Also, the MM artists don't seem to change much, do they?

In these kind of sales featured artists are ususally those who have a product as "debut new" or "still new".

Given how large the selection is, I rather doubt it will.

So far, there isn't anything that really does it for me.  Lots of female genesis 9 content and a male mohawk. Tons of that stuff already in the store.

Look at "What's Hot". Female genital anatomy morphs and pubic hair - multiple of each. I guess we are no longer their target customer.

When they released those during the Valentine's Day sale I was most displeased.  Then I forgot about them until I also saw them in the What's Hot section.  It'd be nice to have an option to hide products I don't ever want to see, like these.  I'd rather not have this store become Renderotica 2.0, and I just find it really weird to have several products of the same type like that thrown in the banner where I can't hide them at all.

My reaction is the complete opposite. I'm glad to see this content, especially when it's done with a high level of quality. I'm glad that I can now buy this content here and have not only the discounts but also the QC and product support DAZ offers.

You and I have very different experiences with DAZ QC. Look at the number of stray files and mis-named folders in my root DAZ DIM folder.

I don't think Daz QC has ever been "good" from a customer perspective. path inconsistencies, folder and file naming inconsistencies, metadata errors, corrective morphs applying to more than the intended character, occasionally even missing files, have been happening for years and continue still.
Uh oh. I hear echos of Don McLean in my head. "They would not listen, they're not listening still. Perhaps they never will."

It was once extremely good as was customer service and a whole host of other things. The original company actually seemed to care about quality and customers.

clipped .... Am I the only one who finds all this terribly boring and uninteresting? Does Daz only have (male?) customers who are interested in nothing but Seggs? That would be sad .... clipped

You got me. I had to look up Seggs. smiley  I don't think sex is a banned word yet. Apparently, even the Puritans had it their in vocabulary. Something about whether you are a boy or a girl. It depends on the context. If you use the word in a salacious sentence, then yes that sentence could get the post removed. If this post gets removed, then I am mistaken. laugh

As for the March Quirky Sale (MQS), I have managed to get 12 items, in the past 2 days, off my wishlist at between 80% and 90% with the sale and tokens. When I adjust for buying a New item then it is still above 78%. It is good to have a LARGE wishlist (2693) or to be king! Whichever! cheeky

However, I do agree there is a strong propensity toward adult female clothing and anatomy add-ons. Probably because it sells. I would also like to see a greater assortment of items for kitbashing and male gender style figures. Maybe more NOT sexy armour (sci-fi and historical). ooops I used the sex word!

Wow my heart goes out to you. That level of disorder in purchased products annoys me. smiley

However I will agree with previous posters, DAZ customer service is still very good but it was AWESOME when Cindy was there under the old team. QC was better but some of the problems in my DIM content stem from products in the olden days (man I miss riding my dinosaur). I could only speculate as to the internal issues, but I think it is a corporate issue not an employee issue. EVRYONE I have dealt with at DAZ has been great and tried to do their best.

    Thanks, I forgot about that.

There was literally no variety in my wishlisted artists over the last days. But it makes sense seeing there's not much variety in the debut new sellers either.

@tsroemi, I'm glad that I'm not the only one to notice the one-sidedness of the range. Yes, maybe MM will get a turn towards more variety and more attractively priced, more imaginative offers. It's not bad, but it lacks that certain zing that the big sales last autumn and before Christmas had.

@hjake, I'm not sure what is now considered inappropriate here, but I assume the term ‘sex’ isn't one of them - as you rightly say, unless it's mentioned in a salacious context. I just thought the term ‘seggs’ was funny when I read it in a newspaper article the other day. It was about censorship in social media.

I did exactly what you did: as I didn't like the daily specials, I combed through my WL and found some things that were getting nice discounts with the Gold Stars and the like.

You are spot on and as my good friend Rimmer would say in the most inoffensive expletive possible - SMEG! laugh

Glad you are using the great power of wishlist but remember it comes with great responsibility!

DAZ has never looked more like Renderosity than it has these past two days. I said before that it worried me because I don't want to shop at Renderosity.

Agreed, and going by various comments it would seem some people would like to see it looking like Renderotica.

Oh, speaking of support, I got a fix today in DIM for a problem I reported 17 months ago.. When I reported it, I was told it was a "known problem" reported to QA. I don't know if QA never told the PA until recently, or whether the PA didn't fix it promptly after being told. I was surprised to see a fix after so long. Caveat: I haven't tested the fix yet. I hope it is really fixed.

They must be catching up on a backlog. I just got a fix for one I reported last July. Judging by the dates on the files, the PA fixed it last September, but it wasn't packaged for distribution until now.

