oh was that a banner deal? I didn't see anything on the page, so didn't see anything about a bonus item. Obviously I haven't bought a new release in the last 3 days - heck I haven't purchased anything at all in the last 30 days! LOL

Yeah, it was a dollar something with a new release in the cart. I don't know what the new releases are supposed to be (I do own Owen Pro Bundle, so that's another 10%) but they aren't 50% if they're DOs, they start at 58%, so how does that get them for 50% off work? Forinstance, Shangrila?

i think DO's are at 65% in the cart with two. Don't quote me on that tho.

Well that stinks. I bought Edward four days ago. Along with other things, I spent just under $100... Had I waited just one more day...!
At least it's not something I really need. Now that would really suck.

This is correct, if you don't own Owen 8. With Owen 8, the discount is closer to 68%
65% off would be right for PC discount + 50% MM discount, and 68.5% off for PC discount + 50% MM discount + additionnal 10%
I bought a new release in the last three days and didn't get that offer.... Nothing I really need today anyway. Couple of things I am waiting on for release but I am actually really glad that a. the sales don't really seem all that mad, and b. I don't need any of it.
The curly hair looks good as does the restroom. The maintenance room would’ve been useful but the props don’t have the realism I’ve seen in other items especially the labels of the products
I think Daz has been shooting itself in the foot by doing so many ultra-high sales, because 60% is a lot for a discount. When customers get used to that, then 68% becomes somewhat like a normal thing. 60% is what I look at for things I might not buy otherwise, but I've bought at 40% or 50% for products that are utility type or sets that are awesome.
I've just put in a ticket to return the Maintenance Room - the items are not all that impressive, even at two dollars.
My threshold for a 'good deal' has certainly moved. There are a few things I'll buy at the introductory 30%, but mostly I try to hold out for 50 or 60%
Anyone pick up Samsil's new curly hair? Would love to see that before buying.

For people like me who usually have similar items I’m not going to buy unless the cost is within my price point, it doesn’t matter whatever the discount they say it is.
It’s not because the item isn’t awesome. It is more that I only need one or two of a certain thing.
I have to agree. I think I could write a short book on all the things Daz is doing to shoot themselves in the foot. I promise not to, though, especialy in the body of post on your thread, @Novica!
So maybe I should just dump my cart… I checked out last night, and answered my own question. The Maintenance Room showed up immediately on the sales page. I put it in my cart, and then went looking for something to buy with it to drop the price even further.
And on a side note, the $5 related item I put in my cart is "only" 55% off... For some reason, my brain thinks it should be only 50¢!
Well, I just got home after a 45 minute creep-along on Interstate 10. I do really like those electronic signs they have, telling you what's happening further down the road. It said "All Lanes Blocked from Blackwater exit" Yep- ALL lanes. Wow. That's not good. (Looked it up on the local tv site- one person dead, multiple car crash.) Remember when we were younger, there were no signs and you sat there wondering why the delay? We relied on AAA for the triptik (Spelling?) books that would have construction marked and it was a neat thing, because if possible, Dad would always plan our route so we hit those areas after dark when the crews pulled a lot of the obstructions off the road for the night. We breezed through for the most part. And if we couldn't we made sure the bathroom break and food stop was planned before we hit construction.
People so take for granted cell phones, where you can also call a friend and say "Check on this for me, what's going on?" if you can't really internet search (not sitting still in traffic.) I just called a couple people and warned them when they got off work NOT to use the interstate (the barn owner's hubby, for one.) Do you folks remember CB radios? I had one and loved it. The truckers were so funny to chat with. It really made me feel secure because if I broke down, I had a way to communicate. Love cell phones, much less bulkier LOL!
I haven't used Maintenance Room, aren't any of the props usable? It's cheap enough. And @serenenight, I know the feeling about not needing more than a couple of a given type product. I have more bathrooms than my characters can ever use, but then I see one like today where I LOVE the windows, and think, KITBASH.

I really, really think that should have been a freebie. I wouldn't pay for something like that.
I don't want to diss whoever made it, but I agree with you.
I would especially love to see any review comparing it to Terran Hair since I already have that.
Well that ruined my day, I thought I escaped.
Brows on Uki- what's your thoughts? I like natural brows, but those are too unruly and long for my personal preferences. The first thumbnail, with the lighting, shows how they stand out from the face/ how they look in lighting coming from a different angle. She probably looks very different depending on the lights though. At least vendors are offering a variety, and I'm sure many people will love her.
They look really weird to me too. I can't tell if it's just a bad angle. I like that I could instantly tell this was an Inuit girl from the store thumbnail though. The eye shape could have been done a lot better but I still really like her. And people have been wanting less represented ethnic characters.
A quick google for "Inuit portrait" turned up plenty of similarly brushy brows. The angle of the brow seems atypical, should perhaps be straighter, but that's what morphs are for; and as Agent unawares says, the eye shape could be better. On the whole, I like her, though I'm on the fence about buying anything until Faveral's MICK Gothic set comes out - I'll probably use that a lot more than any character.
I really like the brows on her and her overall look as well.
Utis brows don’t work for me.. They are straight along the bottom and really super thick and wild at the top. Brows that wild will also be wild underneath... and in the images of Inuit women I’ve see they aren’t frida Kahlo black and thick. They are more Asian looking which means they are thinner. You can definitely see skin through them. The wildness is also really too uniform for me.
Ah, someone pointed out- did you notice there weren't any new releases on the weekend, coincidentally the three days prior to MM? So.....to get the freebie bonus, what did you have to do? The bonus didn't show up until after you bought a purchase from MM.
Aren't things "new" for 60 days? There should have been lots of "new" releases available, I would think.
I’d bought enough content this last week that I’m kind of upset not to get offered the bonus I bought all the Edward content which amounted to 100 dollars. There was nothing on sale during the weekend and the sales were confusing so no they didn’t get a sale from me
Aha, you're right. It's not releases that are new from the previous three days.
True. But how many of us buy a "new" release after the first 14 days, when the intro discount has ended? That does still leave 14 days of new releases. I'm guessing, however, that the majority of Daz customers purchase the new releases while the sales page is still active, especially if there are extra discounts involved. And of those customers, I'm also guessing, a higher percentage buy the day of release. Pure speculation.
I know for myself, I was too busy scouring through a thousand plus M4/V4 blowout products, then being so disgusted the sale was pulled early, happy it came back, disgusted it was truncated to DOs only, happy it went back to the original offer, then scouring through the thousand plus products looking for a few more things to add to the cart when I found one of the required items for a texture bundle I just bought wasn't listed on the product page so I had to come back and buy it... (and I pause to catch my breath...) Yeah... I was either too busy buying old stuff at 90% off, or too disgusted, to think about buying a new release!
