I haven't used Poser since 4, I switched over to Daz Studio quite awhile ago, but I went ahead and bought the P9 download. It was only $30.

As my tech from Kentucky would say, now I need to learn me up how to use it.

I've been a Poser user since P5. I've practically grown up with it.

Got ya beat I started with ver.1

Geez that just made me feel old

    LOL!!

    Status of current project.

    TNG for Genesis
with out the skin they don't look right...I know! Hair really helps too especially a beard!

Geordi and Data aren't playing well with Genesis.

After my tester gives me the okay, I'll post what I have so far.

I figure once I have those two figured out, importing Mylochka's m3 and v3 morphs will be a breeze. (I have her permission for those that are wondering. and they will be made available through her and my account.)

Zoey is in fastgrab ... has been for awhile now. Has some familiar qualities of a certain Vulcan lady [I think].

And there's a 'new' PC item for $1.99 but to note that when some of these are no longer "new" they are also no longer 2 bucks so if interested might want to grab it: http://www.daz3d.com/platinum-club-items/casual-jeans-and-t-shirt-for-genesis-2-female-s
Shirt, jeans, shoes, boots plus ... for 2 characters. Great deal. Could easily be used for some Trek texturing.

And of course there's Moonscapes for some quick sets.
    http://www.daz3d.com/platinum-club-items/moonscapes

And for those wanting a place to eat marshmellons ;-)
There's this one: http://www.daz3d.com/platinum-club-items/hdr-prosets-yosemite-pack-one HEAVY alert ... well over a gig, Poser/DazStudio AND Carrara! files :-) Super deal for #1.99.

I wish the vendors would list the OTHER items they use in their promos- like the hair model that was used.

Yes that would be nice. Has been mentioned many times in the forums too. AFAIK promos are now supposed to be using items available here though so that narrows the field of search.

One ponytail with a ring at the base, that comes down over the shoulder is: http://www.daz3d.com/stalker-girl-hair
The 'hair' on Zoey's scalp appears to be hers with the ponytail added on. I could be wrong though.

    TNG for Genesis

    http://pdsmith.deviantart.com/art/TNG-for-Genesis-404292699?ga_submit_new=10:1380583275

    Enjoy.

Sorry no Worf, I don't have his head morph or the ability in zbrush to make that kind of fine details to the forehead, 1st season or any other season for that matter.

All I ask in return...share your examples using the morphs, share what skin you used to help everyone narrow down a good look.

I tried a few times to make Worf's forehead in ZBrush but it didn't turn out too well. but when it comes to ZBrush, I'm a N00b.

For Micheal Dorn I used a few morphs and dial turning for my MU Graphic novels (page 56 of my Fortuitous changes and again in the beginning of Prelude to Destiny).

As for the other morphs, I have Mylochka's blessing to make all her m3 and v3 morphs of the TOS guys and gals to Genesis. (everyone knows her m3 spock and bones are the best!)

I considered making them for Gen2fem and Gen2Male (when ever DAZ gets around to releaseing that) but given the problems and hassle to convert m3/v3 skins to genesis, then to DUF then to Gen2fem. I'll just make them for a one stop shopping bit with Genesis.

The jacket's great, but I love this character. Every now and then someone hits just the right combination of serious and "fun". Her smirk is priceless.

Thanks for doing the TNG crew and sharing. Good timing for my own project! :)

Still playing with the DART - talking with Arcas, the topic came up of Kirk having a personal shuttle, and I just couldn't resist. I used a set of additional parts I made up for the "CalStar" hot rod version, just for my own use (I haven't posted them in any freebies - yet ;) ); there's no logical excuse for rear-view mirrors, esp. that far into the future, but I like the way they make the ship seem a little more 'real,' at least to me (they probably make more sense, visually, than the massive taillight I put on it, even though I can probably rationalize it more easily as a safety device to warn people to stay clear of the hot vent that covers the rear of the powerplant section ;) ). I modified the seats to have an insert that matches the gold command tunic, and put the UFP emblem in the headrests, and I thought Kirk should have his name on it like a fighter pilot's jet. I didn't want to plaster too many things on it - can't have it start looking like a NASCAR racer (although, now that I mention it, that could be fun, and someone already mentioned it in the context of an air racer ... :D)

In the next day or so I plan to have the Magnificent Madam Mylochka's TOS era morphs sorted out and swapped over to Genesis.

Once that is done I'll start working with Shadowhawk to see about converting all these morphs over to a Poser friendly format. (ie we'll do the DSON conversions and package them up for use.)

Here is a taste what what's done so far.

The uniform is Defiant with my own TOS for Defiant textures.

All these morphs will require the Legacy morphs for Genesis http://www.daz3d.com/gen-3-iconic-shapes-for-genesis or if that's too expensive then go with http://www.daz3d.com/v3-and-m3-shapes-for-genesis .

I tried the morphs on the base genesis figure and they look wrong and incomplete. dialing up v3 or m3 gave them the look their supposed to have. Sorry no Chekov, apparently the morph Mylochka used is based on the Poser character James.

Hope to have these done tonight or sometime this weekend.

ie With the Furlough, I'm directly effected and my time is spread thin, I'm considered essential and doing more with less, lets not go into the paycheck (or lack there of) issue that has ensued with it!
