Lvl 26 already...good work, more than enough for your 1st major 'battle'... (and nicely on the way for your 'Toussaint' missions......wink )

i did make it to Beauclaire lvl 25..  skipped fighting the bandits.

giant was a tough battle, dodge, whack him, dodge roll

dodged all the drowners at the river bank,
i went up to the inn (no crayfish for the crayfish soup)
went back down to the riverbank, the knight dude took care of all the drowners,
didn't stop to investigate the battle sounds, just kept on riding to the closest fasttravel marker by the city
    lovely city.
found pink dye, dyed geralt's enhanced feline armor.

tried on the lvl 26 griffin gear. >.< it makes him look fat lol  so he's still wearing lvl 25 cat gear
bought a bunch of books to add stuff to my bestiary.

i haven't come across a single hint to find wolf gear.

i'se up to the 'no place like home' quest.  witchers dressing up in Yennifer's dresses.  lol

taking a break from W3 next weekend.  watching 4.5 seasons of Battlestar Galactica.

The 1st clue for the wolf gear is inside the Kaer Morhen Keep; investigate every nook and crack and cratecheeky; the 1st plans are also in the kaer Morhen region....

Oh, wait, I think Hatori has/sells the 1st map (but probably only after you finished the quest related to him...)

Wanted to share a work in progress that people on this thread might be interested in.  Still need to do boots, gloves, and the scabbard.  Probably redo the sword too, I did one (earlier in thread) but it had weird render artifacts due to bad geometry which is why I never shared it. Likewise need to retopo the clothes and then redo all the UVs.  Gonna be a while til this is "done".

In the attached render, everything is my work except Kayless' Gwenilli character and hair on G8F and the leather belt which I need to recreate myself.

    lookin good smiley

mann i had such a hard time escaping jr's house playing as ciri.  had to re/load like 10 times.

  • glaseyeglaseye Posts: 1,311

    That's certainly interesting looking.....

The waist belt isn't yours? (IIRC those segments should be more 'square' looking.)

I'm no modeler, so all I have right now are some swords converted to objects from mods for 'Skyrim', (and those I cannot redistribute....).

She has a leather corset and two belts around her waist. I made the corset and the metal belt with the gems.  The lower leather belt which holds her dagger and a pouch on her back (dagger and pouch not yet made) is from a commercial set.  I made in zbrush by making a brushout of a single segment I created and exported out of hexagon and applying it to a curve in zbrush as an "insert multimesh". zbrush then magically makes it into a belt but it made the segments too small horizontally, so there are now far too many segments. My original hexagon segment also loaded sideways in zbrush (it's slightly rectangular, maybe it should have just been square) which also distorted things.  so bottom line, I need to redo the metal belt. But I know how now so should be easy.  The leather belt will be a little tougher, have to do that from scratch.

This is what I'm using as my reference.

Once you get used to her superpowers Ciri is way more poweful than Geralt. She cuts through those wild hunt guys like they are nothing.  Stab, disappear, stab, disappear, etc until he falls over. And that ability to basically stab five or more enemies at the same time is crazy good too.  But without using the super powers she'll die quickly, that's for sure. I always forget them at first too.

started a fresh game to play simple gwent games with that professor in the inn.

cant catch that theif in a 'prescious cargo' not for nuthin,.  finally just gave him  the box for the 25x points

done all the question marks in white orchid.  found yennifer's dropped crystal.

after all that only up to lvl3. not a single blue or red mutagen,
crafted the 2 viper swords.   had to sell all my runes for emerald dust.
didnt find all the base oils.  think i luted all the bandit camps

  • glaseyeglaseye Posts: 1,311

Well, you'll have to ride Roach hard to catch him... (and finally learn who/what he really is)

All the side quests and just lvl 3? I would guess you still have a few left...  (some markers only show up when you're near to them..)

And loot just about everything (including picking herbs/flowers) ...... sell what you don't use, you'll need the money......

