I don't think you should copy files to the Manifest folders. That would tell DIM that the files were already installed.

I am not prepared to download the normal Daz Studio as when I last heard it causes the metal chips to lock up (I may have that wrong, but it didn't play nice so we were warned to avoid it.)

If you don't have any plugin by Manfriday, DS 4.23.0.1 should work fine on your Mac. If you do have one or more, they will crash during DS 4.23.0.1 starting sequence (Daz Studio will work fine outside of that) and they will not be usable: the problem was fixed in DS 4.23.0.3 and 4.23.0.4.

For reaons unkown, Daz has yet to push either of these PB builds to replace the buggy general release, at least for MacOS users: it would allow them an access to a stable release (I'm using it since its release), one that will not crash plugins or crash itself due to Qt and recents versions of MacOS fighting each other (a problem solved with DS 4.23) and either use it exclusively or alongside the recently released PB DS 4.23.1.x.

With MacOS's you have to type in your password to approve a change to a program or a plugin, well I think my problem started with me miss-typing my password. A bandage on a damaged fingernail. But a reboot of the computer, check of the access approvals, and I found DIM had lost access to the disk and all files for changes. That fixed the issue. And even if DIM thinks the packages are from Oct 2024, the Beta now reflects the new 4.23.1.20 version number.

    Edit to correct spelling.

DIMHelper also needs permission as that is the one that handles software and things that install like software (e.g. plug-ins)

I have bought pretty much every ManFriday plugin and use them on all my computers without trouble. But since I Dec 2024, I have been focused on getting the MacMini set-up and have ignored my other computers a lot.

There is one plugin Daz Support had me remove until 4.22 came out and that was Iray GeoLocator. It gave me issues with the M1 chip. That was fixed and then I started noticing issues again in a later version of 4.23. Not sure just when it happened.

I prefer to use the latest Public Build, so the General Release is safe from me. Thanks for the warning @Elor about those plugins though, I will see how they work on the MacMini M4. I do love Mesh Grabber.
