  • Got a really dumb question

Will the plug in be a one time purchase or will we need ot buy a new one when Daz issues major changes? Like if I buy it now and Daz releases v5.0 will owners of the current plugin get a free upgrade or will we need to by the next version of the plug in

This is a good question, if we don't do any major update "like for example introductng an amazing feature that turns our plugin to  v 2.0" then no, you will not need to pay for a newer version and you will get a free upgrade. I don't expect any major updates that requires a new version given the nature of the plugin "at least for a good period of time" and we will continue to support 1.x for at least the next major release of Daz and I think Daz will mostly likely take into consideration plugin compatability with newer versions so rest assured you won't get into unexpected surprises.

  • thanks for the quick answer, was just about to delete that question since I already bought it.

    Having a slight issue

When I select the GamePrint pane I get a popup window with only the option for 7 inch standard model? I can not select the 5 inch or one of the other finishes. Are these options not offered yet or did I install something wrong

    ALSO

Does Gameprint have a listing of guidlines and best practices when it comes to setting up a model for printing?

  • When does the Primer option go live? Seems to be greyed out at the moment.

Can you only select 7 inch models and standard finsih as well?

if you go through the process of ordering there are options for 7inch and primer/collectible on the website, the plugin might need an update so we can select these options within DS, but you do at least get the option as your going through the process

  • Thanks wanted to make sure it was working right before I hit order. So as of right now the options in that popup window can be changed once you connect to their service

  • How well does the printing system interact with the LAMH plugin?  Can it handle all the little hairs?

We submitted an update of the plugin but all functionality is on the site so once the upload finishes then you can change the selection.

You can change the selection once you are redirected to the site, the plugin got submitted but needs sometime before updating on Daz store.

Not sure, will need to investigate with our production team

  • I asked this before but I might not have asked it correctly. I understand Daz products have a non commercial for private use only when it comes to 3D Printing. If I bring my own model into Daz and submit it to you for ordering does it fall under these same rules? For example

If I take a model vehicle that I made in Blender import it into Daz as a way to submit it for printing do the fact that I used your Daz plug in prevent me from selling that model?

Maybe this would be a better way to ask

Would Game Print perfer orders for non Daz items be submitted through your Fabrelic brand?

I plan to get plenty of use out of you Daz plug in just wanted to know if I should also set up a Fabrelic account for those non daz items

I'm not sure how Daz will handle such scenario so I need to ask them regarding whether an imported model will fall under the EULA or not. Generally speaking you can use Fabrelic for any model not made with Daz, the plugin is optimized for Daz workflow.

Content that isn't from Daz is governed by the EULA from the source - if that source is you then you can grant yourself whatever permissions you need. DS itself, apart from the content, places very few restrictions.

If I made a centaur, simply by hiding the upper part of a Daz horse and the lower part of a Daz person, just by positioning them in Daz Studio (without any additional modeling changes), would it be printable?

I know Daz has a centaur in the store already.  This is just a question of what can possibly be printed so I can know how creative I can be.

It might run into problems when optimizing due to the combined figure mesh and the many hidden parts. I also would think that DS specific things like smoothing and collision wouldn't work well with the conversion also.

I went ahead and picked up the plugin tonight myself and I am saving for a figurine or two, but i also want a larger size like 12 inchs or more.

This is one figure I am thinking of having printed, but will probably have to repose a few things so that it would print better and not have small, breakable parts. Feedback from Gameprint on any posing changes they think would be needed would be helpful.

Your Figure, printed in 22 in, would easily fit between my Fantasy Figure Gallery collectibles. So I´m also waiting for different sizes.

If you submitt a order to Gameprint, they will check your submission if it is doable and there is a chatbox to communicate possible issues.

Just a thought, I´d use a different hair, maybe some braid, because hair thats far off the body, like in your image, will always be a massive painted block. Its not only when printing, also if you create something from clay or any other material.
