None of the root node's xyz were used. I used only the hip. For the hip, the rotations and translations were selected, and that still has it floating and not going to the ground.
So I got curious and just tested it with what you said. (LOL at least I think I did.) I moved my plane up, so it wasn't at 000. I put my figure in T pose on that plane. Again, I saved, not using any root node xyz info, only the hip (with the Y trans to zero as you said.) I did the preset with the hip trans and rotations. It still floats in the air, it doesn't go to the plane. (Don't get me wrong, floating is fine. But you're saying it should go to ground (the plane, wherever I have it.) Am I missing something?
A pose should use the hip transforms to keep the figure on the ground (if appropriate - a pose for swimming or flying wouldn't). The figure node should be reseverd for placement poses (to locate the figure in an environment).
I usually just hold ctrl and apply the pose. I don’t like my pose moving or rotating from where I want it to be so I just do that automatically. I then double check it’s dropped to the floor.
I usually apply the pose. Curse as figure teleports, hit Ctrrl-Z, then Strl-click to re-apply the pose
@richardhaseltine Right, I don't use the General for the root node, so I'm not deciding where it will go in the environment. Is a zero for the Y translation (for the hip) supposed to put the figure on the ground? Because it didn't. (I did translations and rotations for the hip for the preset. Nothing for the root node which affects where it goes in the scene.
You were using the pose on the shape it was made for?
If you want the whole building you'd have to stack the floor sections. Seven stories is about the minimum height in NYC where you see rooftop water tanks. The majority - something like 12,000 to 15,000 are wooden and in various degrees of weathering. Many of the older buildings don' t have full HVAC systems... just a boiler in the basement for heat and ACs on the windows. Those roofs are more pleasant to hang out on Summer evenings. The fans from an HVAC system are somewhere between very loud and deafening. So leave the blowers off if you want to depict rooftop hangouts.

Yes. Genesis 3 Female. I did the pose preset. I tried it on a pose that didn't have hip rotation or translation, all settings for hip were zero, and another pose that had it. On both, I didn't do anything with the General for the root node. Just rotation/translation for the hip. Apparently I'm not the only one with the floating figures because quite a few of the pose sets in the store, the figures float. That's why I'm wondering what they're supposed to do.
No, that would be something to report via a Technical Suppot ticket - though in the meantime there's always Drop to Floor (cmd/ctrl-d).
Huh. It's been almost two hours since the store turned over, and I'm surprised the sale thread in Commons isn't active at all. I'm sure some people who bought things yesterday aren't pleased with the free $20 DO offer today, because had they waited, it may be a better deal depending on what you bought.
So how to milk the system. If you want the artist studio bundle, consider buying those individually to get the three items (tested it and 7.64 for the outfit, 7.07 for the studio, 6.22 for Aldo. Total is 20.93 compared to 17.00 for the bundle So a difference of only 3.93 if you are doing the artist items. Then you get $20 of DOs FREE. (Subtract that 3.93 from the $20 free and you're coming out ahead $16.07)
The reason this works- two of those artist bundle items are NEWLY Mad, so you get an extra 10% off. If you use the Enigma from Still Mad for your third item (Instead of all three artist items) to get the DO freebies, that goes to $3.15 and 84% off.
There may be cheaper Still Mads, I won't see them if I've already bought them. But I don't think I had bought anything cheap in the past couple days. So bottom line, pick up TWO Newly Mads to get the extra 10%, then add a third from there or the Still Mads, and get the $20 of Free DOs. And you can do this MORE THAN ONCE (or should be able to.) That Enigma Outfit can be bought several times.)

Yep, you can definitely get $20 off DOs more than once. Here's what I did (and yes, it does require spending money and depends on your goals. I was looking at that Sakura Pro Bundle the other day and even though it was $35 (or $37) I would only want it to putz around. (I don't do anime in books, etc) Anyway, I only wanted Sakura, a hair, and a character, and I ended up getting those for: Sakura 11.47, Hinami 3.53, and Anime Bun Hair 3.71, for a total of 18.71 :)
I am going to see what I can wrangle on a third order- and don't forget you can use your PC+ codes! I could have gotten $6 off Sakura and gotten her for $5.47
I ended up spending 60.62 but got the $40 of free DOs and Art Studio, Enigma, Aldo HD, French Painter Outfit, Suspended Rail System, and 60 Essential Faces, all new products. 9 things, so $6.73 each. If people don't think March Madness has great deals, they're wrong IMO. Look at these discounts!

DOs come to 72%, (which you didn't question!) with both extra 10% discounts stacked. The Ultra-Morphs are "only" Still Mad, so only get the one 10% extra discount.
Just playing. I then added Kirie, With this cart, she is $6.28 and 67% off. So I went over the $20 freebies. (Which I recommend, look at the "after Kirie" prices.) And will show you the (K) price. With Kirie added, the cart was:
129.65 -99.66=29.99 So, $30 for all this (plus Kirie) 7 things averaging 4.28 each! THEN used the spend $18 get $6 off PC+ code. After PC coupon shown. Kirie drops down to $4.19 which is 78% off. The cart with the PC+ discount then went to: 129.65-105.43=$24.22 and 81% off. If you still say that March Madness doesn't have good sales, you probably just don't need the items. But please do NOT blame the sale.