You didn't find the crystal before? It was one of those things I went looking for instantly after the opening Ghoul fight. The opening cinematic so clearly transitioned from that crystal to the game start, it had to mean something ...... wink

in my other play thru, she didn't seem particularly interested in it when geralt had it.

selling the box it was only worth 2 crowns.

i'm looking for another bear to make the enhanced beast oil. feel bad about killing a bear tho.

do you remember which oil to defeat the griffin?

altho if i defeat the griffin i'll lose my gwent buddy.  peaceful gwent without scorch cards.
i like to play the spy card and then freeze his 1st row.  muwahahah

  • glaseyeglaseye Posts: 1,311

The griffin is a hybrid, so that would be Hybrid Oil. I don't recall you can find the recipe for that in the White Orchard region. (In the tips before the fight it is mentioned to use the thunderbolt potion, but I never did use that... )

The Raven from the intro makes a re-appearance (much) later in the game, though as I've always given the crystal to Yennefer, I can't say if that is a requirement for the re-appearance or not....

  • MistaraMistara Posts: 38,675

actually i doo have hybrid oil. thanks smiley

IIRC, the Griffin weapons/armour can be equipped at level 7/8..... if you have them of course.....

  • MistaraMistara Posts: 38,675

i found Griffin diagrams at Dragon Grotto.  is listing as lvl 11.

when i started this playthru, i started it as not having played Witcher 2.  i'm wondering if this significantly changed things.  i didn't find a blue mutagen until Velen.

i'm having trouble reading the dialog, my vision poorer lately.

i dont really want to do the cave thing again with Keira.  I like Keira, but is a long time in the dark.

Dandelion has a flair for style.smiley

oh no, knew i was at the right farm to meet Lethos.  is an activateable sidequest but had to choose the simulate played witcher 2 cryingcrying

wonder if it's why Griffin gear is level 11 for me, instead of level 8 other sites mention.

IIRC, when you start a new play you get 3 options (at least on the PC version): The most clear one is the option to load a W2-save file, the other 2  are for either let the game ask you (at your 1st shaving) the various questions, or to skip the questions..... personally, I find the game description of the latter 2 options quite confusing; wouldn't be the 1st time I made a wrong choice there... But yes, if you choose the option were you don't get the questions, then you will not have the option to met Letho (and also not Sile).

Will have to check in my game what lvl is indicated there for the griffin gear, haven't played Witcher 3 for quite a while now.... latest playthrough is now in Toussaint (I think the part were I've just had my boots shined .... enterprising little swindl.... erm Lad..... cheeky )

lvl 11!  kitted up in griffin gear.  i like the ribbons on the sleeves.  daz stote needs new chest armour with ribbons

in family matters was all set to try the other option for the botchling, cuz i've always done the lumberkin.  when it came time to choose the pellar/blood option, couldnt do it >.<  i feel better about it when ot becomes free spirit

freed the tree spirit early, got absolutely no xp points from it.  there was no dialog about saving the children. went to see the orphans, but anna isnt there.  went to see tamara.

took down that levl 14 bandit camp with the alt yrden, so funny to watch it zapps the bad guys.  thre all my graoeshot at them, and the poison bombs.

failed the quest to defeat the striga at the warehouse. my lvl too low, was one of those quests doesnt wait

  • glaseyeglaseye Posts: 1,311

    Busybody..... cheeky

(BTW, no Striga's in the Witcher 3 game... I guess you mean the Ekimmara .... wink )

oh,  thought the merchant said striga
and i have the vampire oil now. i was like lvl 5 at the time and the quest said 13
was the warehouse of woe quest

    >.< i haz 2 failed quest, warehouse one and the brother in law was ko's in the fake papers quest.

i luv swimming for novingrad near the beginning.  if i had to wait to get to the baron doubt i'd play so much.

thinkin take a break from my carrara proj to finish the keira cave quest.  need the gizmo to find the cat gear.
i have the superior ursine diagrams, havent found the base yet

lvl 11, dunno if i can survive the skelliga trip yet.  need bloodmoss.
