The warehouse of Woe, ah, yes, the human and dwarf dispute.... turns out there's neither a striga nor a vampire at play ...... smiley

A little sidetrack. The Wicher 3 appears (to me) to be inconsistent regarding 'higher vampires'. There are at least 2 occasions (that I know off) in Novigrad were you can encounter AND kill a higher (human looking, like Regis or Detlaff) vampire. Yet in B&W it is specifically stated that ONLY a higher vampire can truly kill another higher vampire.   (Still not sure what Orianna is .... bruxa or higher vampire ... )

the ciri backstory is in the sapkowski witcher books.  she's a much more complex character there than she is in the game.  wilder, and more tormented.  her backstory with yennifer is even stronger than her relationship with geralt.  good stuff.

i'm currently trying to remember where i found the recipe for superior northern wind last time i played.  though it's probably a random chest drop.  also gwenting every blacksmith, armorer, and merchant in sight, hoping the odds will finally deliver the villentretenmerth card...

just found the shaitan chest armor thisafternoon, though, and i'm very happy about that.

And even though you "meet" Ciri's father early on, you don't know this bit about him up until long, long later.

CDPR is a great gamedev studio, but they spoilt the story so much for the English-speaking world.

Haven't read the books; maybe that is a good thing.... gamewise speaking.

There are dutch translations; sofar found a review of the dutch 'last wish/sword of destiny' translation which apparently is based on the polish to german translation. According to the reviewer that did decrease the 'reading pleasure' (not sure how to translate that, hey dutch guy, remember wink )

yep, got the smelly cheese sword.  3 rune empties to fill.

    the downwarren villagers doomed again.

There was an option, when Baron said he'd take his wife to a healer far away.
I was sorely tempted to answer, 'doesn't make sense' to see if Baron and Anna would stay at Crow's Perch.
    Too late now.

    Won the Velen gwent matches.
1 fist fight left with the Smithy.

    up to lvl 14!!

asking the innernet, no one is posting what happens if picking the 'makes no sense' option.

Yeah, never sure if it is for the wares they offer, or the prices they ask.... wink

I don't think you can make the baron and Anna stay. AFAIK, they either both live and leave or they both die (come to think of it, I never tried the 'no sense' option either ...)

Soooo, time for a retry of the game for me. Previous plays were done with the 'old' GTX 680 card, now replaced by a GTX 1060 (should give performance comparable to the GTX 980)

Well, since you appear to hang around fine in an English-speaking forum, you could read the English translations, I guess =) They don't exactly do justice to pan Sapkowski's mastery of style and voice, but at least you'll get to know the characters as originally envisioned.

The Wiedźmin saga is basically the Slavic analogue to LotR or ASoIaF in terms of how influential it is in the fantasy scenes of Poland, Russia, Ukraine...

Just done that; only difference is that the baron gives you a bit of an annoyed reaction..... no different scenario....

Even after the many playthroughs I've done, there are still a few surprises left, like a place of power I missed in Novigrad. Or an alternate entrance to the grove... (obviously spoilers ahead in the video)

Don't think you can get to that PoP in advance; I did get to the 'village' beneath Bald Mountain, way before I found Ciri, in one of my ealier plays. The road to the top was 'blocked' by some veeeery high level monsters (but even if I would have been able to bypass them, the gate would be locked...)

No need to climb the scaffold, you can talk from below to that dude (just need to position 'yourself'' just right....).

  • jardinejardine Posts: 1,202

nope...there's no way to climb up to that place of power early.  you have to get the denier's oren and go through that sylvan first.

Personally, I think this is one of the very rare moments in the game were the 'evil' choice turns out to be not so evil, though it will take quite some time before you find that out (making her leave means you will meet her again in a different place, later...... ). But yeah, usually I make your choice as well smileywink..

  • Hello, I've been working on an Adda morph. I took images of Adda from the game into FaceGen to give me a starting point, then moved that into Hexagon. If interested I need some help I don't know how to save out just a head morph to share, I tried some tests but they all failed. The texture I'm using is Godin's Darla which I think is spot on; so to get my exact results you would need to buy the Godin character for skins. I'm just trying to figure out how to share my custom head morph. Important, I need to run the morph through morph_fixer_64bit to clean up the eyebals and teeth becuase FaceGen destorted them all to crap. My morph is not using other morphs, FaceGen with some cleanup in Hexagon, one solid slider to control it. I have Xmorphs but have not tried to use it yet, would that help in saving out a shareable morph?

I've started the crown (still unfinished) the hair is LongStory Hair. I will be making all her clothing too.

With the figure selected in the viewport, go to the

    File - Save As - Morph Asset(s)

    menu.

In the window that pops up, fill in your name and product name. Then expand the tree until you get to your morph. Check it (make sure not to check any other sliders!) and hit "save".

Then in the data folder there will be created a new folder under the "morphs" of your figure (I assume it's G8F?). You will need to recreate the path leading there manually in an empty folder, copy the .dsf, zip it up and then you can share.
