    I bought Alexandra HD today because it was cheap and because on an older person like Ivan the HD can make a difference. I agree that for the female models especially ther is little point in buying them as who wants the pretty people to look rough or real? Anyway, here are two renders, HD and not HD, same light etc. I quit rendering at about 70% on both. I really like the way the HD catches the light and even enhances the skin tone.

    I like Alexandria's snub nose. Wish that shape was available without the older morphs. Too many of the female characters have similar noses, but that's cute.

    Defintely something different from him. Of course, it went into the cart the moment I realized it was KindredArts. Then I looked at the description. lol There are the dForce webs and then there are mesh webs, too! Ideas are bouncing around in my head.

    There is also the Beard Boss for Genesis 8 Male(s). That went into the cart, too. Darwin was using it before it was released and had high praise for it. Some of the promo images,( which we've already seen and drooled over in his thread and galleries,) are by Darwin. (sigh)

    The Fantasy Life Billboards also came out today.  There are actually 3 things that I want today, and I picked up the Tree House by Magix101 yesterday and the Chinese courthouse.  I ended up getting the Asian River Bundle for less than $10 as well as the Arabian Royalty Bundle.

    I think you will see much less difference if you compare Alexandra with normal maps ON to Alexandra HD. I believe the promos compare her without her normal maps to the HD. The normal maps add almost as much definition as the HD in my experience with other characters. For example, here is her elbow without normal maps and with normal maps. (Lighting my not be optimum, but you can see the effect.) I didn't purchase the Alexandra HD, even though it was dirt cheap. I just don't need it. Normal maps are good enough for my use.

    Exactly. I stopped buying HD addons when I realized I could hardly see any difference. I actually think these promos are kind of misleading.

    Could anyone make a comparison between Whiskers for G3M and the new  Beard Boss for Genesis 8 Male(s). Aside form the native G8 support they seem pretty similar to me. For someone who has the one would it be worth it to purchase the other?

Most of the shapes do not overlap with Whiskers...  The native support is very important because some of the big changes are in the facial bones of G8. The most obvious differences is that Whiskers contains a lot hair props while Beard Boss contains fewer that are morphable in fractional amounts and they don't share many shapes.

    @nemesis10 Thank you or the info, I'll wishlist it for now since I still use G3 alot.  

    @giselle3000 Whiskers is for G3M, I can fit it to G8M easily enough and it works just fine. Beard Boss is new and only for G8M.

    Ah, I was getting confused. Too bad Beard Boss is only for G8. Will just keep using whiskers and the other beard product I bought over at rendo then.

    Sorry to butt in, buuut :D Yes, Beard Boss was designed for G8M, but it was designed specifically to work well with autofit to previous generations. I didn't make it specifically for previous generations because I didn't need to. You might notice that a couple of the promos are on G3M characters, both ones by Amaranth. One is on Ivan 7 and the other on a custom character shape she did. There's even an Olympia promo :D I've autofit it down to Genesis 1 stepping down the generations and none of them have had issues that I've tested. I can post some renders tomorrow in the commercial thread I made for it. Anyway, just wanted to clarify real quick :D Back to your regularly scheduled thread :D

    I just took Beard Boss for a spin. The first thing I did was put it on G3M and test all the dials. Then I added G8M and checked a significant number of the dials, with the two figures side-by-side. The results were identical!

    When I loaded Beard Boss on the G3M, I got the auto-fit dialog, but there is no Genesis 8 Male on the list of figures the product was designed for. so I left the selection on Unsupported. For the Type of item, I left the selection on None, (as recommended from someone—Richard H, maybe—in the forums several months ago, for any hair items.)

    I have not tested it on any other generations. If you need something like this for your G3 males, this product will do quite nicely.

    One thing, though. The Boss Beard loads with the length set to 100%. Many of the styles have sections of clean-shaven skin, and require the length to be close to 0% or the hairs comes through all over. (Dials to "shave" the neck, and/or chin will remove the hair in these places.)  This can be asset, if you want to give the character a bit of the "haven't shaved since..." look. But it's something to be aware of when you first start using the product.

    I should mention, I didn't look for or read any documentation. (What? Read the manual? Pshaw!)

    So, testing today's offer- the Sakura Pro Bundle goes down to $34.01 (don't forget that penny!) with two of the required products in the cart. Has it ever been that low? (The graph from the app only shows the price stated in the store, not what it could drop down to if a required combo gives a further discount.) I don't need it, but that's a SEVENTY FIVE PERCENT discount.

    The two items I have in my cart (to get the above discount) are @mely3d  American Diner 60's  (phenomenal details, look at the burgers!) and @pixeluna  @shadownet   PS Onishi   (not a gorgeous model, looks very "normal" with some bags under her eyes. Also brow options.)

    I had to put the Lolita Kimono Bundle in my cart to see 75% off Sakura Pro... and in my cart, it's $34.02! lol

    There are ten Pro bundles in there for G8 and three for G3, all of which come down to $34 with two qualifiying new releases, plus the Kimono, if you haven't bought it already.

    I like Onishi. She reminds me of Lucy Liu, (who played Joan Watson in CBS' "Elementary") However, I don't have a single one of the required products! I've wishlisted her for now.

    So have any of those Pro Bundles ever been that low? (Edit- btw, I'm not ignoring anyone by not answering, it's 6am and I'm headed out the door to Home Depot. Yep, they open that early. We have thunderstorms about an hour away or less so I have to scoot out the door. I love going this early, very few people there except contractors.) TTYL

    Thank you for the info! it really is a great looking product, and I'm glad it works easily across generations.

    I picked up the beard product today. I also bought the Indian scarves. They look useful and you could use shaders on them I suspect if you wanted a different texture.

    I opened a private window where my member discount wasn't in play, and put two new releases, the Kimono bundle and Sakura Pro in the cart. The discount for the Sakura Pro bundle dropped to 64%. Looks like you're not a PC+ member…

    Here's a render of Mely3D's American Diner 60's. This is a nice looking diner with colors that reflect the 1960's. The light is what came with the product. It's slow to render but worth the wait.
