Well I love the ones where the PA's product is the ONLY one out of place, and glaringly so- and I report it and nothing gets done. It's really pathetic. Example, if for a Genesis 3 character, instead of having Person A under Characters, it's out there in the main selections where Characters is located.

@lyoness Well at least yours is never the problem!  yes

My runtime is a mess because of bad and messy  installers.  It makes me sad because it’s a fairly logical process that should be easy to adhere to. I find the easiest thing is manual install.   I remove all junk installed and insert like readmes, vanity folders and links to stores.

Technically it shouldn't be difficult - just uninstall the product at the current faulty location and install the updated file that contains the correct path. Both functions are already available in DIM so it's just to update it and add a "move" flag to the manifest file for the product. And with all the mistakes that are being made it might be relevant.

I'm not really clear why the dim installs aren't being tested? Before we roll out any sort of software we always test that stuff installs in the right place... Directory errors would be caught during such a simple test process.

@Barbult I know you rendered and showed Vini off here.  I got him too and was testing him out.  I like his look.  He's a bit different, with the thicker lips (which I may need to make less glossy).  His face does take on expressions pretty well.  However, I'm getting a pretty bad seam.  Also, there is a big diff between the face color and hands (which kind of look anemic).  Are you, or anyone else getting this?  If it is an error, I'll submit a ticket in.

I am partial to larger lips. His shape looks good. Those seams look odd though.

No, it wasn't me. I don't have Vini.

    "Hurry up...and stop showing off!!"

The race is on. Fat Bike and Dirt Bike Poses for Genesis 8 Male. Setting is a mix of Ridge Walk Mountains and Salem Church (I've used this combination before, so it's an old scene reimagined).

Have you tried applying his material presets to see if they are doing the same thing? It almost looks like the character preset has the wrong settings to me.

I haven't tried working with Vini as I'm in the middle of a big production using Liam, (and it's really bogging down my computer!) But…

Kagiso is from the same vendor, and he had issues with seams showing, different "colors" for the face than the rest of the body and so on. Barbult and I both filed tickets on it, and parts of it got fixed, but not all. The problem with Kagiso, which may also be a problem with Vini, was in the color parameters for the Translucency setting. The colors should be the same for all the Skin materials, including the lips.

Here's the image I shared with Support, with the settings for Kagiso:

    Kagiso Translucency Settings

I'd select all the skin zones and make sure both color settings are identical for all materials. If you have to make changes, be sure and save your own material presets. Then file a ticket with Support. Be very specific about the issue. (The ticket for Kagiso is still open. And his fingernails load green!)

I'll take a look at the my first opportunity, but I suspect you'll have already checked this.

Great minds, Daywalker! And at the same time, too.

  • Worlds_EdgeWorlds_Edge Posts: 2,152

@daywalkerdesigns - I believe I did that, but I will check after a render is done.

@ladair - I didn't fiddle with anything as I didn't think it could be fixed by me.  Now that you've shown me what to play around with, I'll give it a try.  My computer is a bit tied up so I don't know if I'll get to it tonight.  Thanks!

@Rgcincy - what a great render!  Very imaginative scene and perfectly executed.

Yeah, I noticed that; I'm looking at it on my smartphone and it sticks out badly on that small display.

Yes, but I don't use Smart Content. So for me, it's true. Sounds like a pain for Smart Content though.

@rgcincy   That is a hoot!  You've got a great start on the bicycle race!

well, I've changed things up now so that in the future there will only be ONE character file.

Heads up- 75% ironman Flash Sale with ANY new release. I don't need poses but am picking up the ones with props only.  Sorry, don't have time to do the links like I normally do, I'm really busy at the moment. But here's some to take a look at that has props- some with morphs. They're going for various prices-  $3.99 (bathroom $5.73) $4.23, etc. Very cheap.

Lots of great renders! Love the big bike render.

Pretty much one of the few purchases that I've made this year.  Here is Akiko 8 groupings, Akiko, Salem, Yuka, Giada and VYK Rose(human)

Unlike most of the March Madness stuff the qualifying item can be PC+, this really is a great deal.

@cismic   An interesting approach and results. I haven't tried that and it definitely gives a different edginess to the figures.
