Actually, there's still a Magix 101 environment in todays' releases.
Also Apple Candy Shaders, Grass Mazes, Sci-Fi Underground Tunnel, and Deva by ElianeCK
As well as two Daz+ items, plus a tecture set for one of them.
They should start to put the Daz+ items back at the bottom of the new items for the day page because folks who aren't Daz+ probably don't get the emails about what was released or they probably don't think about seeking out the button on the main store page to see what was released.
I don't know about force feeding I mean everyone has a choice. For me I'm not the least interested in G9. I'll continue to purchase things for G8 for as long as possible. I used V4 forever before switching over to G3 and G8 and will do so until it's no longer feasible. I don't care for G9 for now and I'm not too sure of the latest version of DS. But we all have choices.
If there aren't enough people adopting G9 that might not be good for overall sales. Then again, we do have the compulsive buyers.
Keep in mind that from what I have read in the past that the ones complaining the most in the forums tend to be the very vocal minority of DAZ customers. I guess time will tell how well G9 does. I know I just installed the 4.21 beta and plan to spend a lot of time with G9 now
Yep... Whatever opinion one reads here in the forums, written by us 'forumites' is polar opposite to what the silent majority thinks about the same.![laugh laugh](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/teeth_smile.png)
I refuse to buy G9 products at the moment, but I have accumulated a few via the Christmas PA Holiday gifts and so far, with limited knowledge of the Daz Studio software, I have been able to use every one of those products on older models. And every day I have maintained the 35% discount without buying a single G9 product, but I have spend hundreds per week. So let's agree to disagree. The truth is, eventually, there will be that oneG9 baited item that reels us in, hook line and sinker. The one G9 release we cannot resist. So far I have not seen it.
I felt the same way about G8.1 until they released something I couldn't resist. I don't think Daz cares how you spend your money as much as if you spend your money. Their goal is to stay in business and support the artists that support them and work so hard to please us, knowing you can only please some of the people all of the time.
I was game to check out G9, but after buying Victoria and the first morphs nothing else has been released that I've been interested in. I've never used any purchased character as is out of the box, I'm a gene pooler, and as it is right now, there's basically no content or reason to use G9. Every time I've tried, I've just decided for now I can do a million times more with G8/8.1. Seems like a poorly managed release of a new generation, but it sounds like that's how it's always been done. You'd think they would give key PA's more time to create supporting products before releasing the new generation. There's no reason to buy clothes or poses, or clothes / pose converters, to put on the few figures that have been released if you're not interested in rendering images of those characters with little ability to customize anything involved that's "G9". Maybe some day.
I don't know how you imagine this should happen. We get to create products a year in advance and only when everything that anyone could need is done we release everything in one go? Will you buy all this stuff at once for hundreds of dollars? How do PA's make money in that year?
If G9 isn't ready for you yet then that's fine, but let's not pretend that there is a better way to release stuff. PA's need regular income like any other working person.
I'm not sure why they keep releasing toon characters for G9 when I thought the whole point of G9 was realism. I have many toons that go back many generations and have even updated Cookie & some other oldies. V9 looks a bit more realistic due to the new eyes but not that much of a difference from G8/8.1 characters by top PAs. I think Michael 9 looks awful and not realistic at all. I still don't see a purpose for G9.
Because otherwise the people who want toon characters would complain that G9 doesn't even have enough toon characters, and anyway G9 shouldn't even have been released without more toon characters ready? ;)
Amusing that some people are saying Daz isn't releasing enough toons for G9 and others that they are releasing too many.
The thing is? It's not up to Daz. Vendors largely make what they want.
There are commissioned projects and such, sure, but that's only a portion of the store.
'They are DAZ Original bundles.

I think that is where people get confused; Daz Original Bundles aren't the same thing as commisioned projects. A PA told me that they often occur when Daz3d gets a few things that theme together which is why you might get that odd female garment in a bundle of a male character.
well I missed seeing all of those because I am not DAZ+
'Today's Pixie character and the recent Josie both appear to be DAZ Original core characters with bundles designed for them, not just PA buyouts. There is usually a Stephanie first, although V9 is already so short, and usually Stephanie is the shorter one. I really don't need any G9 characters at all but surprised Josie is so toonish this time and the next core character is a toon.
