I did conveniently buy on Saturday some new releases I'd had sitting in my cart for about 4 days. Muscle morphs and platinum club stuff, I think.

Well, I broke it today. I spent...wait for it.... $1.92 so i could use my pc coupon before I lost it. LOL. I let the other one go, but boy, it's getting harder to find something to use that $6 on.

It's more difficult for me to find something for the PA coupon during event sales like this one, but I apply each to the first cart of the month that qualifies for that coupon. That way I'm not spending time looking for something to use the coupons on.

I lost one of  my coupons for this month. There was nothing I wanted.

  • jakibluejakiblue Posts: 7,281

That's what has been happening to me -  just don't see anything I want to spend either of them on.

Are we still showing off our Edward renders? I did one for Llola Lane's monthly challenge, Father-Daughter Date Night, (here, if you haven't already seen it,) but the focus is on the squares of the chess board. I did closeups of both the daughter, (Darwin's Lillyanna Expansion, here,) and the father... Edward was released just in time!

This is using the HD addon. Look closely at the wrinkles to the side of his eye, our right. In this light, the two deepest wrinkles looked like shallow cuts with fresh blood. I created a tranparent layer in photoshop to all but remove those two wrinkles from the materials, which I added via LIE. The wrinkles are still there because of the HD, but at least now he doesn't look like some attacked his face! To be honest, the verticle "wrinkle" looks more like an old scar on the face texture. Regardless, I really like Edward a lot. He looks like someone you might meet in real life.

They all look great! Nice to see an older character from Daz - I got both Edward and Alexndra but haven't given them a try yet.

@TangoAlpha. He does, doesn't he. I hadn't noticed until I saw your comment. Though I felt there was something familiar about him.

    Thank you, @RGcincy.

I loved Ivan's face, when he came out, but not so much the barrel-chest. It was nice to have in the gene pool, but Edward's body type "seems" more typical... at least before the potbelly kicks in. Anyway, I'm happy to see some mature models. The typical "7" figure male would have been hard pressed to look right in my image, without a lot of work. I just plopped Edward in with almost no changes and voila! Instant dad.

I like Alexandra, but I didn't buy her. My runtime is crowded with females. And I'm trying to show Daz male products do sell, one G8 figure at a time! lol I'm sure she'll hit a price point I can justify at some point in the future.

They actually had some things that I was interested in today, Muelsfell's hell construction set, the atmosphere props and AM's vampire bat.  I picked up the first two, I am saving the bat for the next day or two, since I've been having a really hard time finding stuff I need to make the discounts.  I ended up picking up Ivan 7 for free, he's been on my wishlist for an older, more muscular guy.

So far, I haven't bought a thing during March Madness. I really do have a lot of stuff, so much so, that there are generations of characters I haven't rendered... And things I forget I have now. So unless it really pertains to my areas of interest- and that is males, or really unbeatable sci-fi. I'm going to pass. I may even Pass if they release a new Base. I really haven't rendered Lee 7 enough yet... To plunge for a new version of Lee or Mei-lin.

@ladair   Oh, that is really, really sweet! I love the camera angle.

Thank you, @Novica. Because it was a different angle of the original scene, I didn't change the lighting. I'm looking forward to doing something with lighting that really shows off that great face. But it will have to wait. Stryker and Megah have finally told me what they want me to do! (Took the little divas long enough!)  I'm working on their scene now.

LOL... I went a little bit crazy buying G3 products over the two years G3 was the current base. And I have soooo many G3 figures and characters I've yet to use. I find it real hard to justify buying anything generation specific I can't convert, one way or another, to be used with G3, with the exception of Zev0's utilities. And Darwin's beautiful boys, of course.

Now, sets and cat toys are a different story! wink

I think the bat is so cool, but I have no use for a vampire bat, and I'm a little disappointed it isn't made off the rodent base. I'm still waiting for more rodents... I did find the atmosphe props interesting. If you get a chance to use them soon, I'd love to know what you think. I've added them to my wishlist for now.

