Xiu Lin 9, the newest character. I wonder if this and Genghis Khan might mean that Lee and Mei Lin won't appear this generation?
Two separate smaller bundles, but no mega bundle. How interesting.
And it appears that completely separate makeup products are indeed a thing this generation, since it's happened with both Xiu Lin and Angela 9, and Freja didn't even have any normal makeups at all. How ... interesting.

Store hasn't turned over for me yet, so thanks for the links. I've got the Xiu Lin banner on the front page, but yesterday's sales page. I like her, but I think I liked Mei Lin 8 more. I definitely don't love the way the bundles are put together.
Just wondering... If PayPal had problems with Havanna Streets, what is their reaction to us buying HD Fanny...
I don't think she's got raw presence to match Genghis.
I think she's very beautiful and a step up from Mei Lin 8 or Clara 8.1, both of whom never entirely clicked with me.
Clara's actually one of my favorites.
My favourite female Asian core characters are Kayo and Mei Lin 7, but Xiu Lin would join them if I I were using G9.
The last East Asian Daz female I was impressed with was Kayo. She has a lot of character. Although I like Mei Lin 8 too, she's a good base for mixing.
Looks like the weakest Daz Originals so far to me ..
There's something not right with Gen 9 .. the PAs seem to be able to do nothing better than a middling Gen 8 / 8.1 with it .. even my favourite PAs .. with only the Daz Originals being decent so far ..
But those God-Awful smiles ... seems like there's only about 4 polygons in the mouth / lips area .. no wonder more and more people are "cheating" the smiles with FaceApp
I have to admit I burst out laghing when i saw https://www.daz3d.com/xiu-lin-9-hd-and-fanny-bundle advertised obviously some words mean different things to different countries even in english.
Think I already have a morph slider for HD Fanny in my Daz ..
I actually like Fanny and Aroon more than Xiu Lin. Is that why Xiu Lin is bundled with Fanny or Aroon?
I am not going to buy both bundles to get 6 free Daz+ items. Wanna make me pay twice for Xiu Lin? No thanks. I think I will just put Fanny and Aroon into my cart.

I fully agree.
The free items are not much of an offer, replaced one of the Xiu Lin bundles with a cheaper Newly Mad and grabbed the Forgotten Courtyard and textures for Salwar Kameez. If there is an other coupon offer later today, I'll happily remove the two 'free' ones from the cart.

I like Aroon and I like his eyes for some reason. Definitely picking him up.
The Aroon bundle also has better looking hair and clothing for Xiu Lin, so no Fanny for me.
Xiu Lin 9 seems to bear a strong resemblence to the famous Chinese actress Gong Li.
I've been searching for a Gong Li lookalike for a while, so really pleased to see this release! Definitely going to buy.
Would charcters that resemble real people be classed as editoral license candidates?
I can't speak to that, but with the shaping dials, would those of us that don't need the perceived famous person's image and change the facial features and body be subject to a license?
A morphable body is different from an object that is somewhat static, unless you have the skills to change it. Or am I totally wrong?
I assume if you change the face your good to go commercialy but that would argubly negate the benefit of buying a ready made character etc
I was much more wowed by Ghengis than by Xiu Lin. However, that is pretty typical for me (I'm a lot more meh for female characters than males. LOL) I like her eyes, but overall she's not for me. I have more interesting looking female characters for G8 and 8.1.
Her skin in the promos, where she is wearing the glasses, looks lumpy to me. Is this just the pic or are you finding this in your renders?
For me the best deal was to pick the 3 characters and make up and apply all tokens. Xiu Lin is okay as a base character. I liked the mixed morphs with Angela and Victoria.
This is Aroon with Xiu Lin's skin. Also added normals both from Angela Scar and Ivar 9. Color is not the best but imo it improves Aroon's included MATs, a bit strong in the yellow for my taste. As said before in the thread, nice eye pack- These are Xiu Lin's eyes, though.

I believe it's the HD morph. If it's a more realistic looking character you might probably think it's fine.
That's why I am not a fan of Xiu Lin. Just can't please both worlds - it's tricky to find the balance between realism and toon, and I just think Xiu Lin lands on a point that is neither realistic nor toony enough and I honestly don't know what to do with her.
It would have been nice if we could pick n' mix from each of the bundles to avoid the items we would probably never use
We have pointed the issue with rhe MM page, yes I am pretty sure that the bundle page itself is correct and the texture expansions have slipped in by mistake on today's page.
