My token expiry dates seem to be correct, or at least plausibnle, just now - we haven't had word of a fix, though.

Yep, mine, too. Went from Nov 20 to Dec 01, two weeks from yesterday's cart.

Yes, confirming my token expiry dates are now different - reflecting the two carts I bought recently - and are much later in the month, with dates that look about right. The count of tokens remained correct.

At least mine are no longer expiring on the 20th! I now have 6 different expiry dates for 26 tokens.

It's a matter of perspective I guess, but I wouldn't take anything in that "Stealz" section if they were offereing them for free; they're simply archaic.

But that's another matter. Personally, I haven't even bothered to check the items included in that section (today's sales haven't drawn my interest). The point still stands, though, that Daz+ has lost value.

If, you are sitting on prepaid daz+ it's value is about the same as it was before. There may be some discounts it does not get that premier gets but even if premier did not exist daz+ might still not get those particular discounts. For someone who does not have a subscription and is thinking about paying for daz+ monthly, it has lost tons of value since it is so much more expensive now.

The last few days, it seems paid membership added nothing to the Daz shopping experience - No specials for paid members.

Yes, and I remember the debut discount was higher for Premier subscribers too. Now I only see the usual 30%... Or did the extra discount for Premier customers only apply during the Anniversary Sale?

Premier subscribers are supposed to get 35% off DO vs 30% for D+. Some of the discounts were higher during the Premier Sale.

Both had higher intro discounts, the premier was higher than the +. That kind of offer has beemn a common feature for the Anniversary sales for some time.

Does the OPEN-B4-XMAS coupon exclude Daz+ items as well as new releases? I put a Daz+ item that is not a new release in my card and entered the coupon, and got “Coupon Not Valid.” I put a non-Daz+ item and the coupon worked on that item.

while trying some stuff out in my cart, I noticed https://www.daz3d.com/platinum-club-freebies#index=0&filtered=1 are now indeed DAZ+ only now,

I had up until this month been able to get them free with a purchase as a base member

even after they had been rebranded as Platnium Club Freebies instead of free with a purchase of a new item, I even tried a new debut item too BTW

Meaningless or not, it did show that Premier got an extra discount while Daz+ got dumped in with Basic, so there were two tiers to the sale, not three. Something that several people argued was not going to happen.

Being a Daz+ member definitely feels like second class now. Or even third, considering we get the same offer as non-members while Premium members get a special.

Not exactly the same: as with any of the similar promotions requiring buying a $1 or more new release, a Daz+ member can buy a new Daz+ item at Daz+ price.

So can a Premier member, but they also got an extra discount. Which lends to the point raised back in October of Daz+ now being second class membership which some people try to argue wasn't true.

... Of course, it's a second-class membership! It's the second tier! If Plus had the same advantages as Premier, it wouldn't make any sense for anyone to be Premier -- and if it happens one day, I'll cancel my Premier membership and jump back to Plus! I thought that should be obvious...

If you missed that part, when Premier was introduced, some people argued that Daz+ wasn't "second class" but just "different tier for people with different needs" (if I recall the wording correctly). It's not about that Daz+ should have the same perks as Premier which you're implying. It's about Daz+ not getting special discounts anymore (which happened in the quoted sale and will likely happen again) which is devaluing the membership (with a message "you're either Premier or you don't matter"). Yes, it's obious and understandable that Daz+ doesn't get as deep discounts as Premier (see token gaining or DO discount). But when the sale says, "offer X, but get extra Y when you're Premier" not mentioning Daz+ at all, that's a different matter, and that was what I was referring to, not some "oh, Daz+ and Premier are not the same".

    Case in point:

It's not that we don't count... but who's counting?

Probably Daz should, their money. It's November 19, and so far, I haven't even used my monthly coupons (hard to do so when every other offer requires a different coupon), and I'm about to let my remaining tokens expire. Unless the next week's offers are spectacular (one can hope for Black Friday, but it also depends on what the sales team comes up with), it's probably going to be the lowest spending month for me. But that's ok. If I'm second class "valued" member, I'll spend like a second class member. I wouldn't be surprised if more Daz+ members felt the same.

I have 20 tokens right now. My Premium free month ends Thursday. That is the end of membership for me. I might use 8 tokens today, but I only have 2 wishlist items that are on sale with large enough discount for me to purchase them. Neither are DO items so the token discount is minimal.  The only other thing I might purchase would be DO items that are highly discounted to utilize the max amount of token discount. I will probably lose most of these tokens unles something big happens in the next day.

I'm betting Black Friday will be something with a coupon code, which blocks use of the membership coupons. I haven't used either of mine this month, either.

Sometimes you feel like they make offers specfically so nobody buys them.

Like today, buy one of a few selected items, to get 60% off any gen8 stuff, 70% off Gen3, and so on.

Considering the age of the products none of these are that good offers, but also, the high buy in requirement too (and most being gen9 content)

At some point, I think there will be a course correction once a certain amount of consistent spenders don't renew their subscription (based on the current choices). I'll be one of them.

