Yes, I've experienced all the stupid human tricks of video "help". The worst seem to be for Daz Studio.

Here's my advice for those video makers: if you really want to be helpful, edit out all the mistakes and wasted time in your video before you  upload the freaking thing!!

    Thank you.

    Video makers... "ehhhh...dit?"

(place holder for funny photo that will appear after whenever the photo upload window is briefly open)

Complaint: Mattress makers say things like "you have to sleep on your new mattress every single night or it won't 'break in,' and also "it will take two months to break in." Great, I get to wake up feeling like I fell asleep in a parking lot every morning until September, good times.

    Here's the funny photo;

...the entire comment series about online tutorials is a big part of why I miss hardcopy or PDF ones. Most people who reate the online ones have no sense of what "production value is, how to perform concise technical writing, how to properly narrate the procedure, and above all how to stick to the specific task at hand without rambling or going off on unrelated tangents  This is why it is  taking me so long to get a better grasp with Blender as I find the trial and error method to be less frustrating than dealing with someone who lacks all four of the abilities I mentioned above.

That said, during the 5 items for 2.99$ weekend deal, one of the items I picked up was The Complete Guide to Texturing Clothing - Bundle by Esha (which usually retails for 219$ and change) As this is something I actually would like to become more proficient with.I thought it interesting that such an expensive bundle ended up being so deeply discounted so I said, why not?

I would think  that tutorial content  which makes it to the store (particularly by someone who is a primary clothing content creator here) would defintely be of much higher production quality.

And to all the people who paid $400 for DAZ Studio Pro and $219 for that tutorial, just hang in there. It will be okay one day. Not today. But one day.

My iPad got wet Sunday.  I went to cvs to get earrings, but they didn't have any.  I got hair dye instead. As I was in checkout, rain started.  Actually dumped a lot of water from the sky. I waited it out to avoid my technology from getting wet.

I decided to walk to Walmart to pick up a few things.  On my way, a driver drove through a puddle on the street. That caused me to get wet and my iPad got damp. I noticed it said that it got wet so I took the red case off of it.  When I got home, I left it on the night stand for a while.  Later it won't charge.  Tried every day until today with no luck charging the iPad.  Today it decided to charge.

Does anyone know my Microstructure password?

Try "WarblewarbleDingleDongNukkyNukPatang7321900".... Otherwise, I have no idea what it could be.

Also, if that worked there's a .75¢ password recovery... I'll waive the fee if you were wearing a pineapple hat when you entered the password.

Complaint: Progams with tools set to "Useless" by default... seriously if the stupid tool's main purpose is to follow a surface, why does it start stupidly inside of or away from the surface?... like most 3D tools have a primary purpose, but they never seem to be set to do the thing they are touted as doing without 45 minutes of experimentation, and you still aren't entirely sure what it's doing is correct... like if it's a mirror tool (and it's set to 0.000, but but you can't tell because that parameter is still hidden)... so you click "Mirror" and see no change... oh... the three dot probably mean "more options"... barely noticeable, but okay... okay there's a parameter setting... it's set too "0.000"...  okay let's try... "1.0" nothing... (actually you can't tell it did something because the mirrored copy is offscreen, sixteen miles to the left now)... "0.10"?... still nothing (now it's 8 miles offscreen to the right)... "0.01"?... nope... (two blocks offscreen to the right)... ..."2.00"?... (Somewhere in another galaxy now)...

So you turn to Ethans to understand it and after you get hear their favorite Gregorian heavy metal techno-rage Amish folk rap background music and what they did on the weekend at their cousin's BBQ...
Eventually you find one of them where they do actually mirror an object, but they don't explain how, but somehow you notice the parameter window (which flashes by) says "00.0003862" which makes no sense because shouldn't it be something based on something, so you try that number, but it doesn't work and after giving up, six years later you accidentally find out the mirroring is based not on the center point of the object you were trying to mirror, but the first primitive object you loaded... and wherever you moved it to.

That's the default location for all other objects now... even if you delete the original part.

Techically if you want you can reset it, but that's a ten minute process that involves understanding quantum calculus and abstract graphs.

Yes, that was so helpful and better than when the tool first showed up and you clicked "mirror" and instantly saw a copy of the part offset slightly to one side and could drag it along an axis using a gizmo.

Sounds like me and trying to figure out how the Topology brush and Curves work in zBrush cheeky

Videos all say "It just works!"  meanwhile I'm flailing trying to understand why it isn't.

Actually now I forgot my microstructure user name.  Also what exactly is Microstructure?  I'm pretty sure the password isn't the right one a there are no punctuation or * or $ or # or @ or other specifically allowed special characters.

edit: I usually use suggested passwords that were offered by my browser.

Sounds like a cheesy Sharknado grade movie character... "Major Chester Kleevige"... not as bad as Brigadier General Hugh Jass Cameltoe, but terrible in its own right.

Dead Possum Complaint... A big ol' possum kicked the bucket in woods at the end of my property and if I leave him there one of my kids is going to find him and I'm never going to hear the end of it...

Technically it would probably be funny if they did find him before I get around to burying him, but then they'd never go in the yard again and I'm not dealing with that...

Cletus is too rotty to dispose of any other way, other than digging a big hole nearby and scraping/shoveling him into it.

Blegh... not looking forward to that... and I'm not doing that in the rain... which looks like it's about to do.

Why can't possums just live forever or die in other people's yards.

It could have been worse, he could have died under your house or porch.

Only if they used the original mirror tool.

I think dead possums have a bad rep.

No wait, not rep. Smell. A bad smell.

Non-complaint:  While others are suffering in the heat and having critters croak in their yards, this area here, nestled under & between Great Lakes Erie & Ontario (western NY State) has had not intolerable weather, so far this summer.  My air-conditioner has only been needed for minor periods of time,  Daily temperatures are in the 70s, low 80s, night temps are in the 60s.  The humidity hasn't been too bad (50 - 60%).  A mixture of sun & cloud & rain.  But noticeably very few thunderstorms, just rain.  Farmers aren't worried about rain or sun, crops are coming in.  Even the smoke gagging the rest of the northeast, mostly avoided this particular area.  It's so unworrisome here that I'm watching the skys for a meteor incoming.indecision

So I take it you don't have a compost rig. If you have a flower garden, that's a good spot to use death to bring forth life.

Impossible... I don't have a porch and we have a basement... and if he died under there that would be the mole people's problem.

Damned mole people and their annoying tunneling.

well my days have been ruined now, I have been trying to live normal hours after decades of shiftwork ie awake when the sun is up asleep when it's not.

Last night some feral completely ruined that for me by tapping on my window by me at 10pm while I was using the computer (my curtains were closed).

the front door was only 3 meters away waiting to be knocked by a normal person with legitimate reasons for being under my veranda at 10pm!

I of course yelled WHAT THE F...

switched on my outside light and looked through the curtain

she pressed herself against my wall out of view ... well that's not suspicious is it

I said I don't know you, why the F are you tapping (not knocking) on my window, get off my effing property right now before I call the police.

She said your light was on

I didn't say because I am home, are you casing my place to rob me? but certainly thought it.

Now I am too scared to sleep at night, thanks you feral piece of crap

...same here in Western Oregon.  We've had a few days where the temperature broke 90° but for the most part it's been a rather mild summer (particularly compared to two years ago when  er broke the "all time" record high only to have that broke the next day and the newest one on the next day).Still the Summer is young (not even a month old) and our usually hottest time of the year is still to come (as well as the usual fire season as it's been tinder dry for a couple months now).
