This is another render I did of Charlotte. All of the shapes are the same, but I used the youth morph at 20% from growing up.

Nice image. She looks like a young Julie Benz there.

I was hoping the crop "love' outfit would be included too, can't find it..

I own that. Thanks for making it. I was wondering if you or anyone reading this might know where this heart locket is from and the hair on the background page to the left of the bundle offer?

So... does she come with the tattoos in the base promo or not?

    No tattoos for Charlotte 8.

That's pretty deceptive promotion, then. Ugh.

They definitely should have said that on the promos...

It's rather weird that they market the base figure as "loving tatoos" but none is included.

Actually, if the products used aren't yet in the store when the promotional images are made, they probably aren't allowed to list them, plus the person doing them may not be the same person as who created the figure.

  • It makes me sad that I work in a medium where the human form could quite literally be redefined yet all I see being pumped out is bland Caucasian ladies. Thank god I didn't have to wait any longer for Darius and Monique.

the promos are very misleading. too many alternate items that are NOT INCLUDED in the Pro pack or in the new additional items for her. It should be required only what you get is in the promo images. It is very obvious though, that it creates questions and more sales laugh as witnessed in this discussion.

I don't know. I think it's a way to show off the other products as well and how to make your character more amazing. I just purchased the LIE tattoo by Pixeluna just because I saw how great it looks on Charlotte.  I passed up that Harley bundle so many times because I wasn't crazy about the character but never noticed the outfit or the textures.

If it was a hair or an outfit I'd agree, but given that the skin textures for other DAZ figure bases HAVE come with tattoos, and that the promo text actually specifically mention tattoos, at the very least, there needed to be a disclaimer on those images.

Luckily there are plenty of morphs and apps avaliable for users to change that. If I had to rely only on what DAZ and PAs put out to define the figures I work with, I would go nuts, LOL. It's funny to me reading about how good it is that specific body parts are being one shape or another on Charlotte when I can change that in a second. Chest for example, I have 39 different chest sliders that can give me different looks, so it really doesn't matter to me what Charlotte's chest looks like, it can be changed easily to suite my preference

Since you mentioned Darius and Monique, have you seen the products from Reciecup over at Rendo, They do some unique styles on their figures.

Redefine it yourself.  Make it fit your vision.  Not only do you have all the G8 resources available but you can also transfer any of your G3 characters/morphs over to The G8 figure very easily with just a few mouse clicks and a couple of scripts that have been provided to us free of charge.

i always wonder about the different characters..is it not possible to dial up pretty much whatever the face look or body shape you want? After a while, how many makeups do you need when every character , every texture set comes with hundreds of options? It is amazing, but I buy them all the time too. Must be that new showroom shiny deal.

Also, I've noticed the prmos show what the character looks like morphed with other characters ..isn;t that a bit pointless considering we may not have them? but i guess it plants the seed we should buy them. Maybe I'm so broke I can;t buy anymore stuff for about 10 years ... I didn;t even grab the 50% off PC+ this time.

BUT HAVING SAID ALL THAT, I REALLY LIKE THE LOOK OF CHARLOTTE 8 angel

Just put a "tatoos not included" disclaimer on those promo pics so that people don't expect them to be part of the product.

Advertising add-ons for the figure too is fine with me as long as it's clear it is another product. Those promos are nice but with the marketing blurb they give the idea that tatoos are included, when they're not.

Only up to a certain point, and only assuming you already have the head and body morphs that go with each generation of the Genesis figures. If you want to go beyond that point, there's really no substitute for a custom shape created in a modelling program.

I quite like those promos, even if you don't have the other figures it gives you an idea of the different results you could get when combining the new character with other morphs.

Charlotte Test Render (all four Charlotte characters released on 12-12-2017). She's wearing a free G8F swimsuit from ShareCG. And the background/lights is Ultra Genesis Studio Environments. No post work was used.

"Official" shapes will also usually include correction morphs for posing / expressions when they're very different from the base shape, which can be quite useful.

It is, depending on the morphs you have and even if you have access to a modeling app like hexagon. I find that even though I don't really buy into the whole addon character hype, they also add some uniqueness to the gene pool. A great tool to use is the SimTenero Randomizer https://www.daz3d.com/simtenero-randomizer

you can load all or only specific morphs, or even just certain body parts and custom character morphs and see it produce random results based on your settings and the morphs chosen. Most of the face morphs I use for my characters comes from this plugin and it works on all figures.

I think Chorlotte would be great to add to the gene pool

I'm not bent out of shape about the tattoos. Can't wait now to try them on Charlotte when I get home. Not usually into piercing and tattos, might even get the ShanasSoulmate ones and the other piercing set from Neikdian as wellsmiley

Eeee'yup. As fun as this hobby can be, it's horribly problematic at times for these very reasons. :/ At the very least, they could have included a non-Caucasian character with Charlotte, but w/e. :T

I think Charlotte is quite nice and will be a big seller for the DAZ customer base. She's the best DAZ model yet.

I actually thought today might be the release for Mei Lin 8, so I was quite disappointed. While obviously we can customize our own characters, it would be great to have more diverse "base" characters. How about a slimmer black man like our last US President? How about Southeast Asians? Middle-Easterners? North Africans? Middle and South Americans? Lots of other diverse groups to choose from, as well as diversity within the general "black" or "Asian" group. Kimo and Kalea were quite cool, for example. More of that, please. And would love more fantasy/scifi bundles that aren't just the same variants of vampire, zombie, demon, etc. (e.g., Centaur was also pretty cool).

I just love how Daz is trying to market that SJW-vibe with this one! XD

I'm _so_ tempted to make a joke here, but standards won't let me.

If they really want to market to that vibe, tho', they need to release a male counterpart who fits the so-called "nu-male" stereotype, lmao.

    Hipster boys! <3

LOL...yes, but I don't tend to buy boob shape changing  products ;). I usually just have the base morphs to work with :P. Of course, for me...that's all that's necessary ;)

I find these G8 characters to all have the same large jawline and odd mouths.

You should become DAZ Original PA.

If you only ever get one, get Hellboy's. There are a lot of fantastic small options.