Mad Door category could work, if it was priced accordingly.
Most of the items I've seen in the selection have been offered for a dollar multiple times before. Some have been given away as freebies on special occassions, and some have been in the weekly freebies.
Was it a flat 1$ a day, yeah I would definitly get some, but 3$ per item or 2$+20$ premiere fee

Who knows maybe there will be a grab a bag later on... but... hehe... it can very well be hidden behind membership and a buy-in, in which case it will be a month of mad savings indeed.

I shop both places  there is stuff both places that interests me. I don't necessarily want Daz store filled with stuff from both places. The great welcoming brought a bunch of stuff from rendo that really could have/should have stayed at rendo. I don't think Daz was sufficiently discerning about what came over. And some stuff I'd have liked to see here stayed there. Figures!

As for 'rotica vendors moving their adult products here, I don't really see that happening. And I could be wrong.

Well today I got some madness on 11 items at 88% off for the cart, so not too shabby using Lowpi Area and Slope as my new release buy in.

...same here. Seems there has been an increase in the amount of "sexy" and skimpy clothing lately.  .

Oooh, I just love it when I rant here one day about how the sale is all bad and I don't like any of the new things, and then BAM next day, not one but two really nice bundles drop - yay! Sale's so much more fun this way.

I really do like the Cecelia character I think. She looks a bit different. And the dresses are quite, quite nice, also the hairs. I even like the included make-up, that's basically never happened before. If you're into historical-lish renders, these might be interesting bundles for you, too.

Like I mentioned in another thread, I'm DAZ+, had 6 tokens and my DO coupon, and a gold star, and I got the bundles for around 15 and 17 dollars. They got cheaper being bought together.

Renderosity's new stuff page, right this moment, is actually slightly less disreputable. :/ Kinda leaves Posersoftware.com as the only place that doesn't look like [pre-censored description] in this market segment.

I grabbed a few sets and props for the $2.50 deal as a Daz+ member. I'm pretty much tapped out on anything figure related at this point. If I don't already have it, it's not something that's going to appeal to me.

Cecelia 9 is such a pleasant surprise after the last two core characters, although of course she's another white female. But this time it's not a sex bomb that's meaningless at best, but a pretty, individual and ‘normal’ looking girl with a pronounced profile.

I love the themes of the bundles. The dresses and the hairs by chevybabe and Mihrelle are looking great! I've opted for the Corset Dress Bundle and Mihrelle's 'Cecelia Updo'. As a Premier member, I'll get the Character Bundle the day after tomorrow, as I already used my coupon for this month.

Yawn... if Daz want people to buy New Mad Release they need to offer a variety of new releases, so those of us not into Female content have a chance. I'll just of off to other sites having sales just now...

Wow. I disagree with that. I had to deal with RenderHub concerning a PA replacing the download file for a product I purchased with a blank file. In the end I had to talk to the PA on Renderosity to get the issue fixed. I will say RenderHub was responsive to my enquiries, but they could do nothing about PA issues and they are only a broker. I was the one who got the PA to contact RenderHub to workout a resolution. He said he had tried previously but they were not very helpful.

When you buy from DAZ, or Renderortica for that matter, you can deal with the store for issues and the store is responsible for download file management. I know this from experience. I have never had an issue or return on Renderosity so I can't speak from experience, but the way they handled folding HiveWire into Renderosity was very professional.

As for adult products in the DAZ store, they have put a filter on seeing offensive images. They cvould provide more refined filtering and maybe an over/under 18 account status on accounts, but overall I have not seen any indication of a slide into moral turpitude. The fact is female based products fall outsell male only products. The labour investment to make and validate a product just may not justify the return on investment for male only or male converted products.

One thing they have done that puzzles me is offer Poser products. I think Renderosity is a great home for everything Poser.

My hope is that DAZ, Renderosity, and Renderotica/CG-Bytes have a long and successful future. They definetly have to keep moving out of their comfort zone and adapt to the eternal change of markets. So even when they try something and fall flat on their face, I SAY BRAVO TO THEM AND NOW TRY THE NEXT THING.

I have my gripes with DAZ but atleast I always see them trying to innovate and stay relevant.

    .******************************************************

As for today, March Quirky Sale, the dForce Cupcake Hair For Genesis 9 looks appetizing but that is one REALLY BIG cupcake ( https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-cupcake-hair-for-genesis-9 ). smiley I think triple layer cake is more appropriate.

My personal experience with Renderosity is flawless. I only once had to contact a PA because of an product. And it was my own fault, as I had overlooked that it was a "only Poser" product and it took a single message to the PA to get my money back. And just yesterday I received a mail that an product got updated, because the PA had made some mistake when uploading it.

To me, it's really this 'normal' personality type that you pointed out that fires up my imagination for all kinds of interesting stories she could become involved in.