Did we ever get anything for the rodent base, other than the squirrel? I can't remember. We never got the rat. :(

No mice or rats. I would have bought eiher. But checking the "Rodents" product page, I see the Crested Porcupine shows up as an addon. After that, the catalyzer and then quite a few other things, but no more rodents. sad

Gee, somehow I didn't have any use for a crested porcupine!
  • I may (may, mind you) buy the bat... If for no other reason than to drive everyone else "batty" with a render or three. ;)

The bat is pretty awesome looking. I still get some use out of the old silver key bat. Bats are good to liven up otherwise bland dark or cave scenes

I love using the old noggins rat with it's fantasy texture add on - he turns up in a LOT of my images LOL.

Here are my first renders of Shangrila. I like her skin tone but her hips are rather large.  The dress on the right is from the other site beginning with R(!), but the textures used on it are from Daz.

@sueya  thanks for showing her, yep, rather hippy. Which is realistic :)

Here's a suggestion for today- look at Valandar's store for some cheaper items, and some are DO's. I used my  $6 coupon and got this cart. Took both prices down. Before that, with these two in the cart, since one is a new item, and one is featured store, Kraken went 65% to 6.28 and Liliana went 65% to 6.64   Notice she is Gen3F and Gen8F, so you really get your money's worth. And of course I like her eyebrows.

So for you deal shoppers, check out Valandar's store, there's more cheapies in there. A little birdie told me (won't take credit) and also mentioned evilinnocence, and ericfarris. So it's this person's fault i spent money. (Payback for times when I get you to spend money. Fair's fair.)

I'm a little confused. On the sale page it says get 70% off this all new march madness if you purchased new in the last blah blah blah.  But there isn't anything there....

And, scary as it is, I am running out of free base characters lol.

  • Serene NightSerene Night Posts: 17,651

I tend to use the old smith micro lab mouse a lot. It still looks pretty good after all these years.

Did you use the offer yesterday? I think the bonus item is still the same, so if you already own it it might not show up.

Well at least you had SOME to pick from. This sale isn't offering me much on any given day.

My morning so far- a white Eskimo dog was wandering stiffly down my road, it was either in stages of parvo or disease, or old. Wasn't going to let it wander off and suffer, so ran and got it water, then food, while it was eating I ran back and got a leash and led it home. A man helped me get the rabies tag turned so I could photo it real quick. Then I pulled up a birdfeeder shepherd hook and staked it out (it let me lead it about five houses back to my house, front yard.)  Called the vet and the man came and got her. She is 14 years old, he was working on his privacy fence and she meandered off.

Then, the grandmother (who I had waved to often but never got to speak with) drove up to the house across the street, for the neighbor who was murdered. She teared up when discussing the 11 year old, and I told her I had just the thing, something most gals that age like to hang around with. Hint, he's big, black, has a mane and a very long tail. The grandma's eyes widened and she said a couple days  before this happened, the granddaughter had told her via Facebook Messenger that she was going to be- get this- a horse trainer when she grew up!  But she'd never been around horses. So Stetson to the rescue!  I can't imagine any better friend for a little girl who just lost her mom. So after things settle down a bit (the funeral was Tuesday) we'll get her out there to groom him and get on a horse for the first time.

So I've gotten nothing done, I was out trying to pull weeds at 6am (it's in the EIGHTIES here the past couple days, for pete's sake. In February!) when the dog showed up. Anyway, going to be off the computer most the day, so carry on :)  I'll do a few renders in the next few days, my studio has been doing stupid things (I hear ya, SereneNight) like freezing and not moving the figure out in the scene, even when selected in Scene and not letting me click it in the viewport. No, figure NOT locked, i had just loaded it. Then the studio freezes completely and I have to Task Manager out. That seems to be getting better but the past four days has just been ANNOYING.

No today is the first day I've actually seen the offer...

Sounds like you actually did get a lot done lol.  Rescued old dog, check, helped grandma and little girl check,  Weeding , check.  You've got quite a bit done I would say lol
