    Nice work, Ptrope!

And I like the translucence that Wsterdan has in the hull texture, too. Makes one think of a specialized glass or ceramic designed to withstand re-entry heat . . .

    WOW Ptrope!
I love what you have done with the dart! I can't wait to see the next addon set for it that nose cone looks amazing! I went ahead and added it to the freebies list under other ships for now but I can move it if you feel that it should be in the Federation section.

Having looked through the Freebies List and coming up empty-handed, I thought I'd ask you guys while I continued my search.

Specifically, I was recently asked if I knew if there were any models of the Captain Archer-era Enterprise Engineering room. I'm still looking, but haven't spotted anything yet.

    Anyone else know?

Just checked Google Sketch-up warehouse. Not any there either. I think you've found one of the few holes we still have on our list.

I was searching too but unable to find anything so I ended up making my own from scratch. If its of any use to you pm me and I'll let you have a copy in .obj format

Not Strictly Trek but someone recently posted some plans for future surface transport vehicles which inspired me to create this vehicle . Seats 12 people and hovers approximately 1 meter above the ground using anti gravity plates

    cool renders!

i found an old test render from 2011. Little Dragon made Furrette http://littledragon.francemi.net/furrette_01.htm

sorry for the dark lighting. I will need to create this whole scene from scratch because I lost the data files and the .daz scene files. I still have the .objs and .cr2s though.

    ^^

I feel your pain - I've lost several models and Poser scenes. Good luck! Looking forward to it :).

Here's my latest render using the Dart 'Tesla' - I decided to play with the 'fleet' in my runtime that I've had a hand in creating or modifying, and in addition to using just IDL for lighting the scene, I added in depth cueing, as well. I did add one small spotlight to highlight the insignia in the sand.

I've now re-released the WarpPack set on ShareCG - it now includes the deflector, the full set of 'Tesla' materials for the Dart CR2 (they're now the default on the warp pack PP2), and I've added Material sets (MC6 & MT5) to make the main ship's keel, nose cone and pylons invisible, as well as a material for the drive rings that takes advantage of the improvement in Poser materials since I first made the ship (when we didn't even HAVE ray-traced reflections yet!).

For those texturing Defiant tunic ... if you're having problems matching the braid etc on the sleeves ... the uvmap as on the template is out of place "just a little" for the sleeve in the upper position. Add a little to the left hand side to get the seams together and hopefully matching.

    That's useful information, m'lady.

Yeah, so we can stop pulling our hair out ... that hurts ;-)

I have a psd file finally together enough to work with and some non ST specific textures in the works.
[n.b. pixel for pixel the seams do not match evenly so we just need to be careful also exactly where decals go and do a little tlc painting anyhow]

What I'd like to get a hold of would be something for the braid - i have 'the' braid images that are normally found on the web using the usual search methods but nothing in a curve. One program i have will paint a curved line, but not with pictures; another program will paint with pictures but not on a curved line! So i don't know if anybody actually has some of the real-type braid and could post a decent picture of it lying flat on a gentle curve line such as found in the sleeves of Defiant's tunic so I could make a 'picture tube' of it ... but if one does and would, that would be great. tia

Okay, hmmm ... "fastgrab freebie alert" ... I've posted my little tutorial for making this uvmap texture template for a .psd file if anybody is interested. I put it in a zip so it won't start opening in anybody's browser. it's under 20mb.

How does one hide the bits on the Dart and put the Tesla texture....I downloaded and put in the updated warp pack, but can't find the hiding feature or the texture for the life of me. o.O

BTW, this pic was fun - NO LIGHTS were used in this, except for one small point light set to specularity-only and 1 unit DistEnd, so I could highlight the interior of the deflector cove - it was coming out black. Other than that, the only light sources are the 'lights' that are actually ambient materials, both on the Dart itself and around the hangar. I'm pretty pleased and impressed by it - Poser has come a LONG way :D. The reflections came out really well, too - you can, as Redfern has said, really see the space that you're in as it's reflected in the ships. (larger version is on my DA page)

Poser 9 Download is on sale at Renderosity. Do you know if it has the same ambient materials option for simulated lighting?

    Second attempt:

The only real difference I've seen between Poser 9 and Pro 2014 is the better rendering- They improved their Firefox render engine- and the new Fitting Room. The improved Firefox really makes a difference:

I haven't used Poser since 4, I switched over to Daz Studio quite awhile ago, but I went ahead and bought the P9 download. It was only $30.

As my tech from Kentucky would say, now I need to learn me up how to use it.

I've been a Poser user since P5. I've practically grown up with it.
