Sorry to hear that! I got it on a cruise a few months ago and did not enjoy the experience! Highly overrated. Glad you're on the upswing!
NOT something I ever want to re-experience, but I'm finally on the mend after a lengthy hospital stay and many doses of (urgh) Remdesivir (which might be worse than the disease...lol). And I drank water until it was practically coming out of my ears ;). Still got dehydrated anyway. Might take me weeks to feel right, but I intend to play as well now that I have a little more energy :D

I can't find that suit texture set in your G8 suit. Is that for a G9 suit? (Oh, and great job).
I'be been playing around with him, and I can't correct what reads as femmine to me by just cosmetic swaps of eyebrows and eyelashes. I notice the smile- wrinkles around the eyes cast a shadow simalar to a catseye eyelinear. I think to move him more over to the mascaline line you'd have to spin up some shape dials, like the excellent example by mal3Imagery
Anyway, here he is with eyebrows, eyelashes and eyecolour swapped out, but surface and shape settings left as out of the box (his HD version shown).
For some reasonhe reminds me of Elon Musk here, who I believe might have had a few cosmetic touch ups over the years.
Ivar is very red if you leave his surface settings on default, even with corrective lighting (spectral rendering turned on for both of these) and I would recommended the adjustments as posted by Mel a few posts ago.
Forgive the hand pose, my computer is very laggy with Gen9. The banding on his raised arm is a trick of the light and not a defect.
I'm admittedly not an expert on masculine vs. feminine features (I've never once thought about a hairline being male or female, for example), but I can't understand all the comments about him looking feminine.
This. I don't understand the obsession over it. I don't see feminine at all. My features are less masculine and I've never been mistaken for a woman. Just do what all the people with weak chins do and throw on a compensatory beard. Also, I have a trans kid, so the comment about that definitely got a side eye from me.
I don't see it either, ya'll. People come in all shapes and you can even see examples of famous actors "gender-bent" without changing their underlying facial features at all. Not all men are shaped like John Wayne, pard'ner...and not all women are shaped like a Kardashian.

It's interesting. Personally it's a deeply felt instant gut reaction, kind of like the uncanny valley, but for dudes. :D And I love gender-bending actors and musicians, but there isn't any that gives me the reaction I have with Ivar. I know there's a range of facial features in men, the men in my family hve simalar flat facial features.
It's probably down pattern-recognition, but I find it interesting we don't all see the same things!

I'm wondering why they didn't give you Paxlovid? I got Covid twice (!) and immediately started Paxlovid and I experienced only a two day very mild cold, not even a fever the second time (but I'm also triple vaccinated.) The only side effect of Paxlovid is a somewhat metallic bad taste that goes away as soon as you stop taking it. In any case, glad you're feeling better!

In my eyes your changes eliminated all of what seemed to be feminizing traits so I'm going with the eyebrows & eyelashes were the problem then..

Nope it's the G8M suit still. It's using the expansion texture set.
I have not. The hair is actually the martin hair. I converted it over to Blender's Hair System so I can groom it and use the native hair shader.

During the recent webinar i thought i heard Jay mentioned that some of the artwork may have been rendered in Octane. Do we know if some of the promos were actually rendered using Octane Render? If which?
Really? I kinda have a problem with that. Artwork...whatever works for the artist. Promo? Yeah, should be Iray and/or 3Delight (whatever shaders are included in the product). Doing a promo in Octane seems kinda sneaky to me, unless it's specifically stated on the image.
The eyes area kinda reminds me of Owen Teale when he was younger but that just me I guess.
Ivar looks more like a guy who works in IT than a Viking to me. So far the G9 guys seem more like average Joes than the hunkier G8 and G7 males.At least facially. To me, at least.
What's frustrating for me is that I refreshed my cart just prior to purchasing as well as the main page. no banner on either. I make the purchase and there is no banner on the order confirmation page. 10 minutes or so later i refresh main page due to some strange issues with my internet not working and NOW the banner pops up about the gift from Odin.... grrr... talk about ticked off...
Did you get the free items with the bundle though? If I've understood other people's posts here correctly, the second coupon is for people who own all those items, which you would after you got them as part of the deal on the sales page. The "Viking Assets" part.
It wasn't a timing issue, the same thing happened to me. Once I bought the Ivan bundle, the system saw that I now owned all those other items, and sent me a message that I know qualifitied for the extra 20% off since I owned all the viking items. lol, thanks.
If you send in a ticket they're going to refund the price you paid and then you will be able to repurchase the item for the double discount price. They say they are doing it that way so that the both the banners are process properly rather than giving credit around $16 difference. Mind reserve fast it happened within 1 day.