Let's keep this OT and not a G8 vs G9 thing. There's already several threads on that issue.
Obviously after a new model is released there's going to be a lot of new content for it in the shop. Historically it's been like that with every generation, and might I say it's been met with the same response as the OP.
Edit - as for toon characters, IMO Pixie 9 looks fantastic. Probably a waste with regard to subD and 8K maps for a toon girl but well suited to G9s rubbery joints.
I didn't mean to baffle or offend, really just venting dissapoinment that I can't do much with G9 as of yet. By key PA's, I should have stated I suppose that what I'm really more picturing are the PAs that basically add funtionality to a generational figure and therefor DS as a whole, since so much of that is left up to the PAs. I don't buy a ton of characters, I buy the ones that really grab me and otherwise rely on all the Parameters I've collected. The stuff that's been released looks great, I just don't need it yet because the funtionality isn't there. I do apologize.
I admittedly don't have a list. I'm watching Zev0 like a hawk, but otherwise I have a huge library of content for G8 and I am no expert on my own library enough to have a handle on exactly which PAs have provided all the things that make G8/8.1 amazingly versatile when I go to use it. I'll need to be reminded as versions of the products and probably largely for me, more general morph packs are released that particularly aren't just a single character slider. It just seemed like the order things have been created/released involving G9 has led to me not spending money in the Daz store recently, when I've been interested in doing so. That's probably just me, my thoughts were ill-formed, I should have kept them to myself and my apology was sincere.
Personally, I have not bought anything since G9 was released. I see absolutely no reason to upgrade at all. There is ZERO jump in realism between G8 and G9. In fact, to my eyes, the current models look like a step back. I see what metahuman from UE5 is doing and I'm awestruck. Meanwhile, Daz is spending its limited time and resources on this...
While calling G9 a significant leap forward. We all know it's laughable.
There's the end of the thread... On the contrary, I'm excited about G9. I want to use G9. I want to buy clothes and hair and poses and morphs. Hence my dissapointment so far, only in that I can plainly see that I can't do much with G9 in practical use yet, so I haven't joined into the fun of buying and checking out all the odds and ends. I have bought more than I may have led on, multiple Zev0 products, a couple of characters and the few morph packs. It's just not enough yet for me to want to buy clothes and hair and poses. It'll get there, I just wish a little more could have been in place to make this all as fun and exciting for me as it is for many, that's all.
Well I guess that I will find out how well those prior toon products actually sold for: JCade, JoeQuick (already answered), 3D Universe, PedroFurtadoArts, AM (his great Man-Hippo), RawArts (a few of his manimals I consider toons), Oso, DAZ Originals, and a couple of other PAs whose names escape me now.
There is absolutely no good technical or artistic reason for me to buy them again knowing that the improved realism in Genesis 9 is not needed in making good toons. That, and the fact that the toons I have from V4/M4 - Genesis - Genesis 2 - Genesis 3 - Genesis 8 - Gensis 8.1 are together more than enough, but doesn't change I'll likely buy the Genesis 9 toons in any case.
The ones that I really want though is DO updated His/Hers Multiman Bundle! Although I guess I could transfer the morphs and materials myself to Genesis 9.
From my perspective, I'm kind of relieved not too much G8/G8.1 stuff comes out. There is still plenty in the shops for me, and it real helps me manage my Daz Assett Acquiring Syndrom. Though I would still love some historical (accurate) headwear and clothing, and some characters with the quality of Vicky 8.1/Jacquiline 8.1/Bluejaunte (male or female), I tend to think this is better for me.
Very much the same here, I'm also relieved that I will finally have to cut down on my spending, because I'm not going to invest in G9 like I did in G8. That said, I do like the free base package with all those textures, also the morph pack, and I did buy V9 and M9, which I think are really well made characters. Of course there'll be lots of new stuff for G9 coming out now, it's only natural, but lots of G8 is still in the store and will most likely stay for a long time. So I don't feel force-fed really.
Well, it's a well know fact in the internet all forums for about every game, computer program and what ever are nearly exlusively filled with a majority of the quite vocal minority... all the people who like something (aka the the forum's minority representing the silent majority) somehow don't feel the need to tell the world or at least their hobbies' community (for some few exceptions of course).
Shouldn't they rather make stuff that their customers want? Or is that one of those "artistic freedom/vision" thing again?
