Good guitar pickin'yes  Despite being a pianist myself, I could never grasp how people can play instruments where it takes both hands to play all but 6 notes.frown  But at least they can play chords (two or more notes simultaneously).  What about the poor people who play woodwinds & brass who need both hands and their lips to play just one* note at a time.surprise

    * Query:  I'm not sure, but is it possible to get a two-note chord from a flute?  Two resonances based on multiple open holes?  I never looked into the details of acoustic instrument resonances.

It's called multiphonics if you want to look into it further.

Complaint: Since the last OS update predictive text and spellcheck on iOS has been garbage... it's been "correcting" common words to unknown or nonsense words... like for some reason it keeps "fixing" good to "goid" and "there" to "threase"... there are lots of other weird misspellings and ignoring of very common words that even 90% finished it offers no predictive spelling for like for example if you start to type "troublesome" usually by the time you get to "troubleso" it will offer up troublesome or troubleshooting... but instead it's still like "derrrrrr?" at "troublesom" with no substitutes... Googling the problem is just useless.

"Goid" is Brooklynese for gourd. "Threase" is the word, is the place, is the motion

Threase is the way we are feeling

and they laughed at the Newton for its autocorrect.... (I had a 130 and MessagePad 2000, loved the mp2000!)

My brother's name is Evan, and somehow or another his name on the contact information in my phone turned to "Evanse", so that's just who he is now.

I once had a phone that insisted on changing "like" to Luke. And several of the phones I've had seem to like changing "the news" to "the Jews". I'm tired of telling people how I don't Luke how the Jews is biased. And if you backspace and correct it, it just replaces your correction with something else stupid while you're not looking.

I have a normal sized and piccolo sized recorders, I sometime put both on my mouth and play just the top holes with a hand each

it harmonises as I think a 4th or 5th interval apart ( would need to check and don't know offhand where I stored them)

As we now have our first modern electric oven, I was amazed to learn the bottom drawer is no longer a broiler, and you can just stuff things in there. However, I don't stuff anything in there because technically it's called a "warmer" and we don't want overly warm stuff. But the newer ovens actually call it a storage compartment. I think it's like those map holders in car doors that nobody will ever put a map in.

On all the autocorrect/autocomplete complaints - you do know, don't you guys, that you can turn that feature off, right? I'll never understand why people put up with this crap. And I hate it personally with a vengeance, because it has turned my students into autocomplete zombies who cannot finish their own sentences anymore.

Edit: Love the stories about the weird suggestions though, so there's that. Maybe it was really invented for pure entertainment value?

I dismay at the reliance on calculators.frown  Even for me.  I used to be able to add, subtract, and multiply in decimal, octal, hex, and binary in my head.  Now I have to use a calculator to balance my checkbook.sad  Nobody uses their brain anymore, it's all done for us.  I also dismay at the rise of the audio-book.sad  Yeah, yeah, it lets people "read" great literature that they wouldn't have attempted otherwise, and safely unbore themselves during a long drive.  But actually reading well written books is what teases our language abilities forward.  Especially for English spelling and punctuation.enlightened

Non-complaint:  Wheee... my new recliner chair has arrived.  Mmmm..., new, cheap-ish, pseudo-luxurious, probably-comfortable, lazy decadence.smiley

Complaint:  It's unassembled, in a huge cardboard box, in the only spot in my livingroom/office slightly big enough to hold it, I can just barely squeeze by it to get to my desk or kitchen, while it is simultaneously blocking removal of my old broken chair.  Didn't plan this one right, did I?frown  The alternative was to leave it on the porch, in the snow.no  Now I've got to play musical chairs to get the old chair out to make room to assemble my new chair in the warmth.  And, upon doing that, I'll become one of those people who put broken, upholstered furniture out on their open-weather porches like some unsophisticated clod.blush  Gotta find someone who'll take it, and the box trash, away.indecision

Complaint my computer has been crashign at intervals for a while 9since we had a thunderstorm after hot weather, though it wasn't close). It had been good, no crashes since early Decemeber, but I've had four this month - one of which didn't generate a crash report.

Complaint-with-knobs-on I bought Who Crashed? after this started, on froum recommendations. Apparently it wasn't coded to just shrug and say "Sorry, I haven't a clue."

Bug check description: This indicates that the kernel has detected critical kernel code or data corruption.
This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem. This might be a case of memory corruption. This may be because of a hardware issue such as faulty RAM, overheating (thermal issue) or because of a buggy driver. This problem might also be caused because of overheating (thermal issue).
The crash took place in the Windows kernel. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver that cannot be identified at this time.

So it's probably a driver, not hardware. Unless it's hardware. But it could be a driver. Or hardware. Or a driver.

How do I divide by zero?

Or find a square root of a negative number? Can zero be negative?

Dividing by zero is easy; the answer is always infinity.

A negative number doesn't have real square roots since a square is either positive or 0.

Zero is neutral and neither negative or positive.

...would love to do the first part but no counter space to roll out the dough.  Barely enough room for the toaster, a small cutting board, and the coffee pot (the latter a necessity)  The kitchen is really tiny, not much bigger than a galley in a Boeing 737.
