eeeks .... momma the bad kat is scaring me. Ranger! .... give the coat back to the rat.
I looked at the cats on HiveWire. Very nice but I would second a Daz Genesis 4 Cat and Dog, like they did for Horse 2.
I would also like to have a Daz Genesis 5 Cat and Dog, because generation 4 will probably be without fur. It is hard to predict, when it happens,
so I am back to my own experiments. Millenium Cat http://www.daz3d.com/millennium-cat is rendering nicely in Daz Studio iray.
... so I only need to find a way to put a fur on it. My experiments with fur brushes, does not look so good, so far...
There is a free LAMH preset for the DAZ cat on our site furrythings.com. You can use the LAMH free player to apply the preset if you don't have the full plugin.

To whit...
(I forget if 'number of hairs' is adjustable with just the free plugin... I think so? I upped # of hairs to 500k)
3dl render.
Yes. Number of hairs is settable in the pane.

That looks really good Will. To be honest, I think the older models with fur look better than the newer ones without.
Yes, I have bought a full version of LAMH, but needed to create a conforming fur, that will render enough fast in Daz Studio iray on my computer.
I have a pretty old Nvidia GTX 670 graphic card with 2 GB of VRAM, so I could not use it for larger scenes.
I created a conforming fibermesh on Millenium Cat in ZBrush and on my computer with i7-3770K @ 3.5 GHz, in CPU only mode in Daz Studio iray,
the render below took only 17 minutes 25 seconds, so I am happy with that. Need to further refine the mask, where the fibers will grow, though.
... and another iray render in CPU only mode - it took less than 7 minutes.
If you want conforming, leave the LAMH preset as guides until right before render-time, then export the LAMH FiberHair.

Here's my gripe- any dog or cat models should come WITH HAIR and not need another tool to put it on there. For that matter, any animal sold. It's ridiculous to need LAMH or anything else to make an animal look like it should. (and no offense to LAMH, it can create masterpieces and people are so helpful, as you can see.) If you're selling an animal with 2-4" fur then it should be 2-4" and not flat. Just my two cents.
Back when Alessandro released animals with modeled hair rather than LAMH, they were too heavy for most machines. Might be more feasible now.
With Carrara you can add hair if you need it...
This was rendered in Carrara but I didn't use any hair on the models...
I want a yellow labrador and a golden retriever to work with LAMH. Ther German Shepard is good, but it's not my choice of breed.
I have, but only if they have something worth the effort to wait on the snail site loading. I really wish more sites would dump the excess baggage like DAZ and HW have.
Heads-up regarding today's announcement. The HW animals are coming here.
already was posted here earlier
opps I am having hallucinations again, I swore I replied
Never mind, nothing to see here. Carry on.
Malwarebytes is blocking furrythings.com as a malicious site?
LMAO crazy I say. LOL
And did I understand correctly? The Hivewire animals are showing up here in the store? wow...
I am not seeing that. I run Malwarebytes pro (the paid for version) I don't know if that makes any difference.
Yes they will be.
Eventually. And maybe not all at once. I think the oldest of the horse textures may need updating for the current Iray.
And I would imagine that if/when Chris ever gets the base Dog model done, it may be over here as well.
While I think HW models are nice... I think they are, at best, slightly better than Daz' equivalents.
I want to see what AM can make with a cutting edge figure.
Same here, version 3.1.2.1733. Seems to depend on which browser you're using, I get the warning when I use IE and FireFox, but not if I use Chrome.
Well you never know these days, any site can theoretically be hacked and injected with malware (even Malwarebyte's own forum was hacked). I regularly get phishing emails that links to scripts on sites whose admins apparently don't have a clue about what's going on.
I'm running the paid version of Malwarebytes and it's not doing anything weird about the site. Neither is Bitdefender. Then again, I'm using Chrome, not Firefox.

I cannot image better horse than Mil Horse 2 or a better Dragon than the currect version. Both of very versatile and have supporting iray functionality. Give me something I can't buy already like a better dog, small dogs in particular like poodles. Don't see anything like that
I use FF and nothing is wrong on my end.
