowing (or caring about) the market (if we're assuming those kinds of things about the market). Is vitiligo (multicolor skin condition) really as much of a selling point as they seem to promote? Or the niche content of the Victoria 8.1 and Michael 8.1 bundles? The ambiguous genders of Autumn and Catty? The ballet themes of Clara and Hans?
Granted that 8.1 seemed to aim for a wider appeal in recent months, and there were some earlier "conventional" releases such as Jacqueline and Cleopatra, but I think the perception that Daz is aiming primarily for mainstream sex appeal is (at least somewhat) overblown. Much of early and mid 8.1 seemed to consist of a push for the opposite, to the degree that a large portion of the offered bundles struck me as being of rather limited use. Not that these things aren't good to offer as products, mind you - providing more options to more people is fine - but I did question the wisdom of filling bundles with seemingly narrow-use content (at least until bundle production cranked into overdrive).
I'm also not convinced that Vicky 9 is the bombshell she's being made out to be - she's not unattractive, but she's not especially gorgeous either. But perhaps later user renders will change my mind. *shrugs*
That's what made this such a fascinating choice. Genesis 8 seemed like a concerted effort to move away from the pin-up (or whatever you want to call it) market with a much greater variety of figueres, and the vitilingo skin choice suggests they still aspire to that as well. But then this outfit comes along as part of the launch bundle and what does that say? Confirming to the core audience that they're still going to offer the sexy stuff? I can't imagine this wasn't a deeply considered decision, given how much Genesis 9 breaks from the past. I'm terribly curious about what went into picking that outfit for this bundle.
I suppose. OOT's bundle will have a much longer shelf-life than this outfit. But with that said, so will the nice hair, which was sold to Daz.
I just wanted something that looked like it could be turned into a denim dress with pockets. Jewelry looked interesting too. Except by the time this bundle was announced the PAs for the products weren't listed anywhere and now it turned into over 4 GB disc space deadweight.
[Goodness gracious] was my first response too. But to be honest, wasn't surprised. DAZ has been always porny, but even more so lately.
Has anyone tried the outfit with the male version of Vicky 9 dialed in yet? I'd love to see that. One upside of G9 that now you can put all that skimpwear on the guys without fussing with the fit. Let the pornification of male figures begin!
In high heels
I have a feeling that this outfit was purchased for the bundle precisely because it had high heels in it.![wink wink](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/wink_smile.png)
Otherwise there would be no V9 heels available at the figure release.
G8F Heels autofit pretty well with only a small bit of crumpled mesh at the toes.![laugh laugh](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/teeth_smile.png)
Just needs a bit of foot pose adjustments
Got a refund for the bundle, purchased back what I wanted from the bundle using the refund store credit, it's OK. I don't need poses all that much and this Summertide swimwear outfit comes with a top useful as a casual top for warmer days.
