@Novica I hope you find the little rabbit. I bought the Pro-Studio HDR light set after seeing your renders and I'm using your settings as a starting point smiley

@RichardHaseltine, I went and looked Anthony Ainley up and and I see what you mean. Aldo does look similar in this pose.

@mollytabby   I just got back.  No luck. I even drove around the parking lots. Looked for about an hour. I'm hopeful the owner found it, since it was out in the open. But as I was on my way there, got a call that Mom fell. She's okay, but it's ironic I was only five minutes away when I got the call, back over in her neighborhood trying to do Rabbit Rescue.

I had to look up Anthony Ainley and I can see it.

Mom was congested/coughing and strangling last night so I demanded the staff have the doctor see her Monday (she's 90 years old) and they put her on breathing treatments. (After I demanded Saturday night that they do something, btw. She was coughing and congested when I talked to her three days before THAT. I assumed the facility was doing their job and giving her SOMETHING for it but when I met 15 minutes with the nurses and we went through her paperwork, she wasn't even on Mucinex!)   Her temperature was 99 this morning and now 100.something so we are sending her to the Emergency Room. They said they heard wheezing in her lungs. Edit: So I won't be back online for the next few days much, but will let you know what's going on. My sister from Jacksonville just happens to be coming here for a few days (Spring break, she's a teacher) so that worked out.  TTYL

This turned out pretty good so I thought I'd post it. Red Fox by AM on a dForce primitive sphere with two added toruses. Background is one Novica shared some time ago.

Wishing your mom the best, Novica. You are a good daughter, always looking after her best interest. It is nice that you live close enough to help so much. I'm sure she really appreciates it.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom, but it almost sounds like her falling was actually a good thing, getting you to the facility and getting your mom the extra attention she needed right then and there. "Funny" how things work out so well, isn't it? Lke everyone else, I'm wishing your mom a full recovery.

Sorry you didn't find the rabbit, though. I hope he/she is back home and safe.

I'm back home for an hour or two, Mom does not have the flu, heart checks out fine (EKG), she does not have Strep Throat either. Has an upper respiratory infection, bronchitis, etc. They Xrayed her knee just to be on the safe side, all knee replacement hardware is fine and in place. She'll be in the hospital for a couple days (which is good.)

She will be monitored more closely in the hospital, and there, this crud is less likely to evolve into something else. I'm so glad you were able to be there so fast this morning. And having you there undoubtedly made her feel better, too.

Best wishes to your Mum, I hope she's well again soon. I guess the hospital is the best place for her just now.

P.S. I did decide to pick up Liam today rather than Aldo - I wanted to use my PC coupon on Aldo but couldn't do that with a cart full of free DOs (without going the retrospective ticket to CS route) - then I realised he should still be in "Still Mad" for at least one more day, so maybe tomorrow he will come and join my other men.

Thanks all, appreciate it. I'm headed back to the hospital about 7am.

Read a suggestion in the sale thread- which works for me- if you are getting the stupid 404 errors (which have been going on several days, c'mon Daz!) then put a / at the end of the URL.

Best wishes for your mum, Novica- I hope she has a speedy recovery!

That fox is awesome-and great use of primitives for the cushion.

And thank you for your review on Liam, I'm very glad people liked him as much as they have.  :) Thank you!

@darwinsmishap   My pleasure, he's got so much personality!

My computer is totally bogged down, memory is full. When trying to find out what exactly to do to move content and what is involved, I ran across this post.  Kudos to @haslor for going waaaay above and beyond in helping to explain what steps to take. Right now I have too much going on to attempt this, but I need to do something. For the basics-  I'm not clear on this-  I can leave the studio on my desktop but have the Content Library products on the external?  The thing that worries me is the comment about updates, if I have the DIM to the new external path, and the path changed in the studio, is there anything else I need to do?  Is it as easy as just the DIM and studio path to the external, for just moving the content and not the studio?

  • DarwinsMishapDarwinsMishap Posts: 4,087

I have 80% of my conent on an external, but that's nearly full atm.  I have the base Studio program on my HD.  The one thing I've noticed is if you put the base program elsewhere, some shader systems don't work the way they should. I've had that happen the three times I've tried to just keep everything on the external.  The new stuff I've gotten along the way is on the HD with Studio, but you can naviage DIM to other save areas.

    and thank you!  XD

This is a render of Vini for Genesis 8, today's bonus Madness Offer. He cost me $2.64 because I have the Edward 8 and I'm a PC club member.

The main reason to leave the main program on your main c drive is because a lot of the plug ins won't work if unless they can find Daz in the C drive.  You can put then on the external but at least half of them won't work.  Its really not difficult to move everything, its just a matter of not missing a step, and pointing everything to the right place. I've done it at least three times now (and I follow the directions exactly every time lol)

I don't think I've ever installed DS in the default location, and I never had a problem with plugins. Granted I certainly don't have all exiting plugins, but still...

I don't allow anything other than the OS, drivers, antivirus and monitoring utilities on the C drive

I have Studio on my F drive and all of my content on my G drive with the paths designated in Dimm and have never had ant problems with anything working

  • IceDragonArtIceDragonArt Posts: 12,548

That's weird.  Maybe it works okay in later versions.  I was very specifically told certain plug ins would not work.  Well, I will be happy to be wrong if that's the case lol!  Not redoing my whole system but the next time I will know.

Mines installed mostly on the d drive. Unfortunately some elements of studio installed itself in the c drive without asking me. My c drive is a 250 gb ssd.

@Novica and @DarwinsMishap , thank you. I did struggle with his clothing a little, but I think it was due more to my inexperience than the model. I also need to save up for Fit Control for the Gensis 8 males. I have the G8F version and I find it really useful.

For $2.64 he's not bad at all smiley while I wait for Christian.

On my laptop, I have DS software on the c: drive and content on an external drive with no problem.  My DIM install packages or list (not sure what you call them) ar also on the c: drive (default).  In order to open up some room, I moved the install files but that did create an issue.  DIM no longer saw the files as installed so it was offering to install those same content files.  I was worried that this meant that DIM would not know to give me product updates, so I put them back, and everything is fine.  Based on that, I think you should keep the intall files on C: unless you can point DIM to a different "installed packages" path.

As far as whether to redownload using DIM or simply copy over (or cut/paste) the library to the storage drive, I think either is fine if you keep the DIM install packages in place - again so DIM knows what content you have and which should be updated.

@novika I know you have a "thing" about eyebrow shapes.  Did you know Sakura's eyebrows have like a million morphs to play with?  You can thicken, change shape, etc.  I played with it to thicken up Sasuke's brows (he uses Sakura features).

Here is a closeup of Bradbury Suspended Rail System.  That's Giuseppe being an action man.  I'm in the middle of another render with a Daz background (the one in the render here is a pixabay background).  Afterwards, I'll try to get some more long distance shots for here.  Anyway, I think it has great texture and looks very realistic.  I'll try to get some inside shots too, but I don't know if I'll have a model inside and making them sit/fit is sometimes difficult.

Hah! My mind is already making up a story about an assassin leaving the scene of a crime that he may or may not have committed cheeky. What an amazing render!

Anyone pick up Aiko 8? I really like the looks of her, but can't get anything till next Tuesday. I'm wondering what her skin looks like and whether she avoided the dreaded orange tan. She's the first of the 8's that I actually really like.

Okay, he's nuts. But here's another fun video for you. Note the part about "less likely." Unless that's  100% for sure, count me OUT. (Actually even if it IS 100%, count me out.)
