Nothing showing out of the ordinary here.
Kendall
Heck, the millenium dragon one and two still render beautifully as do all of the other dragons available here, especially if you use the Anagennesis script on them.
I love dragons, and after rounding out most of the daz dragon 3 variants, I found myself picking up the older stuff, too. Sometimes they are annoying to pose, but the designs are so intriguing.
Amen to that!
The Big Cat and separate morphs/textures have hit the store.
Completely agree; the new cat releases got a pass from me, they look little better than the millenium ones.
No fur, no sale.
It's beyond time. Especially for the dog.
Obviously, the hivewire cats bend and morph much better than the millenium cat, but without LAMH they look far worse. And seeing as Alessandro was talking about doing his own felines and canines I don't know how much support the Hivewire animals are going to get on that front. On the other hand, the fact that they use one single base on which all kinds of morphs can be applied a la genesis (I even saw a Sphynx morph on their forums) is a great selling point for fantasy and scifi.
Um... crap... I JUST bought all of the Big cat stuff at Hivewire. I should have waited til it got here so that it would be part of my DAZ3D stuff. *pout* Lovely big cat, tho.
I'm holding out for the chihuahua. I like cats, but am more of a dog person.
... and looking at them, $30 is a lot of cash for the one I'd consider if it had fur - the Black Panther (considering its markings it looks like a Black Leopard) requires a another item. I get that I'd have two, but its moot really as no fur. The shape looks spot on though.
There is the Big Cat base, the other packs are add ons.
Just found this thread because it was linked on the Big Cat store page. For those who "need" hair on their critters (like I do), I am very slowly putting together LAMH presets for the different HiveWire animals. Just don't hold your breath, because you will probably expire of asphixiation about a year before the hair appears... A little preview uploaded to my gallery: https://www.daz3d.com/gallery/images/394256/ Other images in my gallery show various stages of fur/hair presets on other animals as well.
LOL about expiring of asphixiation. It's looking awesome, VB!
I know this is an old thread, but did you ever post those presets anywhere?
Not VortigensBane's, but there are LAMH presets ...

Thanks. I already have these, though. I mean for not-so-common animals. Like has anyone created a preset for HWH or for DH? Or any other animals?
Someone is working on one for Harry. No idea of when it will be turned loose.
Good to know :) I already have a full cart of all the deer models over there right now, waiting till I have 'extra' money.
Let there be cuddly dragons
we need a Pallas Cat
A Pallas' cat would be amazing. I really want a caracal, too.
Would still pay biiiiiiig bucks for a proper new griffon (they're half cat, I say it counts).
The paws look like they are coming along, on that render.
FWIW, I have looked from time to time at the other web page that begins with "T..." and some animals -- like flying foxes (aka megabats) OTTOMH -- look like there's been a big improvement, but dogs... not so much.
About figuring out LAMH... I have downloaded the instructions as a PDF file so that's new. I believe I could live with the Lo-Rez Dogs "chihuahua" morph if I could get LAMH to work on it reliably.
I use the Mil Horse once every ten years or so and it's a chore trying to remember what the deal is with the mane and tail. A recent render (eg. 5 days ago) is attached.
Wow, that is certainly a step in the right direction!
...we have Dog8 but are still dealing with the 15 year old MilCat.
I would so love a decent Maine Coon model.
I can understand how difficult they are to model though. Our fleabag Ozzie at times looks huge, bold and regal. Then he sees something he doesn't like and shrinks into a timid ball of fluff with his ruff almost hiding his face. It's hard to believe they are the same creature. He seems so fluid that it's almost as if he's keeping a cat shape as an effort of will and can flow into almost any other shape if he loses concentration.
BTW, Sparky over on her own site, PhilosophersEgg (not Hivewire itself), has brought out nearly a dozen additional breed morphs (with textures) for the Hivewire Big Dog.
Including a fox, and a wolf, and a newborn puppy.
They ought o be able to use the LAMH presets for the Hivewire dog as well.
I'll be grabbing these once I have a bit more disposable cash. I hesitated signing up with another Daz marketplace, but her plethora of morphs for the HW Big Dog and upcoming bear and elephant convinced me as it's been a while since hw3d did anything significant with their dog. The mesh was updated two years ago to accomodate the puppy morph, but they have yet to update some of the poses, accessories and morph packs. One of the reasons I bought Daz Dog 8 was because I updated the hw big dog and didn't realize the mini morph pack (which allowed for additional shaping in the body) and bandana would be rendered unusable, thus killing a character I was working on.
The problem with LAMH is anything that isn't by AM doesn't have a Catalyzer preset...and LAMH for Iray without Catalyzer is nopenopenopenopenope. I have a 1080TI and it's still like N-O-P-E! if I try to do anything more with a LAMH animal besides just pose and render by itself. I have quite a few HiveWire animals that I don't use for that reason. I would gladly pay AM to put together Catalyzer presets for other animals.
Philosophers egg has released some new breeds for hivewire dog.