You know, I wasn't going to buy anything today (although I had Liam and the foal sitting in my cart awaiting a decision) and then you all mentioned the Stephanie 8 pro bundle.. She was not on my wish list, not because I don't lke her but honest to Pete, I just don't need anymore female characters. However, when I looked at her pro bundle, I had actually wishlisted most of the clothing as well as the hair. So with Liam, the Foal and the Ultra Moprhs by Colm I got the pro bundle for $25 give or take a couple of pennies, which was far less than what my wishlisted items would have cost on their own. I also picked up all of Antman's display bases, for very little, which will be great for promo work.
You got a good deal. That bundle has a lot of nice items in it.
Oh WOW. If you haven't seen the article on cnn.com or in the news already- Toys R Us may go out of business as soon as next week!!!!!!! (Meaning close the stores forever, this isn't a liquidation type thing.)
Here in the UK, they went into administration at the end of last month, along with Maplin (our equivalent of Radio Shack), which means basically they're done. I gather they filed Chapter 11 in the US back in September.

Wow is right. The article I found wasn't on CNN, but it spelled out a grim picture. Lesson to be learned here is businesses should not go around purchasing a bunch of other businesses all at once. Looks like Toys 'R' Us did just that, and has been struggling ever since. What a shame. All those people across the country losing their jobs, (and eventually other countries, too, it looks like.)
Maybe they will reimmerge as an online retailer, as Egghead Software did with NewEgg.com. Fingers crossed.
She's in my cart at just over $22, (as the only product from the featured list.) But nothing in the bundle is wishlisted. The only bundled product I really liked was the Whitney Hair, which I bought when Stephanie was released. It's a really great deal if you like the products in the bundle. And still not a bad deal if you only want a few of the products. I'm on the fence because I really didn't like the clothing that came with her. (If I do get her, I don't think I'll even bother downloading that "Rock Star Diva" outfit.) The other characters are nice, but I've got so many females in the G3 line, do I really need three more in G8? Is it really worth getting her to save an extra bit on Liam?
I'll have to figure that out soon, as if I've counted correctly, today is the last day Liam will be at 50%, at least until there's a catchup weekend.
I haven't been really inspired by any of the MM stuff(and I have bills so not much spending $), but I am looking at the texture sets for Daybed Romance: East, Dark Dreams and Bohemian Dreams. They all look beautiful, but I don't usually buy texture sets. So, any opinions? Are they good for closeups?
I really like the bohemian dreams one but haven’t purchased it. It looks good though.
I like zeddicus’s new pose set with greetings. I’m also tempted by the cryo set but I have several now and need to use those first plus I have trouble with white sci-fi sets I get a bit snowblind using them.
You make a very good point. And since they are PC items they will always be cheap.
Sakura 8 Anime Bun Hair (Gen8F) Enigma (G3F/G8F)
Cute Sakura renders @Novica and love the outfit, which I got but have not yet rendered. I also tried the anime bun hair on Sasuke (male Sakura) with the opacity on the buns turned down/off. It didn't look bad, althought only the front works because the back has a weave going on.
BTW is anyone else experiencing snail rate downloading? It took me 24 hours to download about 16 items on DIM and I have high speed internet and performed a speed test. I had the same slowness on both a laptop and my desktop.

I already had the Stephanie 8 Pro Bundle and I didn't realise how much difference it was making to the prices in my basket. I also had all those Genesis 8 outfits on my wishlist and thought it would be ages before I'd be able to get them
I'm really confused at times as to the best combinations of items, but your post encouraged me to try juggling things in my basket.
I did some juggling, too. In the end, I took Stephanie 8 out of my cart. I'm just not enamored with a single one of the clothing products in the bundle, and I don't "really" need more ladies in my runtime.
I had four items in the cart, two Newly Mad and two Still Mad. At that point, the three DOs in my cart were, 25¢, 25¢, and 27¢. Trying to whittle it down a bit, I removed the DA Foal product. The cart didn't go down as much as expected, as the three DOs are also part of the Featured Artists catalogs and lost the extra 10% for two Newly Mad releases. So the Foals went back into the cart, and Enigma went out. I've already used both coupons, so my final cost, not including the the iReal Dandelions from the Flash Sale, was $25.21 for three new releases and three DOs; An average of about $4.20 each.
I know it's three hours later, but I checked my download speeds. They ran between 300KB/s+ up to 3MB/s. I think it has a lot to do with how many people are downloading at the same time. And with events like MM, or with a new beta or version release, download speeds can get really slow.
