I buy characters for the skins. And the skins alone. The morphs don't interest me in the slightest - unless they're a weird alien creature, or ethnic. Yep, there are morph packages out there that will give me wonderful asian and more characteristics, and that's all I need. But the skins.... the skins are what I want. Which is why I'm bored with the constant stream of "pretty white girl" that we are getting for the daz "iconics/bases". I absolutely, categorically, do NOT need another white skin. (Unless it's a very very pale skin with freckles and ginger/redhead characteristics - Cailin is the closest i've come eto for that). Monique 8 is the only G8 I like so far - because of her skin. The other really really good dark skin I have is Candy  for G8 - I was REALLY impressed with her. Her skin is fantastic - one of the best i've seen. Her full look is a little too stylized for me - but she works well in smaller doses, but yeah, that skin is what I bought her for. I want more diverse skins on the bases - THAT will be what makes me actually buy into the G8 line. Cos so far, I disllike them all but Monique.

For the people who say it's just a matter of skin color--there's actually more nuance than that. Black skin isn't the same as white skin. You can't just "darken" things and have things look right. I actually buy characters more for the skin textures than the morphs (sometimes both of course), since I'm better at making my own morphs than skin textures that look good.

But I wasn't really here to argue; just putting my two cents in as to what I'd like to see. Clearly it is not what most people want to see, or DAZ wouldn't keep putting out white characters. Just wish things were different.

Good question. I actually can't think of any explicitly Hispanic G3 character. FWSA Oscar's pretty good. But thank Saiyaness for Benita! Obviously, I'm greedy and I want more!

    Yours?

Samanyo. Cathy. Anna. Laura. P3D Caro. P3D Adele. And Ophelia 7 is Latina even if they don't tell you: Just render her for yourself, and you'll see. Or maybe Filipina :)

I thought Sunny was Hispanic. And to me Charlotte actually looks like an Hispanic mix...

Sunny reminded me of a Thornesque Kim Kardashian; so, Armenia in the ho-ow-ouse! EDIT: Ooops! I was thinking of Izabella.

And I agree: Charlotte & Marieke are Hispanic the moment they say, "Buenos dias!"

Not as convincingly as I had hoped.

Aisling's skin texture looks fine when applied to the base G8F. I actually find it better because there is something I don't like about Aisling's head if you use her default head morph (100% Aisling, 74% Charlotte). It looks like her head got flattened a bit.

Here's Aisling with Charlotte 8 (which I think looks great!):

I really like Aisling (with the intended Charlotte 8 morph). She's quite lovely! :)

Yup. Charlotte definitely cutefies her. But Aisling makes a nice background extra without her.

Aisling is fantastic! :D RedzStudio did a wonderful job! yes

Here's Aisling with different fibermesh eyebrows:

Aisling is ok, except that she suffers from the too-large narrow but wide-eyed thing that bothered me about G3's Genevieve. I will have to fix that. ;)

Yeah, the eyes are a bit wide for my taste as well. Here I've narrowed Aisling's eyes and mixed in a teen character I'm working on:

The eyes are still a bit too big, I think. I'm sure I'll end up tweaking it a bit more. I'm LOVING Aisling's skin! Redz did a great job with the realism of her skin, imo. :D

Just some Marieke (shouldn't she be Dutch) test wit some homegrown jewelry

Marieke in a closeup (shouldn't she be Dutch, as Marieke is as Dutch as you can get a name), flaunting some Blender handywork by me :-)....

I kind of overlooked Candy thanks to her extreme cartoonish looks, but wow, the skin does look pretty good! Thanks for the heads up there.

Easily my favorite G8 character package. They literally made the free bundle with the pro bundle a deal I couldn't refuse. Nice beefy Pro Pack this time too.

    Very well done. Beautiful!

Thanks, BTW the diamond links are not posed....I convinced Blender to play nice and used it's physics engine (including a neat set of 28 constraints) to let them fall as natural as possible.....which I could do that in DAZ as well.....possing this would be a nightmare!

For a nice pale skin with frecles, check out Ahern by Braham over on renderosity. She is g3, but her skin is fantastic I think.

You know, RareStone's morph package has a horizontal eye morph that would be perfect for that EXCEPT that it operates on the eyeball as well.

Nice render. Maybe she's Dutch by way of Suriname, Aruba, or Curacao.

sad Well I learned something then. I purchased both skin builder pros,..........................and then never used either. Wasted money more than likely, just never got around to it. Wasn't sure if they would do that or not.

From what I've read it's a tool (like many) that requires you to put in some time to get the most out of it. The results were usable, but I did not consider them worthy of a main character or extreme closeup.

Do you have any renders with candy in another shape? I'd be interested to see what she looks like on a non cartooney body, that skin looks awesome!

    Here's Aisling without Charlotte 8:

Thanks for posting this!  She has a totally different look with Charlotte.  But, I don't find it bad...just more rough, Eastern Europe.  Probably a dab of Xanthe or Teen Josie could replace the Charlotte factor.  I still plan to buy Charlotte...just not sure about doing it right now.