...there is something off about the Monstrously Good Sale. It shows a bunch of items, on the main Fantastic Creatures sale page but when I put one of them that is in my wishlist, in the cart, it was still full price.  When I clicked on the "View Items" link to open the full list to see what was up, none of the ones I originally saw were there.

After I put an item in from that page, I realised the ones I  first saw were "buy ins" for the 60% discount, but not tagged as so.  .

    A bit misleading.

Yeah, even if you were getting one of the new releases anyway, it's definitely worth waiting for better unless you're in a tight spot.

But then, I suppose it looks better from a marketing standpoint than just not having any discounts at all?

I really dislike when Daz puts more than one bundle in new releases. Having expensive buy ins for their offers is bad enough, putting bundles in the new releases significantly limits the choice of said buy ins. If I am to pay nearly a full price for a product, I want it to be product I like and want to use. In case of today, it was easy: not interested in bundle 1 (skip all the products in it), not interested in bundle 2 (skip all the products in it), not interested in bundle 3 (skip all the products in it), and a quick glance at the 4 remaining new releases - yup, not interested. No point in checking anything else then.

So yeah, pretty much done shopping for today, unless I care to check LDs. Good for my wallet and time, bad for Daz's revenue, I suppose.

Edited to add: so far, all the "pre-Black Friday" deals were at best lukewarm from my perspective, and I can't help wondering whether it means Black Friday will be lukewarm too. I'd love to be wrong and surprised.

Then, how about the "Pre Black Friday Bundle Bonanza?

It sounds outrageously expensive this recent promotion

I would like to buy some of these items, because I need them, but the requierement to get some X amount of discount is disheartening.

With a limited budget, that not represent a good value.

To put to test that, I had put 3 items from one category in the cart, nothing happens; then put the one item called "Bonanza" nothing happens, there is no real discounts.

See for yourselves what I am talking about

Recently a number of the deals have been broken when I have tested them out either by some items in the qualifying list not getting the discount or not seeming to trigger at all. I didn't report them, though, because the sales seemed okish at best that I figured someone who actually cared about the discount and new releases to trigger it could put a note in on the thread for that sort of thing. Right now we are seeing the garbage offers between the actually discounts. I think it is a tactic to get folks reexcited when they see a series of good deals and more likely to then spend money. If something is always a great deal then it becomes meh, but if you are reminded how much more expensive that stuff is for a period of time then when it is back to a decent price, you're like yay!

Yes, I can see how that could be the case. Personally, I'm kind of happy with this respite between great sales. It gives me the opportunity to try out the items I've purchased over the last few weeks and work on projects. I will definitely greet the better sales with a "yay!"

I was hoping for something grand on my last couple of days of my DAZ membership, but its been overall nothing I need really. I still have 20 tokens that are burning a hole but with nothing cheap enough to buy, they will more than likely not get used. I've been really underwhelmed by the prices and offers since the last big sales. The pricing overwhelms me, most even when discounted.

    bo·nan·za

    noun

    1. a situation or event that creates a sudden increase in wealth, good fortune, or profits.

    2. a large amount of something desirable

... well, assuming you want the bundles, I suppose that's a large amount of something desirable, and at those prices (providing people feel like paying them) it would create a sudden increase in profits for Daz, so... I guess truth in advertising from that standpoint.

Maybe these pre-BF sales are intentionally underwhelming so whatever they toss out for the actual day will look good by comparison? I mean, I really wouldn't have taken them as different from any other random sale except for the label.

  • TomhipTomhip Posts: 381

I for one dont mind having a streak of non-sales. Wallet is still pretty beaten up after Premier sale, not to menton non-Daz, pre-Xmas spending.

  • I was hoping for something I liked, not a pricy product/bundle I'll never need since I don't do animation or yet another cute "Aiko 3 or 4 - but realistic! - Wannabe" (no matter how many alt shapes are included).

Guess that makes me yet another "Won't be buying anything this week" Daz member/customer.

  • davesodaveso Posts: 7,014

some sales are good, some are blah, but the fact remains, there's always another sale.

  • kyoto kidkyoto kid Posts: 41,057

...the PA sale was fantastic,.I cleared a number of items off the wishlist that wre beginning to gather digital dust, including several Stonemason setsl  The anniversary , mm....not so much, even though I could use a Daz+ item to unlock discounts (maybe that's one "perk" they can give to Daz+ members for the extra membership cost).. Bought very little so far and still have yet to use  both my Daz+ coupons with about a week and a half to go.

Disappointed that Tokens are invalid for the actual Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales (fortunately I only have 4 instead of a mountain of them to use up), though 22% off is helpful, that is provided I can find even a halfway decent deal to use them on.

Yeah, that would be the third one or a fourth one since the Premier sale ended. Or, one could say, all of the special offers as there was not a single one that would say "Premier and Daz+ get..." or at least "Premier get X, and Daz+ get Y".
