    Sometimes the temptation is too great...

    What's life without goosing your new bride right as the photographer snaps the photo?

    Good one! I was a photographer, and shot weddings for six years (enough for me!) and saw some...interesting things. %-P

    A few links aren't working.

    Just a few hours... but today's the income-tax deadline in Canada, and I didn't want to have to compete for bandwidth with everybody e-filing their returns at the last minute.

    At long last...my first entry in quite a while, and after this it may be another while. Struggles!
    Thankfully, a ruling was made that allows composite images. The whole scene was done with one UberArea light plane, as the ceiling (not shown) to simulate soft bounced lighting. I used a second UberArea light plane with an image attached to simulate a TV screen glowing onto the scene. My computer said...NO! NO! NO! And it crashed, and the textures went all crazy. So I saved the main character to a new scene and just rendered him with the TV glow, which turned out kind of red-ish. Unfortunately, DS will not reflect even an ambient light on a surface unless it, too, is in the camera view. So no reflection in his glasses. Composite was done in Photoshop CS2. Attached is a screen cap of the design mode showing the simulated TV screen.

    Rendered in DAZ|Studio 4.5 Pro.

    I like this entry: interesting play on words. Is that a "Heroes" shirt he's wearing? :)

    You get the prize! First one to recognize it. It's not the exact solar eclipse, that's probably trademarked. I got the eclipse from NASA's site. Do you recognize him? I did my best to make him with the morphs and dials.

    Dana

    I didn't recognize the character. ^_^; He's from the third season, right? He looks pretty close to the character in my opinion. :)

    I only watched a little of the first season of Heroes, and I'm used to seeing Heroes' solar eclipse logo occasionally while I'm browsing the Net.

    One sees that all is quiet. One goes to bed. One wakes up and everything's changed! Three new entries at the last minute! What, are you guys having your own mini-contest to see who can be the last one in the door?

    Don't care, all that matters is, absolutely, thank you very much to the tardy ZamuelNow, DanaTA and Alexa Sears!

    ENTRY #14 from DANATA is very striking indeed with its lighting and composition. I'd say it's definitely worth the mighty struggle, Dana!

    Alexa commented on the "Heroes" T-shirt, taking me by surprise that she knew Bowie's album, the cover of which has just been reprised in a way for his latest album. Of course I went back to look at the shirt and saw that it was nothing of the sort and nothing I'd heard of, so once again I'm out of that loop! But he DOES look a bit like Hiro Nakamura.

    Got Renderosity links here for Astrid, Floors-n-Walls, Asian Luxuries Room Screen and Kitchen Add-on Pack, but of course there are loads of other freebies with qualifying links, so ...

    ENTRY AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCEP -- twang! -- TED!!!

    ENTRY #15 from ALEXA SEARS is quite funny and wholly unexpected, April Fool's seeming such a long time ago now. Terrific expressions and a very cool concept.

    Eight freebies with all links (Dana and Tramp's help appreciated) now checking out fine means ...

    I'd like to send out SPECIAL THANKS also:

    * To DanaT, Chohole and Krissy for sticking close this month and helping me keep things on the rails, and to Tramp Graphics for also stepping in to check freebie links;

    * To Kendall and Alexa Sears for keeping the Challenge Archive site up to date -- almost (missed the last two entries, including Alexa's!) -- and for posting my Agnes renders as NAEs, which I was not expecting but really appreciate;

    * To BWSMan, jeeperz and nitehawk_ltd for adding to the month's erudition and amusements;

    * And to Ariaso, CaliVee and Pope Francis for dropping in to say hello, even if we didn't get to see any artwork from them in April -- there's always this month!

    Congratulations to all of the winners and thanks guys. I want to also thank Dorsey and LG for hosting. It was a very fun month. Love the illustrations. I bet you are very tired. I know I was after my month. I want to thank our very generous sponsors. The contest would be fun but having those carrots dangling in front of us just makes the pot sweeter. So on to next month's challenge. I am going to have to think hard as to what to render. See you on the flip side.
